Information request thread

Anyone in need of information, please post here, and I'll do my best to help you out. If I get enough of the same question (please post your question even if it's already here), I'll make a thread devoted just to that particular thing (like I did with the classes in my other thread).

So go for it!

Heh, you have a silly way of writing.

Okay, scroll of Literacy is pretty cheap. It's only about 150-200 plats.

Ring of Thieves +2? @_@ I'd like that, but I don't think it exists. Ring of Thieves, ja, that costs around 4000-5000 plats depending on charme.

To use a scroll or spellbook, double-click it. You will either see "You succeed in learning the spell!" or "You fail to learn the spell." .. or "skill" whatever. To heighten your chances, wear gear that ups your INT stat. Also get to higher mental levels.. and most importantly, wear Lucky boots! You can still fail .. and if you do, poopy, you just need to buy another and try again. Heh, good luck.

Oh, one last note. Not to be a mean perfectionist .. but I know some others are, so I'll just tell you now before they flame you for it. The word I think you wanted to use is "Price", which is how much something costs .. "Prize" is a reward in a contest or so. Heheh, don't look at me, I didn't make up this silly language. :D

syltburk 05-05-2003 01:30 PM

haha lol, this is more of a request, could i buy a scroll of iteracy for 300 plat from anyone?

hehe i realy need it :(

Locke_boy 05-05-2003 02:01 PM

I'll tell you if I find one. :|

Neoreno 05-05-2003 02:08 PM

Woodlore, how much does that usually cost?

And, where exactly are the boss dungeons?

Woodlore is typically around 450 plats ..

and there are no "boss dungeons", from what I know. You find an NPC in a town that knows about a particular boss, and he will tell you where the boss was last sighted. You can then go to that area to find the boss. If you're successful in destroying it, you will be very well rewarded...

Kaiser2 05-06-2003 01:21 AM

Higher Wis= Higher chance to learn prayers.

zell12 05-06-2003 05:35 AM

Bosses are just walking around everywhere. No particular place to find them.

syltburk 05-07-2003 04:27 PM

how do i get

Personallity exp
Wisdom exp
and mental exp?

FireFly20 05-07-2003 05:16 PM

TTo find that out

To und that out for yourself type /statistics it shoudl tell u what u need to know.

Zalinto Zelin Khan(Bakugun)

zell12 05-07-2003 09:30 PM

Statistics are your Stats (Natural, Real, Max), and also shows your overall amount of experance points and the amount of points required for the next level.

Check out http://geovanie.com/graalnotes/skills.shtml or something, I think he has a list there. If you want to know what skills that you have give out what type of exp, then say /skills. :)

Satrek2000 05-08-2003 01:16 AM

Okay, two things - first, the location of the evilbomylordpositiontellingNPC *takes a breath* - I can't really see what Geovanie means with this treasure map 8...

Second, as my threat in the gods forum is lost and ignored, what are the gods' slay attributes and what do they stand for? I know that Gov has goblin and giant (rex) and that Ogma is faery and dwarf, also Brigit with undead and unnatural (which one's skeletton?), but what about the others, and what do theye cryptic names stand for? I hope you can help me ;)

Oh, and I need piety... and a way to pay for it since perfume was lowered...

Ducken 05-08-2003 01:27 AM

How much could you originally sell perfumes for, and how much can you sell them for now? I've never made one before, because I never knew they were good for making money. :|

Satrek2000 05-08-2003 01:29 AM

I think it was about 15 plats before with the right charme... Not it's... less, I'd say 3-5...

syltburk 05-08-2003 03:24 PM

guys i wasnt asking what you get

i was ASKING HOW You GET IT

I mean like Magic, u have to kill bomies to get magic experience

AND IM WONDERING,sorry for caps

how you get

Personality exp and Wisdom exp x.x

Satrek2000 05-08-2003 07:32 PM

There's no excuse for caps... ANYWAY... :D

When you type /stats, you get a list of what you can do - litracy, baking, use tools, magic, whatever - neatly divided into exp-sections. This way you can see what you have to do in order to gain this or that exp. Praying goes for wisdom, using tools is agility and magic is... well, surprise, magic.

Qwert616 05-09-2003 04:45 AM

This is probably a rather stupid question, but I just started GKs again, so...:

Are there any healing/support spells? Like splels that you can cast on other people to help them?
I usually enjoy making support characters in MMORPGs. :(

Satrek2000 05-09-2003 08:34 AM

For priests there (minor, medium, major) healing, and I think I've seen a heal-spell for mages.
Also, there are some spells and prayers I'd concider support, like amour, strength, charisma, dexterity and so on. I just wish they hadn't lowered perfume's value so I could but them all anytime soon :D

But... again, my request for god-slay-creature informations are ignored *sobs*

zell12 05-09-2003 01:33 PM

The normal buff spells i'd use are:
Dexerity, Strength, Constitution, Regeneration, Holy Possession, and Protection from (Magic, Fire, Frost, Confusion etc...)

I'm not sure what all of the gods slay ..

.. but skeletons are undead, of course.

It doesn't really matter what they slay, most of them aren't even in the game, aside from enemy god followers.

Qwert616 05-10-2003 02:02 AM

Another stupid question about enchanting weapons:

Can you enchant over another enchantment?

Like if I have a Sword blessed with Ogma, can I mark it, pray, and 'overwrite' the blessing with another god?

No, but you can drop it in the sea of pure elements and clean it off

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about one of those, thank you.

Where abouts can I find one of these?

It's on the mountain, directly north from DianCecht's altar

zell12 05-10-2003 07:35 AM

About them monsters, damnit, I explained it twice now.

Each god has their own cult monsters, just differant races of monsters that god favors. If Ogma slays Faerys and Giants, and his Enemy is Govannon, that must mean that Govannons Cult monsters are faerys and giants.

I don't know what the races for each god are so I am just giving examples. Eventually Stefan will make the 'summon cult monsters' prayer work so you can summon your god's monsters to fight for you. :)

Satrek2000 05-10-2003 09:58 AM

Ogma has faery and dwarf, giants are Gov - well, apart from Brigit's unnatural and undead that's all I know ;)
But... Ogma has two enemy gods, others have none... but I understand the basic system, and I know that most enemies aren't online yet. Still, the attributes are known to the followers...

Satrek2000 05-14-2003 10:57 PM

Okay, another request for information - what about graalian disease? I heard masses about canibal which required eating 10 bomy hearts, and something that makes your teeth fall out and needs vitamin c... are these true, how can one get those and are there others?

I don't think this canibal thing exists, but for the teeth falling out, if you run out of food you may get it, or one of the many other diseases

Satrek2000 05-18-2003 05:23 PM

Hm... if there isn't an account named athlete foot or something then this seems to be a desease too...

Anyway, still more informations I'd like to request:
I know that max_sp and max_grace raise with your wisdom. I think I know that strength is connected with your max load. Charme is for better prices. But what are the others for? Does Dex make you faster? Is Con like sustenance?

And how do ac and wc work - do they multiply the damage dealt, or add to it? Or are they used to calculate whether a blow is blocked?

And still, if someone fell victim to a desease, I'd be glad if the person would share their experiences :D

And of yourse, thanks.

zell12 05-18-2003 08:06 PM

Dex will affect speed and ac.
Str will affect max weight, wc and damage.
Con affects the hp.
Int affects the chance to learn things. (As does Luck and your mental level)
Wis affects the chance to learns prayers and also affects two other things: Grace regeneration and your max grace.
Cha will affect how the shop keeper likes you, therefor giving you a better price on his items. :)

MasterNuke 05-19-2003 01:11 PM

Pow also affects max_sp and max_grace... the more the better

Satrek2000 05-19-2003 09:01 PM

Thanks :D

Another question - what exactly does the imptovement potion do - I used one, it said something about remaking me closer to the god's image, and without a change of basic stats I got 2 more HP... I think it works at random, if so, can it give even permanent additions to stats?

And is there something like a permanent speed potions, or are items worn the only way to increase it?

Tyhm 05-19-2003 11:50 PM

It improves HP, MP, Grace, Carrying Capacity, then back to HP. At every level your HP/MP/Grace/Carry goes up by a random factor, the roll of a dice. What the Improvement Potion does is maximize that roll for that level-up, starting at Level 1 and not to exceed your current level for obvious reasons.

Satrek2000 05-22-2003 12:13 PM

I bought scroll of concealment today and suceeded to learn hiding. I can see it in the /skills under agility. But I got it nowhere in the skills-menu, so I'm wondering - how can I use it? °°

Everything that makes you go invisible is disabled for now.

Satrek2000 05-23-2003 08:26 AM

Ah - reminds me of classic.... and probably better that way, I just hope some day it'll turn out that I didn't waste my money... ;)

Hm... while we're at it... about wc and ac - what exactly do they do? I know the lower the better, but how do they join the calculation? Do they give the chance of how likely it is to be hit, or suceede in a blow? Or do they add to the damage and physical resistance?

zell12 05-23-2003 01:34 PM

wc(weaponclass) gives a better chance to strike
ac(armourclass) gives a better chance to make the other person fail.

Satrek2000 05-25-2003 12:35 PM

Am I the only one asking for information?

Anyway... is there a special reason for my Str and Speed being written in the same color as the overall exp is?

zell12 05-25-2003 01:16 PM

Is there a reason you keep asking so many pointless questions?
