P2P Playerworlds

Okay, here are my thoughts on
P2P Playerworlds

Quite frankly the requirements for Servers are too strict for P2P severs.
I beleive the requirements should be smaller since its more difficult to make a GOOD p2p playerworld offline.

1) 100 Public Levels-
Explaination:
The playerworld must make a public world with at least 100 levels.
Not a one level playerworld with a waterfall.. what fun is that?

2) 2 Quests-
Explaination:
Since many arent sure what they want for their life system (since they yet dont know the full capabilities of p2p scripting) they shouldnt have to make a life system untill the server is up and they know all the capabilites of p2p.

3) Mini-Map, Big Map-
Explaination:
Do you need explaination for this? If your really that ignorant, then ill explain. Yo should need a big map and a mini map (128 pixel width of the big map) Of the server's overworld.

And that about wraps up what I beleive the requirements should be.

I think they are fair and just.

:)

the 2 quest thing is not a good idea..
because a server could be just full of fun and games like 2001... even though they have quests... but like when they first came out...

problem with p2p servers is they get so much into the whole "I got a npc server I can make cool events" crap that they forget that the originality of the game (zelda) was basically quests

I think at LEAST 2 quests is good, mini-games are optional.

but they are something that would be good to have to make your PW better.

Yay, so what do we get then? Lots of pure grass levels, whee!

It is possible to make a perfectly functioning life system without needing P2P, if you don't believe me I'll send you one I made once.
And I'm wondering what this has to do with having 2 quests.

Actually, that's already a rule for any server.

no its stupid not all servers need to have quests so its a bad idea

Death_Sythe 09-01-2001 09:02 PM

Correct...

The almost every p2p server really does stink..but Stewfan doesnt want to shut down servers thoinking that they would cry and all, he beleaves in hard work, but alot of players dont like most of the servers, and they mostly have 1-5 players on it and mayby get to 20 on a really good day, but I think that Stefan should do something such as give the player worlds a month to get it better and then ge atleast 60 people on it or it will be shut down.

Actually, that's already a rule for any server.

as for levels, its for the PW Team to decide.

I mean they didnt say in teh current rules you have to have 200 completed levels, but they count that against you. they never said you cant have a laggy pw, but they will not pass it if it is.
So its just common sense, dont turn in 100 levels of grass.

As for the lfie system, alot of pw staff dont know of all the capabilities of npc-server, and dont want to make one untill they know what all they can do.
and the quest thing is cuz you are required 2 heart quests (last I heard)

And to SLP and KLJ

QUESTS are a fun and assential part of playerworlds, they give you something to do when you get tired of mini-games.

even the most entertaining mini-game cant beat a good old fashined quest.

and for me saying the map thing, it was just lising my requirements, I never stated they were all new.
