so...who made it XD?

so who all has recived an e-mail from nem?
i'm really wanna know who all made it :O
my money is on Spark and Mykel.
dunno if he has even e-mailed anyone yet
but anyways
if you made it post here!

Qwert616 04-19-2003 12:51 AM

Heh, I guess this will be pretty big news. Sort of exciting.

Python523 04-19-2003 12:53 AM

isn't spark manager of rudora? kind of shows no loyalty at all if he just leaves his PW for a better job x.x

ETD 04-19-2003 01:01 AM

the application deadline was just 3 hours ago
=O
the deadline for the west coast of the US has just ended less than 20 mins ago...

I seriousely doubt he looked at the like 50 applications that he has already...

my guess is that he will look over them this weekend, and then e-mail people next week...

it'll probably take another few weeks of applications, and interviews before the 'winners' are named
=X

magicbud3344 04-19-2003 01:08 AM

well i'm just asking who got the first questionare e-mail not who all the way made it ;P
but i mean whoever got some notifacation from nem just post it here :O!

Lyndzey 04-19-2003 04:08 AM

It will take a while for Nemesis to grade all these applications.

I think he should judge the following things:

-If the people followed the rules correctly (such as getting supports right, including their name in the subject, etc)
-How fast people replied. If someone sends the application in right away, it means they rushed. If they wanted the job so bad, they should have taken their time but be ready to send it in by the deadline.
-Their old staff jobs. Having a lot of different staff jobs can mean that a person either is talented or the person skips around a lot.
-Most importantly, the content of a person's paragraph. People should write about why they would make a good PWA and I can bet a lot of people screwed up on that part.

magicbud3344 04-19-2003 05:13 AM

i rushed mine and i was kind of eh on the supports ;x
but i wrote a pretty nice paper i think ;]

Mykel 04-19-2003 06:15 AM

i havnt gotten anything yet. :)

I was going to clear this up later:

I’m not a manager
Never have been a manager

Zas is the manager. He has time zone differences and family issues. I am head admin. I will replace him if I have to leave. I have wanted the PWA job for a while now, so I wouldn't want to miss out on such a chance. The only reason I would leave Rudora is because I know it can manage without me, we now have a great working and structured team. If I knew Rudora couldn't live without me, then I wouldn't have applied. But there are enough people who can make Rudora work who already work there. Besides I think everyone has to move on in life at some point.
And about that loyalty, I think it shows commitment for a Manager to leave.

And like everyone I haven't got one. But if 50 people wrote a structured 2-3 paragraphs it will take him along time to get through, so I think Nem will take a few days before he sends out a questionnaire to all/some people!

Lyndzey 04-19-2003 03:11 PM

Nemesis probably won't reply until he grades all of them. If he replies right after he reads them, he might reply to way too many or not enough people.

Loriel 04-19-2003 04:19 PM

He said he will verify the listed supporters. I am sure it takes a lot of time to talk to all those people, especially as all of them probably live in different timezones :)

Yeah that will take along time to do!
Well maybe he will only verify people who has a good application. That thins it down a bit.

well, didnt he say that if tests were close, thats when he wud use them? So, I dont think he will have to check ALL of them.

Well:

1.) Maybe this is to decide the final! :megaeek:
2.) Check them now, saves doing it later! 0_0

zell12 04-19-2003 06:53 PM

He is probably making sure none of you lied, and he is also probably checking if you actually play classic often. coughlorielcough

Projectshifter 04-19-2003 07:23 PM

I agree with Lyndzey. That's what I tried to do in my application. I only included my current jobs, but if I did ALL my previous jobs it would make my app way long x-x

Thats the most important part. Hopefully everyone did enough detail there, else there may be litte chance for them :(

Projectshifter 04-19-2003 11:15 PM

I am pretty sure that was the entire point of the essay :P

I am pretty sure that a lot of people didn't realize that ;]

Mykel 04-20-2003 07:22 AM

he ever said how many he wud hire?

Projectshifter 04-20-2003 08:03 AM

Why would it be a set number? Perhaps only 2 people would be fit, perhaps 20 so he'd have to narrow it down. It will of course be a small team, but it all depends on how many qualified people. Plus it isn't like he won't keep a few alternates in case some people don't work out or in case it is necessary to expand the team?

Yup, well there are always going to be some people who dont get the application, and do it wrong.

Milkdude99 04-20-2003 04:20 PM

I will make a prediction, in my crystal ball I see 4 to 6 will be hired. ;) :)

Spark910 04-20-2003 04:31 PM

Get your crystal ball to predict the lotto numbers!
I think it will be a big-ish team! As with payments there are going to be alot of new servers that will appear online.

You forget what Nem said about that I see, under some hosting plans they will not be governed by Nem or the PWA and will have their own rules. So it depends on how many opt for this plan. Then too I think you guys are way off base on the price but I am keeping quiet on that till I see the official post on prices.

Mykel 04-20-2003 07:09 PM

Nem shud post the newbie PWA's in the Forum Announcements section, because its never used, and that wud be cool. :D

I didnt read it, I was going to sift through the 3 pages, but I just read last few posts, so didnt see that. And yeah I kind of figured that would happen. Why pay for a server if you dont have as much flexability as you want (Of course there will be rules)

And Mykel, Thats for Forum anouncments, not PWA!

This thread is sort of pointless now. Nobodys 'made it' yet. So no need to carry on the thread. =D

HoudiniMan 04-21-2003 11:19 PM

But if we keep pointing out the obvious long enough, Spark, maybe it will live until somebody does hear from Nem :)

*pokes post count*
Oh yeah! :p

PrinceDark 04-21-2003 11:40 PM

From the way Nemesis explained it there will be one playerworld reviewer for each playerworld that is online. So I'm guessing about 15 people will make the team.

Knuckles 04-22-2003 03:03 AM

I never submitted an application.. Why?

I had a few things running through my head at the time...
Frolic, Abode, and... Am I goin' to be able to do a good job?

^ Those 3 questions determined my final decision. Hehe.
I couldn't give up Frolic =/.

PW Inspector*

Maybe so... though i don't think that would work very well, they might be biased towards their fav little world and managers might get comfy with people ;(

Projectshifter 04-22-2003 04:54 AM

I'm hungry! LOL, that's off-topic. Just give it time, he'll get it taken care of.

Mykel 04-22-2003 05:11 AM

I dont expect a reply for a couple of weeks, so this might be hard. But we get one or two *bump* reply's so, "WE CAN DOIT!"

Projectshifter 04-22-2003 07:25 AM

LOL, it just takes a bit of patience. It's all good, gotta girlfriend to keep me occupied ;)

HoudiniMan 04-22-2003 09:33 AM

Yeah, that thread wasn't spam :P
