How about making it so you can see WHO gave you rep? I bet most of us would like a chance to get eve... err, know who dislike/like what you did.

yes it would be nice. I want language fixed in those because ive been cussed out in those which is prety pathetic

zell12 02-06-2007 05:49 PM

I don't know if its possible to do that.

Also, I would like to know from the forum administrators how their rep system is setup, and explain it. Is it default, or did you guys make any changes, because I don't see anyone getting too high of a rep anytime soon:

<-50 = [User] is infamous around these parts
-050 = [User] can only hope to improve
-010 = [User] has a little shameless behaviour in the past
0000 = [User] is an unknown quantity at this point
0010 = [User] is on a distinguished road
0050 = [User] will become famous soon enough
0100 = [User] has a spectacular aura about
0200 = [User] is a jewel in the rough
0400 = [User] is a glorious beacon of light
0700 = [User] is a splendid one to behold
1000 = [User] is a name known to all
1500 = [User] has much to be proud of
2000 = [User] has a brilliant future
3000 = [User] has a reputation beyond repute

Crono 02-06-2007 06:04 PM

can we atleast see who we've repped? if possible, that is

killerogue 02-06-2007 06:05 PM

Yes, please.

excaliber7388 02-06-2007 06:21 PM

Admins can see it.
(And They can play with it as well).

zell12 02-06-2007 07:28 PM

Define 'play' cali. From my understanding, unless you put a hack (if there even is one) or something on there, it won't display the account name that gave you the rep. Maybe you have been reading something that you would like to share with the rest of us... :)
Or, maybe I don't know what you are talking about. I never know. :(

DARKVILLIN 02-06-2007 07:45 PM

lol this is bound to go well...

zephirot 02-06-2007 07:50 PM

Yeah, mod can see it, I remember when I de-reped Sam to death when my rep was green.

excaliber7388 02-06-2007 09:29 PM

The mods can modify their own rep.
If you neg rep them, they see who it was, and they remove it.
Hell, Sam has been known to have a little talk with the people who don't leave their name on their own...or if he doesn't get the signature you left (Like I leave -Ex)

De-reped to death = de-reped once?

It is yeah, the "Registered Users" or whatever usergroup settings just needs to enable so we can see who repped us.

Not possible without a modification I don't think

It's an option, a little usergroup editing is needed, that's all.

I will have to check and see if I can do this, but I don't know if it is a good idea because of the whole revenge thing. :\

That is probably the default.

I don't think this is true, but I have never looked at it in that much detail, but we can view it, or at least I can.

How about only showing the positive rep? There must be a way...

Also we should be able to see ALL reps/infractions at once :( mine cut off

zell12 02-07-2007 12:41 AM

Be nice if you could Darlene, and post some information on it. There are quite a lot of settings that can be changed, even showing multiple cards, like you get a card for each level you obtain... idk, if you need some info on it, visit their forums.

Hrm, are you sure about that? (Not sure if you were referring to my post since Crono's was quoted also) I'm looking in a VB Admin Panel right now, and i see the option, "Can See Who Left User Ratings". The version im using is 3.6.4 though.

Demisis_P2P 02-07-2007 01:01 AM

I like leaving positive rep and signing other people's names.
Like, I find a serious post in tech support and rep it with "funniest thing I ever read, ever - Stephen".
But then I have to wait like 12 damn days to be able to rep the same person again ;[

zell12 02-07-2007 01:04 AM

So that was you eh.

What he means (I think as if he doesn't, the whole initial point of the thread was for that) is so the user giving reputation can see who they have given it to, not who has given it to them.

A sort of reminder, I guess.

Demisis_P2P 02-07-2007 03:10 AM

It'd be nice if you could give rep every 12 hours (instead of 24) and you only had to give rep to one other person before you could give it to somebody else.
I don't know how many other people you have to give rep to before you can give it to the same person again at the moment, but it seems like every time I ever try to give rep to anybody it says I have to spread rep around first, which is hard since the forums don't exactly have a lot of active quality posters.

Devil 02-07-2007 03:57 AM

Hmm, if this happens, it's going to be good for a few laughs.

zell12 02-07-2007 04:04 AM

I'm still trying to give Devil and Sam neg rep, won't let me.... ;o

Devil 02-07-2007 04:05 AM

Thanks, I'll be sure to neg rep you aswell in the future :D

Cloven 02-07-2007 06:16 AM

I didn't feel like reading everything, but, the sense that I'm getting is that Graal should be EBay?

Devil 02-07-2007 06:38 AM

Reputation system isn't of any use at all.

It's not moderated, and doesn't really reflect on people properly, unless ofcourse if you're cali.

Denial much?

Devil 02-07-2007 03:39 PM

Mine is payback from other people, or newbies giving it to me who just signed up to the forums because I didn't help answer their questions properly.

You on the other hand, you know you deserve it, so sew that mouth.

Y'know, when you've got a red reputation anything that you give out doesn't count x_x

A great injustice!

zell12 02-07-2007 08:40 PM

Inverness 02-07-2007 10:21 PM

I really hope you are a girl.

Minoc 02-07-2007 10:29 PM

I believe it should remain hidden.

Maybe, ;)
Its fun to keep people guessing.

zell12 02-07-2007 11:26 PM

If you aren't, I'm going to assume you are 10-14ish male child maybe.

Inverness 02-07-2007 11:28 PM

I'm 16 actually.
