Tile Rotating
You should be able to rotate tiles clock wise, so you could make things upside down! That would be really kewl i think. Like...while level editing, you press the space bar on a selection and it rotates 90 degrees to the right.
|
well this has been talked about (but for npcs)...
and the reason why stefan doesn't add it because people would need a 3d engine to support it and not everyone does (so it would look really bad if you didn't see it how the user wants you to see it) |

I believe he meant like... the castle corners. You have the NE one, press space, and it tilts to NW or something like that... *shrugs* I dunno :spam: :spam: :spam: :spam: :spam: :megaeek:

No, i mean, You know how you can only see things from one angle? Like whole houses, the door and wall (That is visible from the outside) is always to the south. It would be kewl, if you could make it so its torwards the other 3 directions, without having new tiles added.
|
The reason why this idea is stupid.
Viewing things from different angles gives them different shading. If you mean rotating tiles that have already got all sides rotated, well I don't see what would be wrong with that other than it being confusing if it replaced the tiles or anything.. if it was just an addition to what is already there then this idea is ok.. I guess.. |
argh
Either im not explaining something right (Doubtfull), or you idiots cant read....
Just forget this topic, and dont reply. |
(Eye of the Beholder)
It would be nice if you could move them in any direction. |
OMG!!
Someone who can comprehend what the read!

The problem is that if you had tiles, particularly houses, facing in different directions all on the same level, the perspective would look loopy. Graal already takes liberty with perspective as it is - let's not stretch the Suspension of Disbelief any more than we have to, mm?

Um excuse me... I don't see the need for a 3d engine... if we wanted to rotate the camera to see from behind I could understand... but just to put the graphic upside down? that can be done fairly easily... might lag when u do it to alot of graphics though
