PM Box

A 70 messages capacity is hardly enough for 5 years of membership, it'd be nice to have it increased a bit.

excaliber7388 11-07-2006 12:47 AM

Forum PM's.

zell12 11-07-2006 02:16 AM

Why would you need to have more then that? Save them on your computer if you want to charish the moment.

Admins 11-07-2006 02:26 AM

I need to delete some thousands of mine all few months, but I can store 5000 PMs :o Didn't know there is a lower limit for other people

Haha, you set the amount under the usergroups btw.

It's cause you're a cool global staffer :)

Well, it's actually what Kuji said, it has to do with the value set for each usergroup.

Anyway, like I said, store them on your computer. Not that hard to copy and paste. :)

konidias 11-07-2006 04:35 AM

Sure you can store them. (I've done it) They have a nifty feature that lets you do so..

But it would be better if it was extended... It's not like the server is going to have a heart attack if people can store a couple dozen more messages or something

ryu_no_bishie 11-07-2006 04:40 AM

hmm 70s a little stingy anyway most forums have 100, i dont really care though, my pm box is usualy this hallow box for birds to nest in.

KuJi 11-07-2006 04:50 AM

My PM Box is full of Darlene infractions and Ibonic telling me I am in trouble but the first line saying <3 =o.

Though I got Ibonic back today ;)

Chris 11-07-2006 04:59 AM

I had to delete like 10-15 of them from back in 2001-2002. Mostly of Psyker PMing random crap.

Ragnarok_Returns 11-07-2006 06:47 AM

A small increase or a large one?

Ibonic 11-07-2006 06:39 PM

I'd raise it, but I don't think it's my call.

I know Stefan and unixmad get more than me, but right now I have around a thousand and I delete some of them regularly too x_x

Only admins can have that many, I believe.

It's not hard to save them if needed, I did it all the time when I was supermod, and even now but not so often.

Minoc 11-15-2006 07:00 PM

200?

Crono 11-15-2006 07:11 PM

i have to delete mine alot

Skyld 11-15-2006 08:20 PM

Hm, I have a 512 message capacity. It seems to increase with administration/moderation rights!

Yes, I agree they must. Serious: I think globals gets more space to store. I have the half of Skyld's space.

excaliber7388 11-15-2006 09:36 PM

I guess the logic behind it is hat you guys are more in the public's eye, and may receive more PMs

I created pluffy, I should get a 30 total upgrade due to the amount of I LUV U CRONO and I LUV PLUFFY PMs I get. :(

-Ching 11-15-2006 11:06 PM

70 is enough, it means the annoying mods cant PM you if you keep your inbox full

Yen 11-15-2006 11:23 PM

If Skyld has 512 and Sam has half of that, then Sam has 256.
Why don't we have 128? Or 64? Why 70? Shouldn't Stefan have 1024? 2048? 4096?

Click the checkbox. Save them. Its that easy, takes less time then it does to type your message.

Stop complaining about it, who cares...

Lol, in my Postbox are 20 messages or so. I save the important messages on my PC and clean the box weekly. I never reached the 256 messages limit.

You're just lying to mask the sorrow. It's alright, I feel your pain.

Minoc 01-13-2007 09:53 AM

I'm running out of messages to delete. :[

Draenin 01-13-2007 10:58 AM

I would like a PM box for in-game PMs, but that'll never happen. Still, it would be cool to be able to open up a blank PM window where you can type messages to users who are even offline, so that they can get them later. After a week or so, they'd vanish, so as not to create a lot of buildup.

Tyhm 01-13-2007 11:47 AM

*shrugs* Easy enough to do on each PW once it's moved from hardcoded to scripted. They could even script it into mailboxes and postal service or whatever.

Minoc 01-13-2007 12:03 PM

Newmain had that, but its interface was pretty lousy.

Just make a mail system or similar scripted. Let players have an inbox of say 5 messages.

Well, it wouldn't be a server-specific system, though. It would sort of be like sending global messages from server to server, but in the same PM system we have now. Sometimes, when someone PMs oyu and they log off, you can still read what they sent to you. It would be the same basic concept, but in reverse.

Devil 01-13-2007 02:06 PM

Who needs that many PM's to be quite honest, it's the current enough? :/
