Graal Chatroom
 

Someone asked me today about a Graal chatroom, well, yes there is one. Look in my sig for how to access it.

Also I wanted to take this time to comment on the channel "rules"

In the past we had a list of rules. We no longer follow that list. The rules were put there to protect, but they caused more problems than they solved.

We have but ONE simple rule at #graal. THE GOLDEN RULE, a rule present throughout history thought to be the most concise and general principle of ethics. Here are some examples of the rule:

An it harm none, do what thou wilt. -Wiccan Rede

Do not do unto others what angers you if done to you by others. -Isocrates

Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. -Christianity

You get the idea. Now, those are #graal's rules but alphanine networks (where #graal is hosted) has it's own set everyone must follow. They are as follows:[list=1][*]Logging on five (5) or more clients from the same host.[*]Sub7 Nets[*]Any type of Floodnet and/or program that disconnects or attacks users.[*]SPAM[*]Ban Evasion of any kind.[*]Abuse expressed to any user on AlphaNine Networks.[/list=1]

Also, now that SSmutz has left Graal, we need a new channel operator to fill the void he left ^_^

Now, if you are banned from #graal and did NOT break one of the above rules let me know. I want #graal to be a fun place for people to come and chat about graal and related subjects WITHOUT worrying about being harassed, made fun of or otherwise discriminated against.

We get our share of troublemakers coming into the chat and I get tired of seeing that bull all the time. I want to attract some nice regulars.

Same. We need to make an actuall web page with a chat applet. It would be better than going and downloading a new program to talk to people

IRC rooms are full of "CAN I BE AN OP" or people sucking up to be OPs. And they are ugly looking and I don't like it. AIM/AOL PRs are better.

Well, we were going to add a java portal to www.graalnet.net but... it's too late now.

And the thought crossed my mind to add one to www.ssmutz.com but well, that is history too so....

I don't feel she needs to be punished for anything seriously. You two can't get along, even though you seem to make up once in a while, it always turns around and you start fighing again :(

Do you ever get tired of that? She is not such a horrible person. You can rise above that though, ya know. You can say "Well we have our differences, we don't get along, but at the very least I can act decent and not insult her"

Until you can do that you are no better.

I was banned for ENTERING the chat room.
She had someone ATTACK MY COMPUTER.
She LAUGHED about it, THAN BANNED ME. HELLO WAKE UP!
But there's even MORE! She went into #graal on Spider's server and TOLD PEOPLE TO HARASS US. She banned TrueHeaT for sticking up for me. She banned me with (die ****er) and (homosexual). Zulithe, what the hell is the matter with you?

Well, I'm not here to defend Lycia. But you can't say the blame fell all onto her either. Let me address it one point at a time.

I never said they are good people. I said they are not a waste of live. People make different decisions, they can be bad people or good people. In there point of view being bad is better I guess. That doesn't make them a waste of life.

It's not really abuse of power, because it's a free service. As such, you have the right to decline it at any time.

dante why must you always have to go into it.
it's common courtesy not to ban someone with (die ****er) or call people "homosexuals" when you hold power.
i don't care what service it is. zulithe is advertising for it. nightlord wants it to be the unofficial graal chat. it should be run professionally.
you shouldn't have to go in there and worry about someone ATTACKING your computer.
most of us here are 14-18 years old, you don't realize that and try to sound scholarly in everything you say.

hehe, professional people get paid to be professional. This is something that is being done on free time and out of kindness. If he were getting paid to do it, maybe it would be treated differently ;)
