Kingdom rank system
Sorry but this is almos a suggestion, but upon further thought. Well it belongs here this thread.
The Kingdom rank system really needs something more efficient then the current system. There are isses with equal leadership because of ranks with gender titles. You have to set a Priest over a priestess or a Priestess over a Pirest when they SHOULD have the same level on that rank list. Doing it this way allows anyone that is the gender over the other to punish the other simply by changing that persons rank or even removing them entirely from the kingdom. This isnt the only rank that has this problem. King/Queen, Priest/Priestess. I'd name a few more but I allready got a headache as it is... |
Or just don't have gender specific ranks. *smacks forhead* duhhh.
|
How are you having problems, just set their parent name to the same thing?
|
Yes MA'AM. I'll be sure to remember that you dont mind being called a ma'am...
Think about it once, your fingers are moving but your brain isnt working. |
If you set it to the same thing then one of them cannot add to anything under the other person. This is just another problem inherited by this system being used to do ranks on GK.
|
I'm not sure what she's responding too, but one of us is considered a "MA'AM", now.
Personally, I think it suits Damix best. She must mean him. |
Mirror effect of genderless ranks comment.

Yeah, what's your point? Your suggesting on making everyone call the girls "Sir" instead of "Ma'am" is the same thing with Genderless ranks.
I really do not care for your nonsense right now either. |

And I've never encountered that problem, maybe you are doing something wrong. |

What I'm suggesting, Dayaa, is that you give each rank a name instead of a term which implies the users gender. So you could have "Archer" for archers, and "Sworder" for a swords person, and well... the list goes on as simply as stated. Although I fail to see in previous posts the nonesense you mention. |
Your implying that you set Draxx and my own rank as Leader instead is just a bit ludacris.

Not exactly seeing the problem with the current system now? Who cares who is higher on the rank list? You just double click the rank and it shows their rights to the kingdom, isn't that enough?
|
She's saying, it makes no sense of both Dayaa and Draxx both read
Aran, or both read Tari, Because Aran is a male name, and Tari is a female name, but since they are both of equal rank, or should be. But they cant, because when you list it you list ranks with a parent name So Tari's parent name is 'King' while Aran has no parent name. Therefore, they cant be equal. Same with some other ranks, too. |

DON'T USE GENDER SPECIFIC TITLES. |
Give both ranks the same parent name.

QUOTE] Do not use a personal related higher rank and you wont have that problem. For king and queen you leave it empty, for others you create a rank name (as you did it) and set king or queen as higher rank. |
If you have problems with sub-branching just have all female ranks branch from the queen and all male ones branch from the king.
|
See, Zero Hour, the problem is - we like being gender identifiable. Helps us keep away from those bad problems of accidentaly asking a fat man when the baby is due.

Well, this is a poor example but it's the best I can think of. Let's say your new leader rank is "Big-cheese", which seems appropriate. Now you would set your nickname to "Queen of Forest, Dayaa etc" so when you do /kingdom tag you would get "Big-Cheese Queen of Forest, Dayaa etc".
Savy? |
You do realize that your kingdom is much different then Forest right? We do not care for your human ways really. Would much rather have some equal rights here. Or should I go start picking on you being sexist now?
**If you havent noticed this entire thread was about the ranking system as it is. ** Problems with the current system - Parent rank structure doesnt allow equal ranks (maybe need an equal rank name as well as parent rank name) - Spacing and windows size is TOO small to see them further down the list - Cannot have a General in one rank give a citizen a Soldier rank because its on a different branch of hte rank tree. (Perhaps rank levels or something needs to be done?) |

Uhm no, Forest wants to be different...
We do not have to be like all the rest of the kingdoms. As for you ZH, I'd really like you to stick to .. semi-intelligent... responses please. I do not see how an angry face can mean much at all. |

If you look at how you make that specific face it's like this "! pissed !" but without any spaces. So it looks like this. !pissed! Quote:

They poke fun at it anyways, you never had to say anything to this in the first place. You knew the problems were there allready and your not helping anyone with these rantings of yours.
|
Read back to the beginning before the rantings and there are some suggestions there that seem like they could maybe solve the problem. Any reasons why those don't work?
|

I don't see any reason to assault Dayaa personally. Quote:
And just because for RPG purposes should it be possible to make them equal! I would solve it to make them equal like Alan and Alisa did it in their ranking system. Don't constitute the ranks on the label "king" and "queen". See these really as "labels" for the ranksystem. |

In this particular Case I do not agree with GoZelda upon this King being greater then a Queen.
Get it straight for once, EQUAL LEADERSHIP. Or for you people that wish to be more thick headed, dual monarchy is another term you can call it. |
Quote:
The first one is, as GoZelda said the current system in real life. The other one is what you say how we can handle it on GK. |
