Pistoles

2 Attachment(s)
i made some pistoles, well, 2 of em, and shaded em, please be as critisizing as possible if my shading stinks!

Jeffyy 12-08-2007 08:59 PM

Well... that first pistol is stolen, or you and my tryout both stole it, but it is nicely re shaded(I can tell cause your handle on your other gun blows compared to the one on the first one). Honestly the second pistol is pretty bad, your handle is almost square but the shading is pretty good... Next time you should outline your gun in black, before you worry about shading in anything. It gives you an idea how your gun is going to look because having a square handle and a large top part makes the gun look off balanced/unreal. Now that I look at it again not only is the handle square it is also very small, so make that a little bigger. So at least a graal hand could fit on that, other wise nice job.

Luigi203 12-08-2007 09:03 PM

Why don't you try making things besides guns? It might benefit you..

who stole what? whos the tryout?!

Jeffyy 12-09-2007 07:18 AM

The first pistol isn't yours.

DustyPorViva 12-09-2007 08:03 AM

Heh, why, because your tryout says? I don't know who stole what, but people trying out aren't always the most trust-worthy people.

Oh, and for future reference for anyone doing graphics, it's a good idea to save back-ups while you're working on it, or do like I do: work on a large canvas, constantly copying and pasting copies of your work as you change things. This is good for if you make a mistake and need and older version, and it's the perfect proof if someone questions your credibility when it comes to stolen art. Only you would have the progress of it.

"The apprentice shat not criticize his brother."

Of course that would make what I'm saying null or something. Oh well.

BigBear3 12-09-2007 02:20 PM

Why not have your tryout make something from scratch to see if it's even halfway decent...? Even if they steal the second one, they're going to run out of things to steal eventually. There are only so many things even worth the effort of stealing, anyways. >_<

Even so, the first one looks much better than the second, knightmare.

Kirble 12-09-2007 08:09 PM

I don't think it is the mk23 off Era, but it does look like a "skinnier" version of it. Erase tool plx.

Cool, Codein - just noticed in your signature that you're a graphics designer. When'd you get your diploma/degree?

You don't need a diploma or degree to be a Graphic Designer, not even with professional Graphic designers, you can consider someone professional when he earns money with it, he could've taught it himself, instead of learning it at school.
-
anyway,
these guns are way too plain to critisize
perhaps use your creativity more and make bigger things,
and detail them as much as you possibly can,
also look at other pixel art, to compare shading styles and possibly get inspired.
anyways gl and hf.

In that case you may refer to me as Dr. Stephen Arsenault, PhD in Engineering, Theology, Philosophy... shall I continue?

Regardless, you can still call me Dr. Stephen.

DustyPorViva 12-10-2007 01:53 AM

Your signature suggestions otherwise.

These threads suck so much, simple graphics which someone ALWAYS says is stolen, or if we actually get past that bullcrap, we get an arguement for no reason.

Just seems as though its the most interesting thing on these forums lol

Are you trying to be funny or did you spell Asperger syndrome wrong?

I'll go ahead and guess that he's self diagnosed, and that you're mentally handicapped. :oo:

You realize that there are very few clinics in the world that deal with Aspergers...?

Doesn't mean you can't get diagnosed in most places, sure, if you want to find out what grade of the syndrome you have, you'll have to see an expert about it.

The funny thing about aspergers is how BS it is. Have you ever read the symptoms? Most of these high-spectrum autistic disorders seem more like an explanation for simple personality traits more than genuine medical disorders.

Consider it hobbyist. Doesn't necessarily mean I'm a fully trained, professional graphics designer. In fact, it's merely a statement as to what my preferred development skill is :P

Since I'm 16, I haven't been given the opportunity for a diploma. Maybe when I've finished university, I'll change it, or add on to my signature, that I'm a Computer Scientist aswell, eh?

Wrong!
You cant say your a Dr in something unless you actually DID got a degree, I think.

If I had to give myself an occupation right now, I'd call myself a writer. But I never earned a degree in it, which would be silly.

Well lets see, obviously I said my Tryout, that doesn't mean he made it to staff, I always make my tryouts create something you couldn't steal. Which in this case he couldn't draw a pair of ice skates.

In which case you're a graphic artist. I have actually recieved my graphics design diploma, which admittedly isn't a large step (2 years). But I can assure you idle diddling in online graphics doesn't even begin to touch down on even the smallest corner of graphics design.
