I highly doubt that people that have never talked to Unixmad are on his 'bad side'. Meaning, the only way you would need to 'get on his good side' is if you (a) annoy him or (b) constantly insult him, his company, his game, and his moderators over the forums that he owns, and then expect him to do everything that you want him to do... which just might actually (a) annoy him.

Do you see my point? Act like this is a workplace, and Unixmad is your boss. You might understand what I'm trying to say, then.

You are using a service and you agreed to follow the rules. If you don't like the rules or the way we moderate, it's your choice to leave the forums.

Let us do that then. Everybody who disagrees with the way the forums are currently being moderated let's all just leave. Once the forums have 4 kiss-ass posters left, things will change.

No it won't because this actually did happen. At one point activity here was very low but nothing changed.

Eventually Houdiniman convinced unixmad to open up the forums for classic posters again (thanks Houdiniman).

Way to have nothing to do at all with what I said. I didn't say I didn't like to follow the rules, and there's no rule against believing the moderators suck at moderating. I said we're not employees of CJ, we're customers who deserve some acknowledgment or volunteers who deserve recognition and respect.

Anyways, since you obviously completely misunderstand was the analogy meant: it meant that, in the same respect that if you insult your boss, he's not going to be nice and give you those hours you've been wanting, if you insult the GraalOnline staff, they're not going to be any more willing to give you all those updates and rule changes you want.

This whole "we're customers; we deserve what we ask for!" shtick is pathetic when coupled with the treatment that Unixmad, Stefan, Darlene, et al. get. What's even more pathetic is that you guys actually try and defend actions which can only be described as childish and insulting.

You see, in the real world, with big business and that whole stock market thing, you can be mean and nasty, and still get what you want. This is because, when you don't get what you want, you sell your stock and the company goes broke. Here, most of us (at least, the ones that are complaining) made a one-time payment, and can't pull that trick. So, common sense says that if we want something, we ought to act cordial towards the hand that might give it to us. Unfortunately for those of you that think this game is horribly screwed up, acting cordial might not even be enough.

It's a little thing called manners, that your parents were supposed to teach you. Just because we're all extensions of ASCII characters, does not mean that we don't have to treat each other as if we're face-to-face.
