I'll just provide a link to the other one:
http://www.dreamwater.org/zulithe/graal.gif [edit]BTW this is post 1600 in this forum do I get a prize now?[/edit] |
yeah grim, dreamwater won't let my link to pics, bummer. Sorry about that post earlier, I tried to delete it before anyone saw my goof but I guess I didn't!
Heh, I was just lucky enough to see it in time :)
oh and if you actually had 1600 posts, you would have to win some kinda spam award. 160 isn't bad though
Probably because if I spam I still type too much, oh well I used to have 2000 posts in 3 months on one message board.
On one board I have been registered about three years and even though I post there several times a week I still haven't got to 1000 posts. I'm very proud of those posts too ^_^
Better to have posts you're proud of than a bunch of crap.
erm... That's right. |
Well I was proud of my spamming, I always took every day to reply to all the topics which were replied too and provide original replies which were ven vaquely related to the topic itself.
Where'd you get a copy of Whistler?
I got my copy off of usenet
What is Whistler?
I was waiting for someone to ask that, didn't feel like asking it myself. Well now all I need is the answer :)
It is the next generation Windows Operating System. I'm sure you all know about Windows 85, 98, and ME, well its the next version ^_^ It will be released this summer for purchase, right now its in its testing phase.
Also instead of Windows NT, 2000, etc, windows will use a single OS instead of two OSes (one for home use and one for office/servers) In that pic I was running windows whistler pro which is basically the office version (it supports two processors, etc) Anyways I won't get into any techno garb but I hope that cleared it up! |
Well I hope they are going to release a somewhat less often crashing OS this time.
They already did, it's called ME. :)
Sounds cool, I guess I'm behind on trade news, but, as I've said on the server, I'm not really an OS expert. <:) |
So far it hasn't crashed on me, it is very stable, It has the stability of Windows 2000 but the multi media functionality of Windows ME, and a hugely updated GUI
It also includes Windows Media Player 8, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 6, lots of cool little things to mess around with. |
.....
:/
More short term, look to windows XP to be a money maker for Microsoft with few new features. But Whistler looks compartively nifty.
Windows XP is what Whistler is going to be called.
However, I'm not upgrading. Why? Supposedly, it's going to be subscription based, and you'll need to pay yearly to make it run... I refuse to use an OS that I have to pay for every year. |
for awhile the-ctrl-alt-del.com had Whistler for d/l but it was taken down before i could download it :(....maybe it can be found on some FTP search
No wonder I hadn't heard of Whistler than! haha!
eh?
about the subscription thing... I don't like the idea either but it has advantages...
For example, since Windows 95 was released there has been Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME... and the upcoming XP But if you subscribe to the upgrade service then you don't have to go out and buy a new OS, it will just upgrade itself and it should be cheaper that way too. I don't like the idea of paying, especially if it is going to cost a substantial amount per year, but the upgrading idea is good. |
??
I thought that was called Windows Blinds?
Windows Blinds might have an XP theme... I don't know
lol
Hey did anyone notice the following??
You've got Windows NT, Windows ME and Windows CE, if you put that in the right order you get Windows CEMENT :) |
rofl Grim that's the most trivial observation I've ever encountered! lol

I used to like playing with the shut down and boot up graphics of Windows.
