5 Medkits is fine. Since Platform is a planet which your suppose to die on. I don't believe that a medic class is needed since a lot of people will just run away heal and come back like on Iricia, the 5 Medkits is one of the reasons I think platform is a good planet.

or if I get "HQ" lamed and get killed in 5-8seconds while someone trys to heal me

Hmmm Since we are speaking about healers, there could be a special shield item which healers can use to make a shield around them. It's requiring energy, so its only lasting a few seconds, but it would also protect team members.

That sounds nice, also could work for a defender.

I like this idea. Would you be able to shoot enemies while in the bubble? Also, ya defender too. (Obvious)

no. this is a laming server, and it would be pretty much impossible to kill the other team if their ability to heal isn't limited. the only way we're killing the opposite team now is the fact that they run out of med packs, and can't heal anymore. no. we're complaining about how laming is a bad factor of zone, and yet you're supporting something that will support laming? that's just adding gas to the fire.

Well I can see this working as the person can't shoot while being healed but have you thought what would happen once that shield dropped. Instant death. I have seen how rounds play out on platform and take it from me. If the other team is able to kill nonstop the healer becomes useless even with the shield because all the other team needs to do is have one or two people firing non stop at the healer and whoever he/she is healing and its game over.

Team members could shoot while being protected by your bubble, and it would of course not protect against melee weapons.

and you would call it "plasma shield bubble"?
good idea if it's going to be a class item, not a item you have to buy.

Hmm this is good if you can group enough people together to protect but again if your outnumbered this is totally useful for those few precious seconds then your back at the dropship faster then you can say "oh"

It shouldn't protect against explosions either, imo.

Details of what the idea is Stefan.
Is it a dual weapon?
How much energy?
Can another weapon be used at the same time?
Does it have a ammo limit? (If not then its a dumb idea since you'll see people using it constantly)

For some reason I have a feeling this idea is going to be incorporated into the laming of the game, by having people lame then when opponents spawn they activate a shield and so they can't be hit by opponents can.

the shield bubble is a cool idea, make it un hotkeyable tho, and double handed.

At least it would be team laming :D Seriously it's always fun to try out new stuff. You have such stuff in 1vs1 fighting games but it's energy-based so you cant do it forever and you cant move while using it so it will only make sense if used in team or to wait a few seconds for help.

Team Laming is still laming.... but I guess it does allow uses to use tactics instead of a a frontal assualt in which usually results in laming, and well I guess that it could some what prevent some laming as well as adding some.
I still dislike the idea, but I believe a test period of maybe a month or so to see what players ign will think. Afterwards seeing what majority of the community would like, and run with that.

But this is a choice which should be discussed :) and having some more specifics would be nice. E.g. Dual?

As for energy, wait till we see a hacker xD and energy comes back within 1minute so basically you could have this fully charged within a minute and having multiple players on one team with it would mean invincibility for sereval seconds.

platform is a completely different game to normal zone, on platform, none of the stuff considered lame in the normal game can be considered lame in platform, i dont see what your problem is with an energy shield in platform, more diversity to it than just jumping and shooting at odd angles.

@Stefan: Laming is already an issue. This will just escalate it regardless of how much of a good idea this seems.

I think it comes down to whether or not people play platform alot and whether or not staff have something better to do or not.

Maybe platform is suppose to be a testament from staff that stats don't matter all that much, so having a planet where you can rarely run and heal and have to die occasionally. I think adding medic to platform is stupid. Since I can already see everyone just running after laming and then healing coming back and so on :)

Leave platform as it is....

@minione: Giving them a medic isn't going to help issues. You can lame quite easily on platform. Especially if your team has some good rushers and can hold off the other team. So that other teams medic is useless. I would rather see them not on platform because you can die within seconds of being on platform anyways.

ditto. Zones pretty much laming now anyhow.

@Jurre If you dont give a fk about deaths then why ask for more med class? The only reason for a medic is to stop deaths idiot.

@Ravenblade Zone is pretty much laming as Sean said, adding a med class would build on it, though adding a shield may prevent some of it.

It'll be simple to lame with it, but if you have a smart player on the team being lamed they can strategically use the shield to allow their team to prevent the lamers.

Don't forgett that, thanks to the guest system, there are also enough double lamers. Means, peoples who go on a guest to protect the lamers, laming the own team.

That shield would need to be very well planned, worked out and testet.

With the currently given information it sounds like another add to just have something added, no matter what the results are.

I don't think it can be applied to the opposing team if so then this idea is extremely idiotic. Strategy and teamwork could be imported with this shield if done correctly.

Most likely it would not protect the other team, since like you say'd, that would be idiotic.

But if the semi protecter is a double lamer, faking the protection and just let the own team drop, the whole bunch is probably lost.
