I don't really understand why you would pay anyone a single dollar to have fun for you, it just doesn't make sense to me.
I'm sure someone else has mentioned this already, I haven't read this thread over yet.
Anyway, if you really wanted to hunt someone down, I'd say do it yourself. Not only will you get the actual feeling that you did it on your own, but you don't have to hurt your wallet either.
I remember back when I first started, raiding and pking were pretty fun experiences that drew me into Era instead of another playerworld. Promoting businesses like Bounty Hunter, in my opinion, contrasts to what I believe Era's "goal" is. Players should be doing things for themselves instead of relying on businesses to do things they should be doing.
Even besides all of that, I think we're overpriced.
I'd support any price drop of our services, even if it was 25 a kill. I'd have much more fun.

Part of the reason you are a Bounty Hunter, if you were to be in the mindstate that our services were a "necessity", you'd be far too profitable for us to hire.

In any news, Bounty Hunter is not a necessity, no one ever stated it was. Bounty Hunter is an Asset and an overall "Perk" to gameplay. Promoting businesses of the sort does nothing but promote the overall goal of Era. That if you can actually obtain a mastery in PKing, that you may be able to be PAID to do so. Don't know about you, to me, that looks to go along the lines of a promotion.

Right now, we are indeed overpriced. Amount of money in the economy sunk, I'll have to see how the economy is looking before deciding the right prices.

YOU decide the prices?

So here is the problem. Little Squirt listening to big Wil Soul.

DuBsTeRmAn 05-19-2009 04:31 PM

I think that you should be able to set any price on someones head ($10+) some people aren't worth it.
Example: You are running around Era and you don't have a gun, a noob keeps killing you with his uzi's and you want to kill him once, but you don't have a gun..
Would you actually pay around $500 for this? Buying a gun and ammo is even cheaper..

I agree with this; I think that the price should be determined pending the skill level of the player being hunted.

Thanatoses 05-24-2009 12:30 AM

I agree with that as well, but when you find a way to systematically record a player's skill-level, you let me know. As of now, my way of solving that is "Custom Contracts". A Hunte may set a price to a bounty that he deems fit, but you'd have to speak with a specific hunter rather than using a system.

Frankie 05-24-2009 03:16 AM

custom contracts are just an excuse for you to do what you want with a BHer tag. you raid LC and tell us that it's a custom contract when I highly doubt there was anyone behind the "contract" and you just raided because you wanted to.

I really don't think so.
That'd be PPA and they always failed at raids anyway.

my idea would be like a gui that comes up (normal)
When you click on the person you want to bounty it shows the kills and deaths of the person, then somehow there could be a minimum price for that person.. it would be more $ for a better ratio and lower for a crapy one

sucks, kill and deaths can be easily farmed, meaning they don't mean anything, but something like... Events Won, I'd like to see

BlueMelon 05-24-2009 05:31 PM

How does events won, have to do anything with Bher?
pk events maybe..

Pelikano 05-24-2009 05:42 PM

Maybe hours?

My kills-to-death ratio is superior to that of Wil's, but I am far from being a better player than he is.

Frankie9011 05-25-2009 03:08 AM

how about reputation.

Thanatoses 05-25-2009 08:01 AM

There is no way to record a player's skill level systematically. K/D ratio is closest but still vastly inacurrate.

Frankie we most-certainly were paid 2500$ to raid LC for an hour by Seif Al Din Nasar. So slow your stroll, bub.

Indeed. A player can log on and get five kills, then log off. It's hard to write a formula that accounts for this, but I think Sales actually made a pretty good one.

salesman 05-25-2009 09:23 PM

Yea I have a little formula I use for sorting teams when the EventBot is hosting (using only kills and deaths)...you might notice that teams are usually fairly even. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing.

only do it when Wil's on because he takes BHer seriously.

LOL SO GOING TO TRY THIS! ^^ ;) :p :asleep:

Thanatoses 05-25-2009 11:38 PM

Sounds possible, not perfect but indeed better than nothing. Amount of kills does indeed show how much time and effort is actually put into player-killing. Which could to some degree tell how good a player is. Although things like resetting k/d and etc are flaws, but still is better than nothing, for team selecting.

If we're going to apply something like that to bounty costs, I propose we combine that with the K/D ratio concept.

As in, until a player hits 750-1000 kills his bounty costs the lowest amount for example sake, we'll say 50$.

When he/she hits 750-1000 kills, the ratio is then taken into account.

1.0 or less = 50$
1.1-1.9 = 75$
2.0-2.9 = 100$
3.0-3.9 = 125$
4.0 or above = 150$

(Prices may vary according to amount of money in economy).
