About ganis: will increase to 50 sprites per frame per direction in the next version, would that be ok?

I think that works, sure.

On a different note, why did you delete some posts about that error with the packager you're using? That's pretty easy to figure out yourself, you know.

Crono 10-15-2012 04:44 PM

Playerlist and profiles look better with the theme Fowlplay4 attached. The rest of the GUI looks bad though (serverlist etc).

You can't highlight the level name in profiles, should fix that up as I tend to copy paste that a lot when I'm working on levels or warping around.

If I have a Window (like a Windows Live conversation) open in the background and I close an external PM and then the external playerlist, instead of focusing on Graal it will alt tab to that Window.

I have a Connect 4 Grid gani with 199 sprites in a frame.

Admins 10-15-2012 11:00 PM

Wow x-x

BlueMelon 10-16-2012 12:22 AM

@Connect4
That could have been made alot simpler O_o

On GMAPs however, nickname text is displayed above players, the exception to this is when you are in the top left level of a GMAP:

I forgot about this problem.

Also displays like particle effects are still offset whenever using a trial account that has entered observer mode.

I really think VPlusblue style should have only been set as default for if and when the option is separated for external windows. It looks slick for the playerlist, but makes my eyes bleed on the login screen.

Admins 10-19-2012 12:47 AM

VPlusBlue is now the default GUI style, but I will try to add an option for separate gui styles for internal and external windows before release.

alskdjfhg 10-19-2012 02:04 AM

Can't open playerlist

If you can make fowlplay4's theme the GUI style for player profiles, the playerlist, PM windows, and F3 options, then that would be a huge improvement. :)

Default is better, sorry.

I know you've been posting like a ***** since you stepped down from manager, but you can stop the "troll" now...I can't even tell when you're serious or not anymore.

I can assure you I am very serious, there's just too much white and it's very distracting and some what blinds me if I have the lights off. The Blue looks a lot better, and simple.

I know this, which is why I posted:

In general I do agree, it makes the serverlist and the bar on the bottom look like crap. It improves the other windows by a lot though.

Tim_Rocks 10-19-2012 11:24 PM

Okay, if most customization was allowed, then it would probably be a lot better. For now though, I am okay with the default GUI.

Also, did some screen shots, the middle is the best, but I wish there wasn't so much white, it can be very blinding.

Ya that's why people asked for the option to set different skins for the different windows. I assume internal will include the "start" bar, main menu, serverlist, etc while external will include profiles, playerlist, pm's, options, etc.

Crow 10-20-2012 11:41 AM

That XP one is alright-ish. It has blue scrollbars; instead, VPlusBlue has blue buttons. I can't say which I dislike more, to be honest. Probably the blue scrollbars.

Crono 10-20-2012 02:49 PM

rly don't get why we can't just have a nice GUI. so much graphical talent (aeko, crow, dusty, elk)...collab time? *Crono (GAT Admin)?

You can't hide your graphical past from the all-seeing :pluffy:!

Plus you used to (or still do) give gfx related advice.

No, Crono knows I've been doing some graphics, see:

I'm really not all that good, though. Never was. It is, however, true, that I still give advice.

For instance, lets say I do this serverside:

PHP Code:

this.attr[3] = "1Death,account2,account3,etc"

When attempting to read this.attr[3] clientside, it would always be read as "1". Only by doing temp.s = @this.attr[3]; could I access the value.

At one point I also attempted to store a list of player IDs rather than accounts, this caused the problem of the attr[] somehow not synchronising to clients while working normally serverside.

Although not specific to the V6 client, this is still a problem.

fowlplay4 10-22-2012 12:18 AM

Not sure if it's related to the new client Stefan released this afternoon but yay :) we finally can change internal and external window styles.

Clockwork 10-22-2012 12:35 AM

New update fixed my issues with not being able to open v6...

(now fix external rc <3 )

thank you. :3

Admins 10-22-2012 01:07 AM

Ah just sent a PM...
Ok

A new Graal version has been released: v6.035:

- Added options for in-game and external gui style:
New script variable $pref::Video::externalguistyle, new event onExternalStyleChanges. It is recommended to now use $pref::Video::externalguistyle for external windows, will also update the Linux version sometime soon for this. For best compatibility you can use ("-Serverlist").getGUIStyle() and ("-Serverlist").getExternalGUIStyle() (which will fall back to $pref::Video::defaultguistyle for older versions)
- Fixed problems with the playerlist not opening
- Fixed some problems with the packager we use to bundle files in Graal (which was sometimes preventing it from starting)
- When GUI controls are destroyed it will correctly redraw the parent control
- Fixed the position of particle effects on the screen for trial players or when GraalControl is moved
- Ganis now allow up to 50 sprites per frame per direction
- Fixed a crashing problem with the scripting engine which had problems when GUI controls or TStaticVars were destroyed in some cases, this also optimized it a little bit

There is still a strange problem with the windows, were it puts the game in background if you close several external GUI windows, will check this sometime.

Crono 10-22-2012 01:17 AM

Can you add player profiles to the external style?

fowlplay4 10-22-2012 03:11 AM

V6 Function Request:

PHP Code:

// This will do exactly what paused and 100ap does -- player doesn't block and swords do nothing.
InvinciblePlayer(seconds); // Makes the player invincible for a set amount of time
InvinciblePlayer2(); // Makes the player invincible until it uses...
UnInvinciblePlayer();

player.dontblock();
player.blockagain();

Cheers. :)

I noticed in V6 that I can't highlight and copy the Level: area. For example level13.nw, I can't highlight it and copy it. Is it possible to make this text highlight/copyable?

edit- I switched to OpenGL to see if my font will look nicer (like in V5) and now I can't open options or playerlist. I restarted Graal and unchecked OpenGL but now my playerlist and options don't work! :cry:

This happened to me as well, except I am able to open the f3 options. It's been broken since the previous v6 release.

Admins 10-22-2012 09:05 PM

Hmmm quite strange if it's not opening, which OS are you using? I can reproduce the problem by resizing the window directly after creating it, but usually that should not happen. Strange world of Windows >_<

Windows 7. It works now, though. I think if you like...disable Open GL and then run V5 your V6 playerlist will work again.

Would also be nice if PM windows all opened where you closed them and if the playerlist/PMs would remember how you sized it and placed it last. :D

It must have something to do with switching on or off OpenGL, because that's what Crono and I did when it stopped working.
