A new player would earn more points for beating someone with a lot more points, and a person with a lot of points wouldn't get much reward for beating a scrub off of Era, instead, they'd get the most points beating someone above or equal to them, or at least closer to their level.

We've been considering implementing a "deck rating" system (as night calls it,) though the full details aren't thought of at this time. How long would it take to implement (if DC even wants to) is another issue, but it's definately something we've talked about.

Gotenks_Gore 04-17-2009 06:29 AM

that would be nice...

yay.

saveing for the 25 one is far better than going for the 10

Remonq 04-17-2009 04:05 PM

it is getting pretty ridiculous i admit. maybe the people with ****tier cards shouldn't play people like squirt and dae who are intentionally poaching people with worse decks than theirs

Hey you know people can change their decks right? It's fairly easy for someone to take out all their level cards and then play.

i highhly recommended noob not to play you , but you still tryed to make them play , and you failed

MysticX2X 04-17-2009 05:33 PM

Requesting card exp. You gain levels for the games you win. You can't verse someone below a specific level or something.

Gotenks_Gore 04-17-2009 05:35 PM

make trading rooms where only 2 people can enter at any one time....

BlackSolider 04-17-2009 05:45 PM

@ noob "poaching"

I mentioned it to DC and he didn't see a major problem with it since the noobs he was "teaching" (as squirt claims) continued to play games, and thus he isn't bringing them from era (where hes GP I believe) to claim 1 win and have them leave. I'm still iffy about people facing noobs, especially a bunch of them, so we'll continue to talk about this.

@ trading rooms

I think we can all agree that the current "trading" techniques are pretty lackluster. Although trading rooms would be good for now, we're looking to implement a better trading system. What it is and how long it will take hasn't really been discussed yet.

Keep those suggestions coming folks, it can only improve the card game experience.

jacob_bald6225 04-18-2009 01:06 AM

We should have a trading hotel where two people can purchase a private room for 15 minutes at a time to do their business.

BlackSolider 04-18-2009 02:36 AM

Is that what people rent private rooms at hotels for irl?

kia345 04-18-2009 03:21 AM

Of course, I can understand having a Pokemon battle in public, but things like Yu-Gi-Oh and Graal, you need to do in private.

yeah, they "trade" "goods or services" in a hotel room for 15 minutes at a time.

anyways, imo there should be a GC prize that is essentially a portable game table, kinda like portable chair

put trading rooms now? and take it off later if a new trading system is put into place...

I had the same idea. Would be awesome.

Gotenks_Gore 04-18-2009 05:03 AM

lol, staff would be playing on top of houses....

Remonq 04-18-2009 03:42 PM

imo decks should be rated by the level of cards you have in your deck, L1 cards = 1 point etc, for example, my deck having 1 L1, 2 L2s and 1 L3 would receive a deck rating of 8. maybe rare would receive an extra 2 points and uncommon an extra 1. if that's the case then my deck would be a 10. DC wanted to make it all complicated and give a value to each and every card. but i don't think it's necessary to make it that complicated

kinda like rps.

Edit: Also Can we have challenges? It's annoying when somebody follows you around when 2 people want to play.

I think thats sort of what Night had in mind with his "deck rating" idea, so people with lots of 1s, 2s, and 3s couldn't play people without any of those cards.

Remonq 04-18-2009 04:57 PM

it's all a conscious decision for most players. some people know i have good cards but play me anyway for some reason *shrugs*. i play what games i can get

Shadow87 04-18-2009 05:24 PM

Well ranger i can play you and win. A lot of aspects go into this, the biggest thing though is the fact that a lot of people were able to get high level cards early.

A level restrictions program is a must in my opinion. Otherwise its another problem that will doom the game. Usually a committee is put together to work FAST with what they hear on the feedback, so the fact that DC isn't all of the sudden, does not help this situation.

Remonq 04-18-2009 05:54 PM

i'm thinking of starting a card philanthropy guild of some sort. idk what exactly yet

good idea. like if one person only has lvl 0 cards in his deck, he cant fight someone with more then 4 lvl 1 cards or 2 lvl 2 idk, something balanced you know?

I don't know-- I think multiple decks would be needed for this not to be a hassle. Like where you can repeat cards into multiple decks. So you could build a deck rating of 0 deck. And a deck rating of 1 deck... but using many of the same cards.

BlackSolider 04-18-2009 11:13 PM

We've thought about adding "multiple decks slots" or something to that effect. The issue is scripting, obviously, but we haven't got a major chance to talk about it.

MysticX2X 04-19-2009 12:58 AM

I had an idea about Card Tournies:
Maybe some special tables where you cannot gain wins/losses/points. It would be elimination style. Winner gets 2 points. GC controlled?

Also such bull**** that when I bought a 25 point pack, I had only ONE useful card from that pack and a bunch of level 0's

That would be better once the fad has died down and it needs rehashing in order to maintain interest in the game. I know for a fact that if this was done now, we'd see no other events other than this. We're hardly seeing events as it stands, so the card game really doesn't need to take over those too.

bahamutstevetff 04-19-2009 01:25 AM

this card game seems very much likes the final fantasy card game systems, none the less, most fun ive had on classic ever with this card game system.

BlackSolider 04-19-2009 02:46 AM

We were planning on making a "monthly card tourney" in the future once things got spread out enough. Right now I think we'd know who'd win, or at least who we'd put money on.

MysticX2X 04-19-2009 03:00 AM

future as in 1 month.

EclipsedAngel 04-19-2009 06:52 PM

Not playing this stupid card game anymore.
Sick of losing because bad cards come up at the wrong time.

MysticX2X 04-19-2009 07:24 PM

It's rather funny Donark transfers his card to an alternate account because nobody will play him.

We need deck rating asap.

Gotenks_Gore 04-20-2009 05:56 AM

No we need a less baised randomizer...

Remonq 04-20-2009 06:23 AM

we need penalties for people that farm low-levels

ffcmike 04-20-2009 12:20 PM

My suggestion to the card committee was to split the Game itself into 2 different Modes.

Mode 1 would be as it currently is,
you get to play with the freedom of using cards you have collected, however while there could be special competitions with certain prizes you cannot obtain points via this game mode.

Mode 2 would be entirely down to who plays their cards better,
the cards themself would be randomly determined and the same for both players, although card order would be random,
doesn't necessarily have to be level 0 cards, points would be obtainable only with this mode.

This way would not require a reset.

BlackSolider 04-20-2009 01:54 PM

Did night ever respond to your idea thor?

ffcmike 04-20-2009 01:58 PM

He said something on the lines of it not being a bad idea but he needs to go and lay down.

DarkCloud_PK 04-21-2009 12:01 AM

I'm running tests on how to rate peoples decks before blindly implementing something.

Right now I'm doing average deck levels and seeing the average levels of peoples decks online.
So far Squirt is the highest with an average level of 0.58

How is a deck rated?
