Very noble from the both of you. Lets hope people don't try to fix things what arn't broken in the future... Goodluck!1

Crono 10-06-2008 10:30 PM

Skyld would be the most appropriate global temp manager, obviously in my opinion.

CharlieM 10-06-2008 10:48 PM

well this sucks :( Houdini shouldnt have interfered unless there was a big problem

Yocas 10-07-2008 02:52 AM

Apparently Era trying to progress is a big problem. D:

Nataxo 10-07-2008 03:10 AM

why is it only Era has problems with the PWA? I've never heard/read anything similar to this at other playerworlds...

Exactly.

Shotoo2 10-07-2008 03:18 AM

historically, Era has almost always had problems involving the PWA, lol

Yocas 10-07-2008 03:35 AM

Era is too violent for Graal to handle. Ditch it.

agreed, you should make Era at least 15+ only...

spikekid 10-07-2008 04:11 AM

I'll take GP Chief even if it's temporary. I never did anything abusive and still stay true to those values.

Yeah. 15's a huge difference from 13.

thesmoothcriminal 10-07-2008 05:15 AM

Most of you dont realize how important era is to graal. They wont let it fall apart without a fight.

Actually, it is...When I read my posts from 13, from other forums that is, and compare them to mine here, I find a big difference.

That may be so, but if you're talking about raising the age so you can boost violent content (and we were), 15 doesn't mean a thing.

What reason does he have to respond to this thread?

xAzerothx 10-07-2008 02:58 PM

Maybe to explain his actions and plans for Era.

Yocas 10-07-2008 04:19 PM

I'm pretty sure if Era were to become independent and become it's own game it would have more players than Graal all together. Like I said, if games like LOLRUNESCAPE and Club Penguin have more players than Graal, then anything has a chance. Era is waaaay too limited on Graal.

xAzerothx 10-07-2008 04:26 PM

That doesn't make sense "if games like ......." You mean successful games?

I agree though if Era went independent I think it would have a larger playerbase.

Being on a unsuccessful game, like Graal, doesn't really help the chances for games with good concepts, like Era, to become successful.

xAzerothx 10-07-2008 04:31 PM

What I meant was you were laughing at Runescape yet they have thousands of players.

Yocas 10-07-2008 04:37 PM

I was using those games as an example because IMO those games are whack. Yet they have 100x more players than Graal will ever have, which makes Graal look like a failed game; which it is.

Era needs saving yet again.

Ziro_of_the_Turks 10-07-2008 06:18 PM

They shoulda put Era on iPhone instead of Zone.. I've never even played Era much. I would say I've played Zone much more. But I think I would prefer Era on iPhone. Especially due to the RPG-element, as oppose to just join-and-kill. I could be sitting around at wherever I need to be, away from home, on my iPhone (which I plan to buy just for Graal), and use some free time to accumulate Era monies doing whatever it is you do on Era to accumulate money. To me, that's a much more casual level of gaming, and I think that's why servers like G2k1, GK, and Era have succeeded in the past. Where as in the past servers like UN and N-Pulse (at least originally or a long time ago) have seemed to be more about PKing and sparring. And if there is casual gameplay, it's just pointless (no real goal).

Anyways, go Era! I hope to play it some day. I heard it has lots of resets, and each time I hear about it, I want to jump in and play.

Someone who has played since 2001. Who are you? Actually, I don't give a **** so don't even bother. Sorry to say but Graal is indeed a FAILED game. Any game that can't budge over 500 players is nothing more than a flash arcade game. This is hardly even considered an MMO. What kind of game charges money for in-game trading cards and development tools even when their population is smaller than a college lecture room. Call me what you want but no matter what you try to say to defend your precious Graal, it's always going to be a screw up in my eyes.

And don't even give me the "LOL Y DO U PLAY" **** cause it's repetitive as Graal's lack of creativity. I'm barely even on anymore due to the fact of the playercount gradually dropping. I come on every now and then to see if Era has accomplished anything or to see if any of my ideas came to past. But with the constant interference of globals, it just going to be the same cycle every new management.

Stage 1:
New manager is hired.

Stage 2:
Player's criticism.

Stage 3:
Globals are alerted.

Stage 4:
Replacement.

Same **** different manager.

I agree in some ways.. I remember when Stefan has logged into Doomsday asking for Tifa and wow the only time she wasn't on was that day so he then asked for the next admin as in co-owner which at the time there wasn't any so i had to took it upon myself and speak with him.. He simple said the server needs to be paid for or it would be simply shut down....The end and he logged.

Since then graal player count has fall badly even after we did pay for Doomsday we lost alot of people cause the server had to pay a fee which we though that our regular players would get a break but not it wasn't enough players had to pay a fee as well... It's not like anyone is allowed to use GK tileset/items graphics we still had to use the Zelda theme... Now why would anyone pay for something that was ripped?

As years goes along we seen changes on servers..ect Graphics where changed a bit since the zelda theme was annoying and yet the players count has drop.

Now it's a battle between UN/ Zodica/Era for playercount one day u would see Era on top the next day is UN and after Zodiac.. Other players worlds that trys these same theme so they also to can get in the game Fail...

PWA are suppose to help out issues with other playerworlds only one who been doing that so far alot before he was PWA was Ts-Admin . Bell helps also but doesn't mean the chick don't have a real life.. Where is Houndini log on era and u would find...

Pm him and never get a respond unless OMG someone says they gonna hax era..

The system which is implemented for graal pay system also shows we don't get the help we need... Some servers goes into development and when in time and in need of help it fails reason so cause one person cannot pay for everyone funds...As in workers and players who wants in on the server.. The best thing i even seen on graal system is...

Trying logging on rc with a classic/trial on one of these dev servers it says..

You need a gold subscription to log into rc.

More like You need to spend money to work on this server and even if it doesn't work of to well TRY again... so now we pay money to do work which has been as issue in the past... Yes most of the old players like myself do try to keep our faith in graal.. But the new generation is not going to be tempted that easly.....

I mean just google.com and type in Free mmorpg.. There's games in 3d with good story good backgrounds that players would rather play... Graal is still a 2d mmo... which hasn't even reach the peek of a new development... Yes Stefan and unix need money to run Graal but isn't there another way around this? I mean i don't think a lobster cost that much to eat everyday :-p

I would not be surprised if there were more players working on their soon-to-be failed server than playing the classic servers. With all of these kids getting their parents to pay for their server every time it doesn't work out you'd think Graal would have enough money to where they wouldn't have to charge for every feature on it.

At this rate we'll be paying real money to change our nicks in game. :whatever:

How does that matter? Sure, 3D has more flair, but 2D has potential to spawn great stuff. You shouldn't treat Graal as though it's inferior simply because it's 2D.

Boo hoo ....you know i love 2d games :-p ... But look at the world around you people are creating new stuff which would draw and attract players.... I seen some 2d games that has a spice of 3d in it as in background..ect Graal didn't reach this far i even seen your post on trying some 3d stuff and it won't just happen on graal..

Actually we have reach that peak..

Get cool new heads when you subscribe.. .. These same heads are not heads that stefan or unximad made these are heads that people pay there money in order to work on a server and made thoese cool so called NEW HEADS...lolz it's and epic failure...

Here's what people fail to realize..

Graphics Devs.

Yes you have to buy a graal account in order to work.

You work your *** off making stuff..

You decide to quit since of IRL issues or Personal reason.

Even when you decide to go if a manager or admin has saved your stuff.

GraalOnline
Copyright (C) 1998-2008 Linux cyberjoueurs
is now the legal owner of your stuff since it was uploaded into Graal Database?
So in other words is you paid money to work and then your stuff is no longer yours after it touches graal.

Nice system to attract more people :)

I made a few friends on a community called pixeljoint and when i mention graal i was insulted. lol... There's tons of good GFX devs on the joint who simply love working for games but they not going to get brain washed by graal..

Still stands though that it's Graal, not the fact it's 2D :P

From what I've spectated over the years...

No, globals are not this simple minded. Players will cry and complain (honestly most are idiots and globals are well aware of this) but globals won't outright take direct action. They will sit back and watch, seeing if the manager is actually doing something wrong or if the problem stems from elsewhere.

Era's biggest issue with staff is that the playerbase is inexperienced. These people mostly play Era and don't really hop around to other servers. From what I've seen most of them have little to no staff experience and finding a quality developer from the pool of gangstas and thugs is a real feat.

The PWA may never be there when you want them to be, but they're far from stupid.

I disagree. Acting passively could be passed off as good intentions, but it's just laziness. Should players have a reason to complain? Not really no. "BUT THIS IS GRAAL!" I hear you cry, but that's no excuse at all; I don't play other games and feel the need to spam their support center with complaints. This is an issue that actually does needs addressing by the PWA. Sitting back and watching managers -apparently- dig themselves into holes is not helping anyone, but neither is smothering them.

I disagree with this too. Era players' server visiting habits are not really linked to staff experience at all. I played Classic BY ITSELF for years, does that mean I have no real chance of developing something of quality? I've been on Era quite a few times, and not everyone is a "pool of gangsters" and your "finding a quality developer" statement isn't native to Era and you are well aware of that.
