new staff system that pays?
okay, this idea just hit me! so, no one wants to be low staff on g2k1 for one reason: no power, all you get is a tag. well, i think i might have a solution to that problem. in an effort to redeem myself and get more people to help g2k1 i've devised a semi-constructed solution *clears throat*
if you're a level builder and you build levels and actually do your job, you would get to keep your Level Builder tag. now, if stefan or someone could script a system that logged how long you were on the tag and it multiplied the time the tag was worn for by a percentage of however valuable you were to the g2k1 staff in a value of gralat, so... Muroshi (Auctioneer) logged for 1 hour [1 hr/30g] auctioneer is a pretty low and not too tedious staff job, so you wouldn't be paid that much. lets say 30g an hour? grr, i know it's a bit confusing. just try your best to understand =P if you stayed on the tag for an hour or more, then you'd have the amount of hours converted to your earned wages. think of it as clocking in and out of work of course the higher staff jobs wouldn't be paid or maybe they could. but the tedious jobs such as coding npc scripts, building levels, and making graphics should require paying the player a few gralats. the coordinator of each department could specify the worst of their staff to someone who manages the staff system that issues out the payments. it's just an idea, feel free to critisize(sp?) or add your own ideas |
Nice
I like the idear :D

rofl, mad idead ;), but that would keep staff on 25/7 O.o and everyone would have 1 more reason to keep mass msg's off. I can see very clearly :D: WTF! I'm SO L33T! I WANNA b Rc! WHERES TEH IP AND PROT? WHATS A PROT!?
|
Police should get paid then. We're one of the hardest working staff groups...

Good idea but that will increase the gralat count on the server even more.

you get taxed a certain amount, depending on how much gralat you already have. If you own a bomy, then you can afford taxes, so you get taxed a bit more. :) |
But then people would just keep the tags on all the time the level builders dont work that often so they would be getting paid for wearing a tagg they do nothing to help the players there and then they build a level why pay them? Players would have to work for money and these 'level makers' would get it for doing pretty much nothing they are not doing a job every hour they have the tag on.

Then it'll be obvious and we take the money away. |

if I was staff, I would put my tag on and start making money by like farming or something,
but in all seriousness, I think the staff should get like 5g and hour, that would seem fair. |

I don't see any logic in this. First of all if the time on tag was logged, it would encourage low level staff to use their tags when not working even more. Plus some staff except police do get something from their job.
Auctioneers get to auction off their own products for free, as well as collect money from people who chicken out of purchases. Events Team members really don't get anything except being liked by most people if they are good, but they mostly pay for their own events so paying them would just, well be paying for their events instead. However ET's do get tips (sometimes large ones) to keep for themselves as I have seen when I was ET, don't know about now though. FAQ's get to....errr.....it's easier to get a better staff job later if you are FAQ first. I have never heard of there being a "lack of staff" as is evident by all the "FAQ is not hiring", "ET is not hiring", "Auctioneer Team is not hiring" PMs sent out. |

I am a high staff position, with no powers or benifits, and police only get the ability to jail people (for there job) so what about us?
|
Sorry, but I dislike this idea. I would only agree with it if we had perfect HROs, and getting Police would be like getting GP, etc. Too many people are staff, and they could easily idle, like I see many staff on Classic do. This would just bring arguments and more fighting on the forums because somene was idling on their FAQ tag or whatever. Staff is optional, which means you are not forced to do it. This will bring a huge problem for the admins, because then everyone would want to be staff even more than they do now. Perhaps if we had everyone be good staff, then I would possibly agree on something like "if you serve many hours and show hard work, you get warpto for a couple of days". This would not be for warping around, but more as making your job more easier. The only reason people want staff is for power. No one can say I am wrong, but many people will. It is not to help Graal, it is to get control, so everyone will look up to you and other things like that. People will still want to be staff without this idea, and they will be more corrupt if this idea is in effect.
|
....There is no shortage of staff or a shortage of people who want to become staff.
|
police have a warp to on 2k1, and faq need one too
|
FAQ's answer player orianted questions. THere is no reason they NEED warpto to do their job. No oossible explanation is possible on why we should give FAQ warpto powers.
|
I don't like the idea a lot. It encourages idling and it will be another reason for twisted selfish little children who want power in their hands to try to be staff
|
Ever tried to tell someone how to do z labs or wanted to just lend someone a hand with a quest? you try dealing with on average 3-4 pms every 7-10 minutes it can get bother some thats where warpto comes in, and I dont mean warp to like say level name and xy I mean an item like police has where it lists location pick one and you get warped there, even so faq need something we have a very very hard job
|
What position exactly do you hold Frank. You said it is high level staff
|
I am FAQ, if its on the staff list, its a high position to me
|
FAQ is on the staff list so people who need questions can quickly see who is on. And newbies who don't know the showguild FAQ function, or even know that FAQ is to help people.
The high staff would be Stefan, Loriel, Nightlord etc. But I don't want to argue with you on where you are on the ladder. |
no payment.

nice idea (NOT)
|
erm... okay, how about this?
you could pay the staff according to what they do or how helpful they are and not how long they wear their tag. if you submit a lot of levels do lots of work, you'd get paid more for producing more bah, maybe it was a bad idea after all |
