Malak's Complaint.
 

Now, some may think I complain often. Maybe I do - or at least, I used to send a lot of letters to Stefan. I don't usually publisize my complaints, but in this case, I decided to share my complaint .. it's about Graal2001.

I'm beginning to hate it, and I'm rather close to quitting it. I'm supersticious, however, and feel that if I quit now, I'll miss out on something.

Anyway, here's my complaint:

I first connected to Graal2001 just to check it out. I had no idea I would end up being hooked to it, nor did I know that many of my friends played it (Asuka, TrueHeat, Tyne, Hiryuu, etc.). After talking to them about what goes on around there, I started becomming rather interested in it, especially since I saw how dedicated they all were to bringing RolePlaying onto Graal2001, which is like trying to stop PKers run amuk on Graal Main server. I was impressed by their actions, and decided to help them out as much as I possibly could, while still working my ass off on Valikorlia.

Anyway, time passed, and a lot of cool things happened. I had some fun Rps with my pals, things like this - but, soon enough, what I predicted would happen, came forth.

I like Stefan. I really do. I think he's nice enough, and he works hard to add cool stuff to Graal2001, and keep these really annoying and rude players happy for a bit of time. However, this time, he went to far. The RolePlaying Kingdoms on graal2001 are slowly becomming a big laugh - some already have reached and gone passed it. I think the only Kingdom that isn't yet a laughing stock is the Samurai Kingdom, but I'm sure it'll get there soon enough. After all, take a look at the present happenings:

1) Dustari Kingdom. Supposed to be a medieval Kingdom, based sort of on your basic Knights of the Round table in King Arthur's court history. You know, the basic land of heroes and magic sort of thing. Cool, huh? Yeah right. Take a look around this so called Kingdom.

A) First, there's the people. Knights, Wizards, Clerics, and the etc should have proper, RolePlaying medieval names, I would think. You know, stuff like 'Paladin Zulithe' (I like Zulithe's name, so I used him as an example). Instead, I'm seeing *****s go about Graal2001, pretending to RolePlay (although the majority have **NO** clue what RP is, with anmes such as:

'Cleric Captain USA (Dustari)' (No offense, CapUSA. I like you, but your name makes me sick. Especially how it is now.)

'Serf Kitty (Dustari)' (I guess I never read that bit in history when they talked about people called 'Kitty' being surfs. Especially walking and talking cats called Kitty.

There are tons more, but these were the only two I noticed while I wrote this.

Cool names, huh? I only wish we could re-write our history and legend-packed books to where Sir Lancealot could be called PimPin2001 and King Arthur could be called King WoofWoof.

But, okay; let's ignore that. This is Graal2001 after all. No one knows the meaning of an original name, nor do they have any idea what RPing is. So, let me continue:

(My post is getting too long, so I'll finish with a list.)

1) The Zormites were AWESOME when they first came out. Hiryuu worked so hard on them and their history, and what happened? These stupid little fish-bomys were created, publicized, and made tons of people want to be Zormites JUST so they can be these dumb little fish-bomys. I made a preiction that soon enough all the Zormites would tire of the little bomys, and sure enough, they did; right after Hiryuu quit his loving kingdom, because he couldn't stand that it turned into a damn laughing stock. I liked the Zormite Kingdom a lot. But now, I go there and see some stupid hardly intimidating little fish guarding the throne room, and it makes me sick. Also, since when do castle have an area called the 'Run'nJump' area? I guess I missed that part in the movie First Knight, when they all went to do some fun running 'n jumping after they won a war.

2) Ever noticed that the Dustari have a CAPTURE THE FLAG area outside their castle? When I saw this, I was speechless, for once. All I could do was sit in my chair and twitch. I don't understand. I just DON'T UNDERSTAND, why there would be such a stupid non-RPing event in the RolePlaying area of Graal2001. Oh wait, I just answered that - this is Graal2001. It makes no damn sense.

3) The Samurai kingdom was flawless. Sure, the farming area is pretty lame, with the NPCs that say 'Apples are cute! :-)' and crap like that. But, soon enough, it will be as crappy and hilarious as the other two kingdoms. In fact, it's starting already. Have you seen their castle gates lately? They're guarded by ferocious, walking, surprisnlgy not-talking, cowboy CACTUSES. According to some people, Drakaden drew those for us. Man, I wish I were cool and could get payed for drawing cactuses. I envy his genius-like mind. How does he come up with these things?


I don't know what to do, honestly. I'm a Police on Graal2001. I like helping people, despite how badly they treat me, and despite the fact that they call ME corrupt, simply because someone else makes them mad. I hate not being able to RolePlay on there like I was able to at the beginning, but it doesn't bother me TOO much, sicne I can RP on Valikorlia.

But still.. I thought Graal2001 would be great, given time. I could see three divisions of a normal PKing and newbie infested world that would be DIFFERENT, filled with people that had brains, and people who could RolePlay.

I was wrong.

Ive been asking whats a good RP name in the kingdom lately so ^_^

If these kingdoms are supposed to be for RPing then get rid of the stupid things that u mentioned. Such as the zormite transform. This is getting outta hand. The kingdoms should be "Downsized" if its for RPing, then build the castle or whatever, make a tag system. and leave it to that. There shouldnt be things like the Dustari's own bar, and farming area. And the samurai are in my mind, the least "modernized" kingdom. Though the walking cowboy cactuses outside are pushing it. The Zormites are.... well.. just.... gone. They onle resurfaced cause of the kingdom wars. And the pirate crew. They arent bad. in fact, they are second to the Samurai. but like i said, downsize things like the Dustari kingdom, and just get rid of Zormites. Turn their castle into an underwater quest or something.

Sorry, I made a mistake. Vergil informed me that TrueHeat made the cactuses. Honestly, it's surprising coming from him. But, I'm sure he did it for a good reason. Still, it starts with something silly, and eventually sparks someone else to create something really stupid (i.e Tyne made silly fish people, Stefan made he Zormite Kingdom a laughing stock.)

Valikorlia isn't "ruined" for me, I go there every day to RP with friends, maybe it doesn't reach the good times when it had 60-70 people but it can still be fun since almost everyone there RPs :p.

This is why I suggested moving the kingdoms to a sub-area of Graal2001 so it wouldn't have CTF arenas in the middle of it and pet bomies walking around on top of water.

Vergil: Valikorlia was sort of forced to be p2p. I was convince dby Stefan that we would no longer be neglected, and that he would help us constantly with things, if we became p2p. So, I agreed. FUnny thing is, he connected a few times, then left. So did I, when I moved to England. I came back once I hooked up my computer, and wow; still no Stefan, and I'm left fixing Valikorlia once again. I love my life. ^_^

My mistake: I forgot about the Pirate Crew. They seem to be having fun RPing and doing 'RP events', but honestly, I don't think many of them have much talent. And I think it's hilarious that they call themselves a 'Kingdom'. I don't remember Blackbeard the Pirate being called King Blackbeard of the Pirate Kingdom.. but I guess I was, once again, wrong! :)

Actually, I never MADE the underground kingdom, because what you said is what I feared, that my kingdom would become some place filled with games and k3wl NPC's. I didn't want that. Yes, the kingdom idea was MEANT for RP, but now just about anyone can join by saying "CAN IJOIN DUSTARI???//// HEAR SI MY STORY :MY PARENTS DIED SO IBECOME A CLERCI THE END"

And the fish thing REALLY killed the Zormite empire. It's the natural reaction of people, they all want the newest, greatest weapons.

I originally thought the cactuses were for the Graal desert he said he was making, they look great but I don't know what cowboy cactuses have to do with Samurai :-/.

THT Explained this before. It's because untill the cowboy kingdom or something gets up, that's where the cowboys are staying.

Grall 2001... NewMain has been overrun my mindless players... they dont realize that other people are plying too. This is not Zelda, Its not a 1 person game. They need a n00b and a rp training area befor they can let people Play on NewMain.

sorry, but i don't care about RP

I dont think we could have Role Playing in a server that wasnt originally RPing. We have 3/4 not RPing and the other 1/4 RPing

I see the same thing...

While I was gone for a month, everything changed. I come back and there are all these kingdoms. I come to Dustari and there are like 50 members. As I speak to my advisors, we still do not know what to do. I hope King Asuka is soon back to fix this problem, because I cant run this kingdom. I have people who beg and beg and suck up to me to join, then when I say no they totally turn on me and hate me, like the Zulan inciddent.

Everyday I see like 10 new members in Dustari. People ask me to join so I try and give them a little RP test and I laugh so hard to see them ask what RP means. We have too many ranks its confusing...and too many people want higher and higher and higher ranks.

When I see people abusing Miri, I go and hide him in my room and everyone gets mad at me. I feel bad that all the other kingdoms dont have a bridge and locked rooms so I am going to talk to Stefan about removing Miru, and maybe let the bridge stay down more. All I see when I go to the bridge is Dustarians fighting on wether it should be down or not.

What I hate most is how everyone hates us now. We are basically the kingdom that is easy to get into with Newbie or No RPers that has cool NPC's that are abused. =\. I hate how there are at least 10+ members on all the time. I hate how as soon as a pirate or anyone comes about a few graal levels away from the castle we get in toguilds "SHUT THE GATE AN INTRUDER OMG GET MIRU HURRY" etc.

I am going to try and fix this problem as much as I can, but it is hard to see who has the Dustari tag when you cant see who has it. If anyone sees someone who is dishonorable, please notify a high ranking officer

It was my worst fear that drove me not to make the underground kingdom. Becoming a laughing stock. Everyone now complains that dustari has *way* too many confidential NPC's. And this was actually discussed when the kingdom idea was actually coming into play. "RPing is it's own reward." Apparently, it isn't. And even when they DO get a reward, they do absolutely NO Rping whatsoever. Wasn't the whole point of kingdoms to RP? Or did I miss something?

Whenever Asuka comes back, I'm sure he's going to leave graal forever when he sees what mess things have become. I feel sorry for him.

Yeah. I'm sorry, Lynz. It really sucks to see you suffer like that. And, yeah, Vermain; he probably will, unless he actually wants to try and fix it.

As for Omnim00gle. Yes, you're right. It was unfair for the RPing peole to come in and do so. But, it's also unfair for you to ignore the fact that they were simply trying to not let Graal history repeat itself. I'm sure you've seen Graal Main. People with brains hate it, usually, simply because it's an absoulutely idiotic land filled with PKers, lamers, no-brained newbies, and even hackers. When you don't have intelligent people trying to think up intelligent ideas, you get a server like that. RolePlaying is something that can FIX a world, or at least bits and pieces of it. We're not FORCING you to RP. If you hate us, fine; go play with your fellow PKers. Stay out of the Kingdoms.

I can defend TrueHeaT by saying that he DID draw the cactuses, but he never thought they would be used to guard the Samurai Kingdom, we both think it's a horribly stupid concept.

I made the cactuses to be an NPC race in a desert i was going to make
stefan decided to put them up in the samurai place
i'm not thrilled either.

The "cowboy" thing was an excuse for the cactuses being there that brady made up because there was no real reason to be there. I take pride in having the best roleplayers I've seen in my kingdom, or the largest number of good roleplayers in a kingdom. I agree with all of Malak's points, so far the dustari have been more involved with 'owning' us at CTF and calling me '***' than RPing, minus zulithe and a few other great people. The Zormite kingdom was great until the stupid fish. Right now the Samurai and the Zormites are almost as one. Their former leader is now a samurai and we treat them as if they are one of us. Most of them have samurai tags too, although they get kind of edgey when we talk about sushi. I didn't create ANY of the farming malak, I have very limited control over my town, no FTP, it makes things very hard. I hope it gets better.

That is why I want access to add/remove members and tags. I know what Asuka wanted because I talked about it with him for a while before he left. He told me all of his visions for it and what he wanted. He didn't want all these stupid members and stupid roles.

I do that all the time, I just lock him in my room. Like someone else said in a different thread, Miru should be limited to the royal family only. I wouldn't want him removed though, using him in a RP event can be rather interesting.
Again, I think only the royal family should have access to lowering/raising the bridge.

That's why we should have some requirements to join. Maybe pass a test, write up background information about your RP chatacter like Val did, or other stuff that they haveto do in order to join. See above on what should happen with Miru.

I wish stefan would be nice and give samurai and zormites and pirates the cool bonuses that dustari have. I also wish stefan would make the samurai castle because a LOT of people are waiting for it and i think it would make a better improvement than some silly minigame
