The GUI is sexy, and the syntax highlighting is what I was hoping for, it will make reading over script easier

HoudiniMan 11-13-2003 07:20 AM

Can't say im really a fan of the red color or the swirly corners thing...

Kaimetsu 11-13-2003 08:14 AM

I wonder just how many times I'll have to tell people that the GUI will be customisable.

-Ramirez- 11-13-2003 03:02 PM

Curious... the colored text. Please tell me that can be done in the showtext string, or there is some way that allows you to put font codes in the actual string...

It would be horrible if each different colored word was a new showimg.

Otherwise, that just greatly increased my desire to have 3.1. *steals*

Loriel 11-13-2003 03:33 PM

No showimgs at all... customizable GUI elements.

That's good. I figured it would be highly illogical to make them all showimgs, but you never know. ;)

Sorry if this has been covered but i didn't notice it explicity mentioned other than being able to be changed... Will we just be able to edit image files that are plugged into the right spot on the GUI? Do we know how that's gonna work?

No, you'll most likely be able to specify skins.

zell12 11-14-2003 03:24 PM

Hey Kai, with the GUI be customizable? Hehe just playin.

Is there any sort of screenshot we can peek at. :)

RC

I think that for the new graal.net servers....All Admin-Playerworld accounts should get the rights....Inivisible on Playerlist

Hmmm Negative....The Admin-Playerworld account isnt even yours to keep, you just have it for as long as your server's rent time is valid or the server goes public, so if your rent time ends, you lose the account and the server unless you pay for extra months, or if you go public, you lose the account. Invisible on playerlist is a command for global staff, it shouldnt be accessable to players just because they have an "admin-playerworld##" account.

Then it should be accessible to Owners/Managers

Gambet 11-15-2003 07:15 PM

Negative once again.....That's a special right that only the global staff can have, regualar owners/managers have no buisness being invisible in the playerlist, if they wanted to do that then they should get on a trial account and survelliance there staff's performance or do whatever they wouldve done if they had the right.

Duwul 12-02-2003 05:09 AM

This may sound stupid, but are we going to have to script the RC weapon? Also, will we be able to modify the script of it? I noticed in one of Jagen's screenshots the script of the RC.

zell12 12-02-2003 07:06 AM

Hey umm, so I'm kinda clueless. Will we be able to use RC off the client? I don't want to log on to make levels and use RC. x.x

no. well, unless you use the old one. which will soon become totally outdated because with the rc being scripted in gscript it can be updated very easily.

in v3, the way i understand it, you have to be logged on to make levels anyways. the editor is going to be scripted in gscript.

zell12 12-03-2003 12:01 AM

Well, i'm too lazy to make levels no anyway, I have no motovation.

I think it was somewhere in this thread that said we will be able to edit the script for RC, however we won't have to make it from scratch.

ZeLpH_MyStiK 01-18-2004 04:28 AM

God, I want that version of Graal v3 with RC that Python has so badly...
::Pokes Python really hard::
-Learning Python the scripting language lol-

Blitz_Hunter 01-23-2004 07:48 PM

Sure has been awhile since an update on this 'new RC' :o

KuJiGX 02-04-2004 03:54 AM

With the new scripting engine, it should be possible without lagging..=x

R0bin 02-04-2004 06:20 AM

the rc wont be a weapon, it will be an embedded script in the engine itself, which utillises the socket api fo the engine to connect to graal as a special type of RC, called a clientrc.

... no.

R0bin 02-04-2004 05:37 PM

then enlighten me, instead of just saying "no" in that stoic german way.

dlang 02-13-2004 01:45 AM

It will be a scripted weapon ... only part of it will be unchangeable I think.

Duwul 03-10-2004 01:52 AM

Any new screenies we can see?

Johnny_5 03-10-2004 05:10 AM

Is the project still going on ?

osrs 03-10-2004 06:48 PM

::backs up a second::

Theres going to be a socket API?

Im curious to see the security issues with this 3.1 client...

Duwul 03-11-2004 05:44 AM

I believe Loriel stated earlier that it wont be.

I believe he also corrected me over aim =p

Duwul 03-11-2004 04:48 PM

Ahh.

Loriel 03-30-2004 04:27 PM

Anybody mind me unsticking this? I figure we can bump and sticky it again once we need more input and stuff, but I do not think the RC is being worked on atm.

nullify 06-24-2004 11:55 AM

Somewhat lame idea(s). But aliases would be nice for the people who like to set their nickname to an extremely long length. Allowing you to set the visible alis for your personal display to save chat space. And toggle-able timestamps would be a godsend.

Trevor 06-24-2004 05:18 PM

Stop commiting thread necromancy, now.

matt8891 06-24-2004 05:25 PM

Who revieved this thread anywho........

Loriel 06-24-2004 05:33 PM

Not that hard to find out... ?
Nullify.

Solar_T 09-07-2004 01:23 PM

No posts recently, but on teh off chance this is still monitored, I do have a suggestion for the new RC. And forgive me if this has already been mentioned, there is just a lot of text to read, so may have missed it.

Anyway, the idea is that folders can actually be deleted, instead of existing forever. This, I feel, can to some extent help both Server staff and the hard disk. For example. Managers might like having "rw */*" as thier folder rights, so they automatically have access to everything. But even old folders, long deleted from the folder configuration still show up, and I've seen it cause conflict with other folders. Now as for the hard disk, being able to fully remove a folder would give the system less junk on the hard disk. I know this doesn't affect the system as much as files, so it would more to help better organize.

zokemon 09-07-2004 05:21 PM

I infact probly already posted that but I want that too ;o
