Events Forum
 

I was discussing it with unixmad, and I feel there should be a separate forum used to discuss Events. There's no where to discuss them because theres too much being posted in this forum and the off-topic forum.

The forum would be used to discuss upcoming events, a place to dump ideas for potential events, and maybe events that should be removed.

I think it would be a great forum, however, in order for it to become a reality, I require support for it.

So, who wants one?

I can't give you a straight "yes or no", because I do not care. Therefore, it is not a "pointless option", if anything, it is a "yes" answer.

I thought about that too, so we could organize player events and have organized things.

Well, if the team saw that people actually wanted events, then, they'd be more inclined to host them.

Its pretty hard to have any enthusiasm for events when no one knows when they are supposed to happen and when on one shows up.

Besides, I think it would be beneficial to organize a schedule of events, instead of having them out of the blue.

I don't see how it would hurt, but the question is, do we really need one?

I think the answer to that question is no.

Most events are planned and performed on-the-fly, very seldom are they planned even as far as one day in advance. And when they are, and a post is made about it on the forum, it gets very little attention.

If we made this forum, why not a forum for Police? Or FAQ, or any other number of staff positions. This is only going to pave the way for a lot of useless forums that will get very little traffic.

But I do think we need a Roleplaying forum.

Events Team isn't stupid a single bit. Sure, some of the members might be (looks around, trying not to get any attention) but without Events Team, events that people do would be a PK heaven. Police don't listen to normal players when holding events. And yes, an Events Forum is necessary, since people get annoyed when talking about events here. And Lycia, how in the blue hell do you always get to talk to unixmad? unixmad is my role-model, I need to have a little chat with him about Cyberjoueur and stuff.

That's kind of like saying a Bugs Forum or other unnecessary forums aren't needed, why don't we just delete those?

because Stefan actually deals with the bugs there, unlike Makoz, etc.

And thats the problem with the Events Team. There's no regular events. We need some consistancy in order to maintain some regularity.

Its no good to hold stuff on the fly. Its better to have a schedule of events, that way, we get a better turn out.

you don't need a whole forum just to plan out a DAYs worth of stupid events that will get ruined by the stupid Events Team members anyway.

Why don't you just add the LIST to your stupid "requirements" site, along with all the other stupid stuff there?

ET might plan, but only minutes or so in advance. There is no need for an ET forum. Anything relating to ET should be posted in General

When I'm on G2K1, I tend to see a fairly steady stream of events *usually*. I mean, sure more would be better, but does that mean a forum is the answer?

If a forum is needed so much, how come we don't see many ET posts in General? Now, if we had lots of posts about events, then I could see the use for a seperate forum.

Okay, then, lets get rid of the `New Races' forum. I have yet to see any new races develop as result of that forum.

Also, how about we get rid of `Rumor has it'? There's no use for that forum also.

You need to stop thinking about it in a negative perspective.

They are there to keep people occupied.

The events forum is only a place where i am sure *you* will get to moderate and spam. There is no need for a damn forum just to plan out events in a day. use your stupid site to do that.

For a while it looked like new races might appear on G2K1. As time went by... it became apparent that it just wasn't happening. :(

The rumor forum is kinda fun, but never really served any great cause. Wasn't the rumor forum your idea? ^_^

Sorry, but, toguilds and masses are great for in game stuff.

You can't exactly plan stuff, and schedule stuff, and organize stuff using those methods.

you could just make your own forum for the events team

make a website for it so you can put whatever you like on them, install your own vB
