Look at yourself before criticizing others.

I am the retired EM Admin. I never worked on dev or something like this. Now I am still doing support on the support center and for the entire EM Admin.
At last I didn't criticized anyone, I just doubt that some of the people here fits to the requirements.

Who says Stephen and I aren't trustworthy? Why would we be trying to help GK if we were only trying to destroy it? Why would I have spent my countless weekends scripting all day long for GK when I had better things I could have been doing? Why do you think Stephen and I are the only people trying to save GK? Do you think it's because we're cheaters and not trustworthy? Sounds like you're trying to slander our names because you don't want to see GK succeed. Do you see anything GK could lose at this point? Really? You're not around, Bjorn's not around, I speak for all of the players that actually play GK when I say: we just want GK to be alive again, and in order to achieve that we have to start at one of the sources of the problem... the management. I'm not here to cause you trouble, I'm not here to destroy GK or Graal or whatever you've been feeding to people. I'm not a cheater. Yes, I have experimented with hacking before, there's no way to get around that. I am human, and I make mistakes. Let this be a confession to the community, although it's already widely known: I used to hack. Did I hack because I hate Graal? No, I did it because I was bored, end of story. I've never actually been against Graal itself. There were times I was mad at the management after Lance reset my account on GK for no good reason, when he could have easily taken the illegal item I traded for. Instead, due to the fact that he didn't like me very well, he decides to just put me back at square one and reset me. If you don't think I'm trustworthy, that's fine, and you know what? If you really don't want Stephen and I to save GK, fine, we will both step down and it will just sit here, then you can run the show like you've been doing just so well for the past couple of years.

Mental balance? Who says Stephen and I don't have mental balance? I hardly think that's even a valid point considering the fact that Ibonic is on heavy medications for his mental instability and he still seems to do a pretty damn good job. Stop recycling the same over-used excuses, Sam, no one buys in to that stuff except your friends. Look, I'm not here to make friends, but I pay for my GK subscription, and if you, or Bjorn, or whoever is supposed to be leading this server is not going to make it fun for me, or Stephen, or all of the other players, then I, along with Stephen, have no choice but to take it upon myself and get my money's worth. I'm not paying to sit in trade any longer unless I get the chance to make a difference, a difference at a time where no differences are being made except by Stephen and I.

Sam, I will publicly ask you a question and I expect you to answer it in front of the entire community:

A) Do you want Stephen and I to step down, stop developing and not become the manager, let GK wallow in it's own waste at the bottom of the Gold server list, and eventually die?
OR
B) Do you want to stop trying to be so proud, let go of the past, and watch GK flourish once again at the top of the Gold server list?

Pick A or B, one or the other, no other choices.

This is to benefit everyone, remember, including GraalOnline profits. Choose carefully of your next answer, because it literally decides the fate of GK. Now you can really show everyone if you care about GK and it's future or if you just care about being in control of GK by placing your puppet friends in staff positions that you can control.

All I know is, Stefan is very careful if people shall get powerful admin rights. And I think he is doing right.
At last, nobody knows what's the matter of the current "problems". I am sure if Stephane and Stefan wants to update GK they will do it. Same goes if the want set a new manager or additional managers for GK.

And about the past: too many things happened I am still not sure if such things can't happen again

You failed to choose an option, because right now those are our only options. I didn't give you those two options to choose just to be difficult. It is very good to be careful about the people you hire and give rights to, I agree completely, but there is a certain point when there is nothing to lose (like right now) that you should probably relax up a little bit (like how I hired a new manager to Ol' West recently to try to help speed up the process). Of course things can happen again, but I have worked too hard changing my entire persona to go back to that. I'm just going to ask you one favor: if you're going to be inactive and useless to GK, please, at least for the sake of GK, stay out of my way. I wish we could be friends, I wish you could get along with me after the several attempts I've made to patch up our relationship, but right now appealing to you is the last thing on my mind. I wish I could make everyone happy and still save GK, but you know? I can't. I have to concentrate on what the players want and I have to try to make what they want to see for GK, and I have to plan things to try to save GK with Stephen. I have patched up my many differences with quite a few people in order to save GK because friendships are trivial when we're looking at the stake of an entire server. Just recently Stephen and I were a bit irritated with each other, but we have to set those small things aside and join up together to try to save this place that has apparently been forgotten.

That's not good enough.

GK should be regularly updated before it needs to be. Right now, it's not even being updated when it needs to be.

So I'm guessing them doing it whenever they "wants to update GK" isn't cutting it.

Let's reflect on this situation:
1. We're complaining cause GK isn't doing well
2. A few people are making suggestions on what needs to be done
3. Your answer is "They'll do whatever they want when they want"
4. ?????
5. Profit

Stephen 05-12-2008 09:45 PM

It was kind for Tig to speak for me, and for the most part he's right. But I'm not going to step down because someone who is no longer active in the game disagrees.

On top of this I need not remind everyone here the amount of damage Sam alone has done to Graal Kingdoms in the past with his fantastic equalization ideas - we can thank him very kindly for the decline we saw before the period of absence from the administration - the administration which was too proud to take even the most fantastic suggestions from myself, Tig, or anyone else on GK.

So really, Sam - you may be in the position to make decisions - but to be plain I don't think you're qualified and I believe your history here supports my belief. It's far too easy to walk into a situation you know very little about and make sweeping statements about things at face value - which is precisely what Sam is doing in this case. He has not been involved in the development administration in more than a year, and even when he was "active" it was never official. Ironically my suggestions were supressed for, literally, years because they said, "He is only a graphics artist, what does he know?".

So I'll let the players - who have suffered for nearly a year now in the absence of a administration who wants to sit in their chair doing nothing but make sweeping statements of something which they know little about - decide if they want me or tig to administrate this server. When they have decided, it is then the job of Graal ownership to decide - because the GK administration has been gone so long their opinions no longer seem to matter.

Highest managers on GraalOnline? What does that mean? "Highest"? As in best? As in in charge of the most popular server? Or as in Stefan/unix?

Welcome to the forums ;)

I agree that the inactive staff on GK need to be dealt with; it would not be tolerated on most servers.

It just seems a shame that this is a gold server and - not just that it's inactive now - but it was let go inactive for so long by the people who run this game. It's sort of disappointing.

But what adds insult to injury is that they basically won't hire anyone to replace the inactive manager? Figure that one out :oo:

A. They don't listen and think Bjorn is active
B. They don't care
C. They don't even know people are complaining
D. Their English sucks and they think we're complimenting Bjorn.

Please keep that in mind.

As for the GraalOnline administrators not knowing what's going on... ridiculous. They know something needs to be done about GK. We flood these forums with posts about how GK needs to be fixed, updated, and so forth.

The real question now is: What direction is GraalOnline headed? Are they now giving up on GK, allowing Zone to be the main server, and focusing on releasing Graal 3d? That seems to be the only reasonable answer. However, I doubt there is a reasonable answer. We've been waiting for Graal 3D for years now. So that only leaves this answer: Zone is our new main server, and there's no reason to believe anything will replace that.

Problem is people like me don't even like Zone and would be disgusted to find out it's the new main Graal server. Maybe the majority feels different though. If Zone will lead their company to success, then I can't argue with them focusing on it. However, I personally would prefer to either see (a) GK "fixed" so that it has a high playercount once again, (b) Graal 3D released, keeping the old sword-and-shield style of gameplay as oppose to gun-and-vest, or (c) Atexia become the new main server, also preserving a traditional old, non-modernized feel.

They should really tell us what their plans are. If they don't sound too good, they should re-evaluate where they're going with all of this x.x

yes because the last active players are mainly Tig's friends. If it was some months ago or the last year for exemple, it will not be in your favor, because we all knows what will happen if Tig get power on GK.

Like this?

1. Tig gains power
2. ????
3. Profit

He can still be fired if mess happens, stefan is probaply very careful after what happened with jagen & folks.

Nature2 05-13-2008 03:53 PM

Tig got tons of rights on debug....he can finish his developement on debug so he dont need rights on the main server...if he would have rights on main server it would speed up the upload work and thats all...

and all development is on debug anyways to protect the main server

finish your work and get björn or stefan...

During the extremely short period I worked on Dev, I never had a problem with Björn. He was friendly, and helpful, and tried to teach me things - as did Tig. I quit due to not liking the systems, or the server in general, only applied in the first place since I wanted to help.

If Björn is inactive though, then yes - he needs to be replaced for the sake of maintaining the server. The server is the main focus, not the staff on it.

He's talking about something he doesn't understand. Stefan is very limiting with the rights he gives so that any unplanned additions need him to be on so that he can add access.

So if we're working on a script we have to stop what we're doing and sometimes wait up to 2-3 days just so we can continue because of something trivial. This is why I requested he give me administrative access over Debug.

This has happened so often now - it's ridiculous. There's very little for him to lose, as I am not interested in whatever lol obsolete things he thinks he's hiding. All of the work which was once secret on debug is now so old it's not even fit - from when Jagen & Lance were around. So really he's just being foolish as I've already said.

Graal Online needs someone who will make decisions. Stefan is too wuss and Unixmad is not involved directly in the more obscure things. So it's left to PWA and sadly PWA doesn't administrate Graal Kingdoms. So GK is in an unfortunate gray zone of wussiness.
