Restoration
Seems Bjorn has had another brilliant idea (sarcasm) by deciding to take off food from restoration. Instead of actually asking the people who play GK he just randomly decides to do it becuase obviously he knows whats best for GK...i meen look at all the good ideas hes had (more sarcasm). Food needs to be re added to the prayer. Now its hardly any different from the heal spell except for it cures a disease sometimes but not always and costs way more grace. Im sick of having a manager who doesnt take any imput whatsoever from the players and just does whatever the hell he wants to.

seems like Deo's got a point...

True story
|
Agreed 100%...Hell, I don't even know who our "manager" is
|
Agreed... the big problem, like Deo said is Restoration is now useless. Just use heal and save.
Well, of course among the many other "managerial" problems on GK. |

It's great, because now farming makes sense again. Before it was almost useless. You can easyly get food you just had to do something now. Quote:

But that can be adjusted, si? I would also like to see food deteriorate less quickly. |

I agree, I dont mind and am actually in favor of food having a value in the game. I just think that it does go down really fast and maybe it could have a few hundred to get you by if your low on food, and arent carrying any. |

If you are going to nerf restoration then you might as well take it away... the prayer Heal does the same thing and costs considerably less grace...
the food on restoration is the only thing that kept people PKing... when you run out of food and have to spend 10 minutes killing stupid shell bomys to get food, then it really takes away from the PKing experience... Aside from the point, if restoration is going to be like that, then it might as well be removed, because it's just taking up space. |
I think Draenin is right. We should slow down the need of food. If I remember right Zero Hour already suggested this in the other thread where the idea came up to remove the food part from the restoration prayer.
(There is still the create food prayer). Quote:

Right now it's incredible overkill for what it does. |
slower by 10% maybe
send them my way, to the tavern we could use the extra business anyways and platinum coin.. |

Who wants to run to the tavern every five minutes? Not me. |

If you have to tap the mouse for a minute extra and click "a" a few more times it's nothing like actually baking 30 more pizzas. Just don't make the prices too ridiculous. |
Actually, although I personally used restoration more than any other spell I am more than pleased with the fact that the food was removed from the spell. There is create food, and dozens of other kinds of food that was previously untapped. I find myself actually using a cooker, and Misty Mug Tavern is booming with business. Not to mention.
Restoration still is extremely powerful even without food restoration. Cure poison, Cure Disease, Cure status, Cure confusion, Cure blindness, Full health, and not to mention at the cost of eighty grace, which can be used at any level as long as you have level 13 in wisdom. I think that is already powerful enough. I won't lie, at first I was very displeased but then, after seeing the server blow up and seeing literally over a hundred players on at a time all in one area was very impressive. I was even more happy to see that people were making food an killing smaller, commonly ignored monsters. It was even more amazing to actually see areas not littered with food and junk all over the ground because every food item had just increased in value. One little nerf and the whole community has improved. I think it was a great decision. Restoration still gives you 1,000 exp when you cure a disease so I can't say that I'm upset about the change. |
For those of you who have suggested the create food prayer... you obviously haven't used it very often... unless you have an extremely high wisdom level, then the food that you create gives like uh.. food +40 (maybe). And it's not very convenient to just sit outside casting create food for 30 minutes just to get 999 food (especially with the overpowered magic killing you from out of no where).
If something is going to happen regarding restoration and food, then it should be done quickly, since it is a somewhat important concern/issue. |

you need: 1 dough 2 tomatoes 1 onion 1 meat. That means: -Buy tomatoes, and onion (or get one by killing a lot battlepotatos). -Kill some monsters to get the meat -Make dough. You need: -coal -flour -water ( I save to explain how much time it takes to get coal aso) You are right GK isn't real life. Irl I go and buy a frozen one in the supermarket. In the future we will give out only 3 meals at once! |
There are other modifications planned for the food. When it falls below 50 it should not make you directly ill, but reduce stats (make you slower etc.). Since the low food will not make you directly ill, the illnesses will appear more often in food dropped by monsters. Please say if you like this or would like it differently.

There's an easy solution here. Just remove regen+'s effect on food depletion.

Food is very irritating to carry around, because all the weight adds up. Googi has presented what is probably the best solution. If you get hit for 300 damage, it depletes 300 food very quickly to restore your health. And if you're low on mana and health, it depletes twice as fast.

Bread is difficult to make, and "food" from the bombies isn't that easy to get in large quantities... Hence the reason we have a tavern to begin with. I realize I said this wasn't real life, but we have fast food restaurants for a reason... not only because they taste yummy... but becuase humans are too lazy to make their own meals! |
Fastfood is not healthy and makes fat. Means it slows you down, too. :)
But yes, the bomy food is very heavy. But there are still other things and there is also the create food spell ;) |

And I only have so much grace. |
I dunno, I survived just fine before I had restoration and a susty ammy. I used to bless mags and every once in a while I would create my candy FID's all the way down to negative grace and throw those in my inventory and I would be just fine. Being an advocate for as much RP opportunities as possible on kingdoms, I suppose I'm going to have to stay behind the decision here. Although some modifications to the speed of food depletion upon health and mana loss could be good.

It's very easy for Staff who don't play the game on a regular basis to make all these: "Well just do this.." 's.
|
I've peeked at 8 food drain per second with no sus ammy or bile worshipping.
|
Food does not go down that fast. When working on Debug I'm standing there for about an hour and just loos about 1/3 of my food. All I wear is some substance ammy.

Just for the record, it's faster to kill wolfs in the dungeon for food than it is to kill shell bomys. I spend five minutes in the dungeon killing wolfs, and have enough food to get me from 0 to 999 again. I can't complain though, because I worship bile :p
|
HP regen = 1 hunger point per hit point
Spellpoint regen = 1 hunger point per spellpoint Without the regeneration+5 from BDA, That is 3hp regenerated and 3sp regenerated per second when praying(aengus). That amounts to 6 hunger points + the regular drain. From 999 food, I can keep that up for only 166.5 seconds. There is a huge difference between idle hunger drain and combat hunger drain. Bjorn, don't tell me food goes down that fast if a good amount of us witness it all the time. Edit: I'm regenerating 3hp actually... |
Simple solution, make jerky
LOTS of jerky. |
