The Future of Graal: Playerworlds
Alot of ideas have been curculating between playerworlds, gold servers and the rest of Graal about how Graal can better it self as a whole. It seems it is time to rise up, organize as a large group and formulate some ideas for such. I have talked to Stefan and many other higher-ups in the Graal world and have shared my ideas on things we can do.
With this I would like to organize a meeting for the playerworld side of this project. This meeting would involve all Playerworld Management for all Playerworlds that were once or still are on the Classic or Hosted Tabs. The rules (not set in stone yet) will most likely be as follows: - Servers that were or are on the Classic list will be allowed to have up to 2 speakers and 2 viewers in the meeting. - Servers that were or are on the Hosted Tab but never reached the classic tab will be allowed 1 speaker and 1 viewer. - All viewers will be unable to speak. The meeting will most likely be arranged sometime in Feburary mostly to allow for Playerworlds to come up with material to present to the team. It is highly recommended that you prepare everything that you will say ahead of time and be ready to take notes (especially the viewers). If you are interested in joining, please send me a forum PM and also post in this topic (for a hardcopy). Be sure to include in both messages: - What server you represent. - If you will be the head speaker, secondary speaker (for classic servers) or a viewer I'll be updating this post with all that shall participate. NPC Code:Current Support: Remember: It's time that we stop act as warring nations and instead come together to rise Graal to a level in the MMORPG world that it has never seen before. Thank you, - Zero This post is still a draft and will be updated. Someone mind stickying this? |
I think you forgot to explain what exactly this is for...
|
We need to improve playercount first.

aka: No matter how you look at it, we cant accomplish what you think you are trying to do, its not possible, ever. |
It shouldn't be up to the players to fix this problem, which wasn't created by us as paying customers in the first place.
This won't work, because you won't receive every person in management wanting to do this. Good luck though, I just wouldn't waste your time. You want a great playerworld? This will never happen, something bad always will happen to this "great" playerworld, all the great developers are spreading themselves too thin, they all want to be managers  |
I thought I stressed about how this has nothing to do with a single playerworld. I am trying to get ALL of the playerworlds to have greater content in general. Want to remain a warring tribe of England? Go ahead (historic reference). Playerworlds that participate in helping Graal rather then their own selfish needs will find their player world to actually be supported by Graal it self rather then just thrown on a list because a playerworld team deemed your content as worthy.
Please, just show your interest in Graal and not your selfish gains. Quote:

Yeah but I don't get what you're trying to do at all... Merge servers? Have people from different servers help make stuff on eachother's servers? Have some team help out the servers deemed worthy of helping? I really don't get what the meeting is for...
Me and DV took a tour of about 80% of the playerworlds today, and only like two of them held our attention for more than two minutes. The majority of them weren't even worth being called servers. Out of all the servers we visited, I think Ol' West stood out as the most unique and interesting. This means that there's roughly 100 playerworlds that have no chance of ever making it to the classic list. |

It is about giving ideas and advice out to playerworlds out there right now for changes that may be happening to Graal. |

Someone needs to rethink talking about "Doing things for their selfish wants" when they are the Origonal Poster of this thread. |
I agree with Andy, even though I don't pay for Graal anymore. :P
|
So wait let me get this story straight I might be wrong here.
You want the Managers of every major classic/hosted server to get together and share their material so we can make a Super-Server for an average playercount of 500 people, in hopes of drawing millions of people around the world into playing a Zelda-Ripoff with only 3 options of gameplay? |
As Manager of a server, you should be able to flourish your server yourself, without the help of every other Manager from Graal, else you wouldn't deserve the position.
I don't exactly see the point of this get together, though it's a nice cause, yes, but unrealistic. |
LOL zokemon, please explain how you're going to increase the playercount?
That isn't your problem, nor is it your job. Let the administration handle that, why should you increase their income when it's their job to do that? |

Oh yeah, it's that time of month again when someone aims for the stars with a super fantastic idea.
Duh you have to be friends with Stefan and other globals to become a global. |
This is an overall bad idea, but that doesn't change the fact that you are are being completely ignorant on the topic, because you apparently can't understand plain English, which is to be expected of Graalians.
1. No he doesn't want servers to share their ideas for their server to others. Nor content. He wants managers of other servers to give advice and maybe some new ideas to other servers. 2. James, what he said was in no way being a spokesperson for Graal, stop pulling **** out of your ass just because you hate Zero. 3. And, obviously Graalian logic seems to be that someone who tries to be a good Samaritan MUST be kissing ass to be a global. Oh yes, that is the only reason someone would do something like that. Look, stop thinking that everyone has to have their own selfish means for every single thing they do. Just because thats what you do, doesn't mean that's what everyone is like. |

If they are someones ideas, why would they give them away so someone else can use them and get power and players off of it? Quote:

Give it up its obvious. Quote:
You are just too blind by whatever friendship it is you two seem to have. Quote:

To wrap this up, quit being blind, if anything really comes from this, besides Zero getting some kind of global job I will be seriously suprised. So much I might actually have to pretend I like him. Footnote for Zero: Why would you want to only get your server passed based on the fact you participated in some stupid meeting, instead of getting it passed because it has quality content? That dosent make sense. |

The op here has already said multiple times that it doesn't have anything to do with selfish gain (i.e. sharing material), so I am sure that none of that will happen. I will talk to the people in Delteria about this. edit -- stop being cynical |

Just because he says it isnt for personal gain means it isnt? If I pick up your TV and walk away and you catch me, and I say im not stealing it, does it mean im not? |

This is very correct. No one will be sharing ideas about their server development (unless they wish to o_O). It will mostly be my team sharing models and ideas for the Managers to use and possible things they should and can do if they want to have their server adapt to the changes in Graal that will be taking place of the next course of time. I also seemed to not know that I can't edit the post after so many hours so I guess I will have to just delete this thread when I have a big update and make a new one :-/ Quote:
And for everyone: Please stop derailing my thread. If you have a problem with me or what I am doing, you may take it up with me but I have done nothing to earn your disrespect. I am trying to help ALL Graal servers by giving them my own advice and ideas and the advice and ideas of others. There is no selfish gain in this motive. |
lol, Inferno I love your reason for deleting your own post there. And it seems the **** came in and did her thing. Took longer than I thought it would. =)
And yeah Zero, you're trying to help all of Graal. But stick with the other thing you were going to do. Cause I don't think this is going to work too well. |

Plain and simple were a a bunch of servers and were all rivals. A lot of us are still friends and all but don't expect us to be blabbing out any sort of idea to the public. Think out what your doing next time. Thats like apple and MS getting together and sharing their ideas for the OS.

This thing is already rolling and more and more servers join by the day. What are you talking about? And I don't know how many more times I will have to say this but: It is NOT a sharing of development ideas! It is for the well being of servers and to also help them with Management approches and other various things to improve the staff life on all servers. It is more of a lecture then a meeting but discussion is encouraged. |
Quote:
If you would explain these things then you might be on track with me. Question 1: Who are you Question 2: being who you are does that give you a right to speak of "Changes in graal that are taking place in the next course of time". Question 3: "Changes in graal that are taking place in the next course of time" what does that even mean. |
I'm sorry I can't explain more. You will have to talk to me personnaly and be someone elligable for this meeting for me to give you the confidential information.

I got bored at around post #18 and I am very tired so if I say something that was previously said, sorry. I really think graal's main problem is not the playerworld/classic server content, but the advertisement or lack there of. Really from what I have seen graals advertisements are very poorly written and bizarrely laid out as if they where written and sent out in a frantic rush, and hasn’t been updated in at least five years. They are advertising it as the typical unchanging mmorpg when really graal's biggest advantage is its always changing there is always new content at least somewhere on graal's vast sea of playerworlds if anything they would be more successful if they started advertising it as a development engine. All of those little rpg maker (95/2k/2k3/xp/etc..) junkies would absolutely love to make/work on an easy point and click multiplayer engine which for the most part graal is. The admins of existing servers should stop trying to recycle the existing graal player base by advertising their server on other often times more successful servers, and start advertising online trying to pull in new players. Although I have briefly discussed this with Stefan and he agreed with me I doubt it has been given any second thought. Anyways anyone who made it this far thanks for reading my entire long-winded rant.

You have a good point and all this will be covered in the meeting. |

There is absolutely nothing on graal that can be that SUPER SECRET that you need to hide it and call it "Confidential Information". |

You obviously have never set foot near the Graal Kingdoms development team.

I believe Graal is an excellent platform for those who wish to take a crack at developing a game. Much better than those GameMaker things I hear about.
For Aeon, I will be speaker. The viewer will be Tyreal (Tyreal_P2P). Quote:

Good luck with whatever you want to achieve but I don't think anything big will happen. Playercount will come from unixmad's decisions.

Ive been playing graal long enough to know how things go. Even if people with less talent and skills are always chosen over those of us who dont steal and do our own work. What can you do right? |
