I'm really not going to do anything if people feel that they need their stuff that bad.. I will just help admin the current 2k1, and work on my own server.

All I know is that I'm going to make sure that I'm able to ban people that come on my server thinking it's like 2k1. Because I'm not going to put up with people like that.. I'm taking every step I can so that I don't have to ban, such as hopefully taking Pause out, because pausers need to disappear completely. It takes away excitement when you're fighting someone and then they pause because they don't want to lose precious money.

Oasis will be about adventuring, questing, rping, group battles, having fun, and most importantly GAMEPLAY. Because tapping d all day in order to buy items just so that you can say "wow look I have this rare <insert item here>" is not gameplay.

Plus, even people that never scammed or hacked probably used a macro or auto-d or gamepad that would press d automatically, and sat there mining or whatever without having to actually do it themselves. Anything you do on a game should be fun, even work. =/

Yes you are a player, but whats even worse is your a staff who thinks that just because of this reset everything will turn out better.

Take away some of the illegal money on the server? Sure. But eventually everyone will just make enough bread money, buy every hat there is, and we'll be back to square one again.

All it does is cause pain to the people who have worked hard. Maybe a year ago it might have been a posable option, but it's a little late now.

You might have misread, this is not just a gralat reset, but a total account wipe basically. I'll tell you what it will get rid of:

It will have the admins moderate the economy much more carefully
Encourage the return of role-playing
Make Graal 2001 fun again
Get rid of the saijin race

How will that take away all of that? Yeah, for about a month or so all will be peaceful, but eventually people WILL start up auctioning off worthless hats. This is only a simple temporary solution.

You obviously underestimate the graalian populace. We have a TON of powergamers that will pump hats back into the economy madly.

I have to agree with vermain. If this does happen, in a year we will be back to square 1 and we can't do this every year... Graal may be crap now, but that's how graal is and this reset will not change anything. I am probably going to transfer to koni's server anyway.

Hell no You could to people that have alot of money and make them have less, or make it so you can only carry so much money and you must buy something to carry mroe money.

Gralat counts should be cut in 10. :(

HERE'S A SOLUTION!
REMOVE THOSE SERVERS WHO HAVE ALMOST NO ONE ON THEM, MAKE AN EXACT COPY OF 2k1, LEAVE THOSE GRALAT, BOMY, AND ITEM FREAKS IN THEIR BELOVED 2k1.

About this matter, i'm with Capt'n Obvious and Konidias (i'm sorry if i missed anyone who support this idea). They both have made some very good points about this server reset. Ghost Pirate's idea is also good. It would make people think twice before they sell their stuff. And i think, by making a copy of Graal 2001, many graal "seniors" who upgraded their account to look for fun in Graal, will re-upgrade again because the new server will be more strict in controlling the economy, and it will also bring new players that will have a hope to be able to make it in Graal because the economy is not ridiculously out of control.

i remebered the first time i play on 2k1, everything was so peaceful. Hats were free, everybody worked together to finish quests, and gralats are not a big matter. Geez, i wish i could go back there.

I'm sorry if you cant understand what i am saying because English is not my first language, which leads to another problem about people harassing spelling mistakes, but that can be discussed later.

Well, that is my opinion on the problem. Any comments?

PS: A tax npc is a nice idea to make the economy in 2k1 more controllable

I say no to the reset.

But, I say yes to one of the idea's I've been pushing for a lot:

A FLUCTUATING ECONOMY

If the selling/bying price of items raised/lowered a bir randomly each graalian week, fortnight, or month even, then it would breathe life back into it. And it would please more people than an account reset.

(Oh, and whatever happened to the hats restocking more often, which was going to happen when they came out? ;) )

while reading this extremely long thread, i thought that a gralat reset would be ok , but then i remember i gotta pay 650 bucks of rent weekly! and when i rent out to people i dun got enough to pay, and i cant stay on long to work! plz ! take lieks 50% gralat from us! ish good 50%! or 75% at least! not all!

Just remove 45% from each person and from the chest. Or just slowly remove money like koni is starting to do. Make people pay for more stuff, don't let some things be traded. Close the damn market, it will give us auctioneers something to do :) Maybe stick the auction house were the market is, or closer to the admin house. I like to see more auctions but not many come, it is almost on the other side of the map.

I think a complete reset should be done, but before people just work hard to get back to how the server is now, lots of stuff in the economy thingie needs to be changed.
Taxes seem a fine idea. Taking 5% of each player weekly should be fine, Probably youcould make it so you pay volunteerily, but if you don't pay, ebil guards running around Bomboria or Bogenera attack you... (people without money wouldn't be attacked).
You could try to limit the mining stuff... like, each mining place can only be bombed 10 times a day, or something like that...
Whatever, just reset that server.

lol good ideas.. i like the NPC's and stuff attacking you if you have money. Or make NPC's come at a certain time of the day and charge a toll to go certain places.

This is why I made a poll on this rather than making a flat out dision.

It has its ups and downs, so I think it just might turn out in a comprimise where we have tax/walets(amount you can carry)/and some better things to buy.

Money making should be restricted to some level, but This idea has been curculating around 2k1 for a while. For the people who have worked very very hard, its like a new begining, your no longer at the top, you start from scrach, and it becomes more fun... thats just my opinyon.

Anyway, Continue voting, I find this poll and thread to be very informative, like I have said in the past, you can't form your opinyons from one or two people in a party of 400.

Anyone who cares about the server and its economy will give atleast 40% of their cash up.

I give away 250 every week. Paying for the rent of my house, which I make no money off of. Anyone who pays me rent is helping get rid of money. I have 2 accounts in my house, one for my personal cash and one for money to the house. I am going to start using them and I will go donate some money to the NPC at market.

Maybe for some people, but for the others that have worked for months to accumulate their savings would be VERY angry, and more then likely, quit.

I'd personally not mind a reset if some sort of maximum hat count or gralat count or whatever was put in, but I'm more concerned for what everyone else would be feeling.

WEll , if you aresuper rich, thier really is nothing to buy.... I mean all you do is collect hats or dolls. that is it? This isnt a card collecting game =\... If you wanna collect stuff, buy pokeymon cards or something. I would suggests a reset becasue with that we can make the economy less centered around collecting worthless things.

i will say yes to the reset. people who wants to quit, you are more than welcome, it will make the server less laggy, though after you quit you might find out that you will be sitting in front of your computer wondering what would you do to replace your "graal" time. (this happens to me, but then i got a job). A server reset will also encourage more people to upgrade their accounts, maybe more than those who quit. It might also sad to lose well known graalians if they quit when the server got reseted.

If people are that greedy because they dont have the most gralats on the server anymore, I'd have to encourage them to quit becasue collecting gralat isnt the point of 2001 anyway!

It sure seems that way now but after a reset, and more quests added, it would be a better place.

If that isn't the "point" of G2K1, then why did the staff make only a few simple quests instead of a bunch of large time consuming ones? Sure, there's the bomy moon, but that's about the biggest quest you can get. Instead, we have 8 jobs that make you money and at least 100 hats out for sale. Now, try multiplying that number so that we get the amounts they come out in. That's right, 600 + hats running around in the marketplace.

A server reset would not make money suddenly un-important. Graal2001 would have to be remade to do something like that, and that kind of thing could take up to a year.

A server reset with everthing lost is fine, but still, Bird would have to up the number of tables and ovens in the bread baking place.

Personally I don't think the server shuold be reset for a fer reason.

1) People who are rich on the server have worked long and hard for the money. Yes they may buy hats and sell them for profit but that is still risky. Hat prices change all the time, it's like a stock market. And no I'm not saying that because I have lots of money I only have 5g and I think it would be unfair to the players who do have lots of money.

2) Lots of people would get mad about all the money/items etc they have lost and quit and I think it would dramatically reduce the amount of people on the server.

3) I would have to work for hours again on getting all of my items back. I'm sure I'm not the onjly person that doesn't want to go through hours of work to get their items back. And I have a few hats that I would really like to keep. Not expensive ones just a few cheap ones that I think suit my character and look good on him.

I'm sure there are a lot more reasons why we shouldn't have a server reset but those are the ones that I just got off the top of my head.
So personally I don't think there should be a server reset.
