Mac: Finding your Graal folder
4 Attachment(s)
A quite frequent problem that people have when playing Graal on Mac is that they can't find the folder where their files are being stored, such as heads, bodies, tilesets, and for developers, scriptfiles. Normally regardless of where you install Graal, downloaded files will be stored inside a user-specific, but hidden, folder.
In order to locate this folder: Attachment 39386 1. Focus on Finder by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock, or clicking on the desktop. Attachment 39387 2. Select the "Go to Folder..." option in the "Go" menu. Attachment 39384 3. Enter the following into the box: "~/Library/Application Support/Graal/", and press OK. Attachment 39385 4. Voila; here is where Graal stores downloaded files (inside the levels/ folder), settings and other files. |
Why does mac have you go through all that just to get to a folder z.z

Anyhow, I don't see how its any different from Windows in that aspect. A lot of times I do Start -> Run -> "C:\Graal\Graal2005" to get to Graal folder or other folders on my comp since I type fast. |

Why do they use a .graal folder anyway?
I renamed it, but I'm willing to bet that's a bad idea. Just another incompatibility I don't want to have to deal with. (With Graal, that is) |

I guess if you want to move it to your user's Library folder, open up Terminal and do the following: HTML Code:
mkdir ~/Library/Graal |
I wish windows had soft links...
[Edit: That didn't require messing around in the registry] |
In v6 the files are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Graal

This is why I hate Macs. |

never knew about the go -> go to folder; and im probably not gonna use it either.
i find it faster to use the terminal command 'open' for opening hidden folders, along with tabbing for completion of the path. i've also spent some time to style the terminal to my likings, and it's in my dock, always. it probably looks more like the linux terminal then a mac one. (= |
I'm bumping this, I still haven't been able to find it, am I doing something wrong when I downloaded Graal?
|
Yeah, someone told me this was outdated and no longer works when I linked them to this. :(

Anyone knows how to find RC pms?
It seems to be separated from regular PMs folder. When I open history with a player on RC, it does not show PMs that I sent on player. And there is anything in my RC folder either.. :/ |
