Kaimetsu 09-23-2001 03:38 AM

How can .graal files be infected with a virus? Don't tell me there was an executable with them...

AlkarenHyralt 09-23-2001 03:38 AM

You don't need to spam for people to see it.

No, it's not possible. Graal doesn't edit files like that.

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 03:44 AM

the thread was deleted due to the virus

So the Blazer guy is lying? I didn't think you could infect .graal files, noone cares about those lol

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 03:47 AM

See I don't know about this stuff...is it even possible to infect a .zip file?

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 03:50 AM

I'd be very surprised if it was. Winzip has no reason to auto-execute files or have the ability to edit them itself.

Only thing I'd do is restore it to before you downloaded that file..like 1 minute or something, like you said.

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 03:58 AM

well I ran norton and did see any thing so I think its gone

Yea but if it's a trojan I don't think Norton can pick it up x_X

AlexH 09-23-2001 04:00 AM

howd you restore it to 1 min before you downloaded the file
cause i downloaded it too and i just wanna be on the safe side

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 04:01 AM

norton can and will pick it up even if its a virus its never heard of it looks for virus related movements as in it trying to write its self to my registry to start up when I restart my PC

Strange. It's almost as if the zip is just a renamed exe.

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 04:03 AM

well if you have gateway go back when you start your computer and it says that gateway go back is starting you hit space bar and then select the file time you want to restore too and it will give you a list of files downloaded then you click the one you dont want and it will restore your hard drive to the file state before that file was downloaded which is about 30 seconds before

AlexH 09-23-2001 04:07 AM

can you gimme a step by step im not quite following you

TheBlazer2k1 09-23-2001 04:08 AM

do you have the program called GateWay GoBack
