Christmas was "rescheduled" to fit in with winter solstice or something like that.

It doesn't have to be a religious thread, we're just honoring the first known case of the Messiah Complex.

Codein 12-25-2008 05:29 PM

Happy Birthday Jesus :D

He wasn't the first known case of a messiah complex, there were hundreds of people who have claimed to be so. He was just the most successful and manipulative.

Yeah that's hilarious and all, but if I started posting similar comments regarding other religion's figures they'd be deleted straight off. There's a lot of people on this forum who are Christian, I know they are, and I'm sure they don't appreciate the derogatory comments made, much like how they appreciate the fact that some people do not believe in him and are not pushing it in everyones faces. Comments like these are not atheist though, they're just inconsiderate.

Crono 12-26-2008 05:54 AM

-insert 'witty' rebel "look everyone im an atheist and dont wanna fit in at all" comment here-

On the internet, it is usually the non-atheists having trouble fitting in. :\

jkool666 12-26-2008 03:31 PM

2015 because I think there was a mistake at some data of wich year jessus was born, and they discovered it was supposed to be 6-7 years later. But we obviously won't change our year =P

Even if he was, Tig pretty much summed it up.

WaDaFack 12-26-2008 06:59 PM

Conspiracy theory: Jesus was born on Easter and Kia = Tig

He got what? A couple hundred followers in his own lifetime? It's his followers who were successful.

Nobody knows when Jesus was actually born. The Church speculated that he was conceived in the spring, and so born sometime in the winter. They merged the celebration with that of the winter solstice as a matter of convenience.

He was the most successful through his followers.

This is a kind of dubious definition of success. If you become a great chemist, who does that success most rightly belong to? You or your chemistry teacher? He definitely wasn't the most manipulative.

Hbd Jesus.
On a related note, I heard Harry potter got an invisibility cloak for xmas! :O

Angel_Light 12-27-2008 04:11 AM

I'm a Christian and the only people who have trouble fitting in are the bad ones who cant accept others and their beliefs or who they are. (Which I think is a building block of Christianity. @_@ Go figure...) I have no problem you disregarding my religion but I show respect for you guys show some for me. You don't have to agree or sympathize with me. But don't go bashing it... that's just flat out rude and mean. Freely express yourself just be kind about it.

Oh... Happy Birthday Jesus. :P

That sounds like a spot-on description of Christian fundamentalists all over the US.

DeathOfRa 12-27-2008 04:44 AM
