Andor - Project
 

Hello Graalians. Andor is doing a new project, not gonna give any details, you can wait till its finished.

But for now, im looking for some Level Designers. We need, good talented Level Designers. If you whish, post screens in this thread of your work, or email me your work and a brief description of your Graal History.

A few Details:
- RPing System, with levels and skills
- Classes
- Armor System
- Items/Weapons (Not Magi, I mean weapons)

Im not going to say the new special effects of the server.
We could also use a few nats, but you have to be VERY Skilled in that section.

Ok, I will explain a little.

I have always attended Andor to be RP, like when I was creating it. But it was decided not to, but now im doing it.

Now, by RP I dont mean like [looks at him] Rping.. I mean RPing as in Gameplay. Like Player Levels, Skills..

By Skills I mean, say your mining right. When you first start you are a Level 1 miner, but as you mine, you gain levels. And as you gain levels, the fast and better Oars you may recieve. The Armor, as of now dont do anything, its more for Player looks.

There are some other minor systems, a Gralat system, where you have money bags, there are 4 levels. Each one can only carry a defined amount of Gralats. But you are able to keep Gralats in your Bank account. But you can only carry so man.

For Weapons, Im making alot. But you can only have 4 weapons tops. But you can trade them, sell them, what ever you want.

One of the major things im working on is a Horse like on Zelda 4. Where your horse will act as a bomy pet almost. It wont follow you, but it will randomly walk around the world. And when you play the special Flute, it will run to you. May take a while depending on where it is. Now, this is VERY Hard to create. But im working on it. There will also be weather effects, rain, fog etc. We are making our own bodys. Ummm... the overworld is 458 Levels. And YES we are Tiling EVERY single level. So far, the levels are great, our new Level Admin (Sir Venom) is very Leet.

Is that good ?

The flute is nothing man, try making the horse run towards you from anywhere on the server, that is what we are trying to do.

example...
The horse is like, 14 levels to your left.. you use the flute, play da special song.. then it will say that your horse is coming, then it will run to you, from its current location. Now, you can "NOT" say that that isnt hard, its almost impossible. But we will do it.

The other thing that we are doing that is rather hard is weather. Making the acual snow and rain script is easy, but making it random and what not could be kinda hard.

I am mostly looking for LATS, we have 5 good Nats already,
Pixie Kitie,Char,Austin... Im good myself, and Brandon is good.

When u make the snow thing then do so when it snow the world get snow levels THAT will be cool :D
Same for rain then there will come some small places of water...

Those are really good ideas. Thanx. The snow one I already thought of, got the snow tiles half done ^_^

We are making our own Tiles aswell, like bushes, trees houses, signs etc.

We are making some amazing jobs aswell too.

What I meant was that I wouldn't work for Andor even if you paid me DOLLAZ

Personaly, I dont like Classes either. But I figure it would lay out the players skills a bit more.

This sounds quite cool.. we need a wheater dude :P

Im gonna do something that no playerworlds have;
Treasures. But you have to find them, digging, and sometimes under objects.

Maybe for one of the Treasures it will be some Flute or something that if you learn the special song for it, you can make it rain in like a 4 level radius or something. ^_^

Everything will be new. No early releases, it will be out when its done. ETA atleast a month. I will post screenshots soon. Tomorrow most likely.

Actually, the running thingy is quite easy to do. Look at the bomy-pet code. Notice that every timeout cycle it checks to see if the owner of the bomy is saying "bomy o bomy". If the owner is, the bomy uses the warpto command. Take this section of the bomy:

This seems to be a repeating pattern, ever since it went P2P.

1. Announce the 'remake' of your PW.
2. Promise amazing and great things of it.
3. Hire new staff (Whoever just happens to log onto the server and asks for a job)
4. Release it.
5. It ends up being a huge dissapointment once again.
6. Announce the 'remake' of your PW.

So far, since Bravo of course, the current version of Andor is the absolute best the PW has gotten. Whenever the server ever seems to begin making any progress, you start again.

I have to agree.

Andor was a good server in the beggining(I think) but it's slowly fallen. You have just too many staff. There's no one to play it.

And yet I still log on to find some new guy who's an Admin, some new Police..... I get a threat that my house will go up for auction to someone else if I dont pay my rent, yet my rent hadn't been reset in a month, it still said the whole rent had been paid. Everyone abuses the bank bug and gets 10,000,000 rupees, including staff. The Admin's do nothing to fix that. I have 5,000 rupees in the bank(That I worked for), and now the bank is closed, I cannot get at them. So while I get threats to get my house taken down and people running around with 10,000,000 buying hats left and right, I have 7g.

The Admins dont do anything about any of this. And I must say, you have waaaay too many admins, you'd think one of them would do something.

its the same with all servers, they just start to get good, then they release a new one...start to build it, it gets half done ,they start again, the only server i know of apart from classic and 2k1 not to do that is unholynation, still in its original form, but still being added too... oh and atlantis i believe is still nearly the same. thats why those servers are so popular...... learn from your mistakes, dont keep making the same one, and making the horse come from 5 levels away is easy with npc server.

Man, you guys are some funny ppl.

The stuff that im trying to tacle for this new andor, you dont even know what is going on behind the sceans. And im not going to tell you either. Most of the effects I have talked about, are only minor. We have some really Awsome Effects we are working on right now. We also have 1 NPC System that NO ONE has made yet, but its on G2k2. Thats fine though, and im not going to tell either.

I bet Faheria has tried, or thought about making it. Its really gonna be sweet. Well, im sorry buy you guys will have to just sit tight and wait. Patience is a virtue my friend.

And about the Armor, every game in the whole world uses Armor if you want to get technical. Ours really will not do much, it will update itself in Levels. Like you start off with Armor Level 1. And as you increase your Level, and your HP it will rise itself. There are going to be about 20 or maybe more levels of Armor.

We are thinking of going to the extreme where you can only have a certain amount of wieght in your bag. If you go over it, then you have to drop some items.

Okay, Agility is a 100% go. I just thuoght of something, Agility System would make the Playerworld even more RPish.

Your in the vast Forests, no where near a villige, being chased by a PKer at night, you are running, then you start to lose Agility .. now your getting slower, and now you are panting.. ohh no, now you have no energy.. then the PKer Pks you, and its hard to fight cuz your soo slow, and stopin at random times.

People can brag, and brag, but when the final thing comes out, it's just another dissapointment.
And Bravo/Andor has gone through this like 10 times by now.

And I don't know why the hell you would even consider hiring back Kaiden...

You're talking about making the playerworld more "RPish", yet in your description you talk about a PKer chasing you.

and even then, shouldn't agility be called stamina or endurance instead?

Good thing you said that, your quite right. But we usually test all our **** aswell as grammer. ^_^

And that is RPish, but I used the term "PKer" Should of said like, enemy or something. But that is a good effect, I like it. And the fact that you cant pause outdoors, only indoors.

And Ineed Playerworlds change. But I will tell you something, I got a job at a Company right, and im a IT Graphic/Webdesigner, and im acually living at the main office where I have 4 Computers on Highspeed Networks with T3 Connections. And for 1, im not quiting this job, im never gonna get fire they are so impressed with my work. Im learning C++ and Java right now, got 3 books on the go for that.

But that isnt the point, the point is that I have around 6 hours from monday to friday to do what ever I want, hint graal. Weekends im free the whole time.

Im just trying to say that, Andors productivity right now is satisfactory, not enough to get shutdown, so how is making a new world going to effect anything?

Bragging, I was simply stating that, that was my situation right now. Nothing wrong with that is there, and I think your either jealous, or you dislike me. And I do know that you dont like me, no clue why. And this is supposed be about Andor anyways.

We do have alot of Admins, and im currently doing things about it. I have to say, the new Rc is amazing. Stefan did a great job on that :D . Im mostly leeting ppl try out for the fact that, you can not be that good at levels, but spend a few days doing it, and learning from other ppl, it really helps out alot. I went from crappy levels to good in 1 day just from talking to Gori. He showd me tons of stuff I never noticed. Its not exactly hard to make nice levels, you just have to think logically really.

Congratulations on your job, but what does that have to do with Andor?
As far as your Admins go, I don't see how you expect to make a successful server with them. I have seen people log on and get a job immediately. Maybe that's why almost the whole population of Andor is staff?

Yes, you have a few good people, but from what I've seen, most of the staff don't do anything. Or what they do is low quality.

And if the new onlinestartlocal is a sample of what the New Andor will be, it doesn't have a chance. Your old one was a hell of a lot better.

And Sym, it's not you I don't like, it's Andor.
