Guess what comes out on my Birthday?
 

The X-Box comes out on my birthday! Microsoft announced it today.

"In honor of Zulithe's birthday, we are proud to announce the nationwide release of the X-Box on none other than November 8th!"

Well actually, it didn't go like that. But similar. It really does come out on my birthday though.

And it will be $299 to buy one. I'm not gonna buy one (at least for a few months after it is released to get a feel for what kind of games it will have) but just wanted to let you all know

yeah I'm more excited about gamecube than x-box. But... only time will tell which system is really better (I'm betting on nintendo though)

i saw some pics at EB i n the mall where i live (no i do not live in the mall) and it looked smaller than PS2 alsmost size of the first Nintendo, which i am trying to get (it is sweeeeeeT)

I cant remember what new channel it was...(probably CNN or something similar) but it had a nice video of one of GC's games *drools* plus had Shigeru Myiamoto talking about the GC....mentioning the fact that the controller makes a noise when rumbling.....

as for the X-box.....keep in mind that it has a pentium class processor.....which of course has a nice floating point error in it....which gets bigger with each generation :D SO i wouldn't waste my money on an x-box.....besides....just use your pc instead.....TVs have lower resolution than a pc monitor. And also those screen shots are not what they seem....the x-box in fact may be closer to being in between the ps2 and GC....if those shots are fake.

I would much rather have a Gamecube, because its original in its concept....even though its just a game console

eck.......makes me sick......i would much rather save and reserve a Gamecube....will be far cheaper to purchase than x-box.....plus will have better quality games :D AND ZELDA, METROID,PERFECT DARK, etc.

X-box has nothing that is as good.......nothing that can come close to those few games i mentioned.......hehe, nothing

This is going to be a very tough race between Microsoft and Nintendo! My faith lies in Nintendo but Microsoft has the most marketing muscle (they are doing promotions at Taco Bell and stuff)

I wonder who will win the console wars?

Maybe we will soon get the XBox developer thing
and release Graal for it :-)

PS2 = Overhyped piece of rubbish with no good games yet.

DC = Good games but dead in the water.

XBox = Promising, but blighted by stupid Japan's lack of support. They'll only succeed in the East if they bring out horse dating sims.

GC = Nice, but I don't know if Nintendo will survive another war, especially with Microsoft. They may well end up going the same way Sega did.

Kaimetsu's favourite: The XBox. Powerful and programmer-friendly. As long as you don't mind the price tag, that is.

Hmm, one of the main reasons I'm getting GameCube is for Super Smash Brothers 2.

Microsoft can just port the 135929846702496094276 PC games out there.

I heard that too. Looks like Sega really is scraping the bottom of the barrel, although it'll probably come out alright in the end. It's always had a fairly turbulent time with developing hardware.
