Screenshots are blank.

Just yesterday I noticed that a lot of the working screenshots I had before had gone blank. I tried taking a screenshots online and they all come out blank.

I've tried different servers, restarting, making a new screenshot folder, but no luck. They always turn out like this. The beta client is doing the same.

Attachment 45567

The Level Editor's screenshots are fine though.

Any ideas?

Relevant Specs:

9600GT
Vista 64bit

These are what my screenshots end up like

Crono 08-10-2008 06:19 PM

It was working just fine the other day, I don't know if anything has changed since...

DustyPorViva 08-10-2008 06:24 PM

Well I took mines like last week and that's what they ended up like.

Elizabeth 08-10-2008 06:48 PM

my screenshots turn out fine

Crono 08-10-2008 07:01 PM

I ran into someone on Graal (UN to be specific) that was having the same problem. He's also on Vista and has an 8800GT.

Cloven 08-10-2008 07:13 PM

I've always had this problem since I started using Vista. Just use Prt Scr key instead.

Crono 08-10-2008 07:41 PM

I take screenshots very often when I play Graal and the pnt scr button would require me to open paint and copy paste it and whatnot. Too much work compared to alt + 2 => done.

Crow 08-10-2008 07:59 PM

It was working fine before? Tried fiddling around with Graal's window size, or tried taking a screenshot in fullscreen?

xXziroXx 08-10-2008 08:08 PM

Speaking of print screen on Vista, any clues as to why my Prt Scr button does nothing?

Codein 08-10-2008 08:10 PM

It's the same for me. I'm unable to take screenshots aswell.

Elizabeth 08-10-2008 08:36 PM

i have vista and it works fine for me..

Crono 08-10-2008 09:23 PM

Wow, fullscreen works but windowed mode doesn't.

No idea how to fix this.

Crow 08-10-2008 10:16 PM

Try OpenGL?

I took screenshots (Alt+2) no problem on Graal both windowed and full-screened.

My print screen button works too.

He's confirming that it's a Vista issue.

I seriously doubt that was his intentions.

Run Graal.exe with the -opengl command line parameter. Should work on Vista.

Right click on a, you know, I don't know the english term..."link" to Graal.exe, go to the path and add -opengl at the end.

"Shortcut" :p

Crono 08-11-2008 01:46 AM

It works with OpenGL mode but there seems to be problems with OpenGL and Graal...

Galdor 08-11-2008 02:02 AM

o.o

Doesn't 3d require opengl tho :p?

Meh, *waits*

Crow 08-11-2008 04:01 AM

Yes, G3D uses OpenGL, thats probably the reason it didn't work for Galdor before, although Graal should switch automatically...oh well.

Crono 08-11-2008 04:30 AM

Hi Stefan.

Crono1508 08-11-2008 05:24 AM

The only thing else left to say is probably wait for the next version release.

According to Stefan, it should be here in week or so.

I have it already and it doesn't work. Hence:

Where can the beta client be found?

Pfft, what makes you special?!
:pluffy: doesn't count either.

P.S. SEND IT TO ME

Crono 09-21-2008 09:25 PM

If you use the Windows Classic skin as opposed to the Aero one, the screenshots seem to work. Appears Graal and Aero are sworn enemies because I -think- it may also fix my laptop's jumpy (possibly frame-skipping?) problem.

Crono 10-28-2008 11:58 AM

Found the easiest solution. For those interested...

Go to your Graal folder
Right click Graal.exe
Click properties
Go to the compatibility tab
Check "disable desktop composition"
Click apply/ok

Fixed. This might also help with the slow jerky movements on Graal using Vista, haven't tested on my laptop yet.

WarLord2004 10-28-2008 12:24 PM

prntsc works on vista you just may need to hit the fn button along with prntsc

i have a vista pc but i manage to change os and use winxp instead....

Soala 10-28-2008 12:26 PM

Is it me, or I have the same problem for video recording ?
I tried all formats, and also read the video by everything I had (VLC, RealPlayer, etc...) and....BLANK?!

Anyway, thanks Crono, screenshots work fine now =D

I'm talking about alt + 2.

Luda 10-28-2008 10:56 PM

Well, early today when I tried taking a screen in Editor it didn't work, it was like 3 AM at the time so I didn't really care to post about it, I didn't even know there was a thread about this too. :P

Also, I have Windows XP not Vista
