Look.

-Ching, and "excalibur" (lol)

Do I need dare post in regards to both of your posts towards me? It makes me immature and foolish to even respond when you can't talk to me on somewhat of an adult level that I would even care about.

From what I have seen of you both, all you do is complain and act like you are given a hard time. You _are not_ given an unfair play around here, so please stop acting like you do. If you were both removed, I would be a happy customer. If you wish to _RESPOND_ to what I have said, forum PM me if you are not banned... haha.

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:02 PM

Will we be given a fair chance to question any infractions we receive?

For instance, I want to start a website to help with the GS2 tutorials I've been making but i'd have to resort to a domain which is not graal related. It would suck to get an infraction and then not be able to pursue the matter any further because the mods have 'made up their mind'. It would suck somewhat more if we recieved an infraction for questioning a mod's decision.

This is also why I disagree with the whole 'Don't talk about bans / infractions'. Public opinion should indeed be taken into consideration since we are the forums.

unixmad 10-09-2006 05:05 PM

Then make a PM to a forum admin or super moderator and ask if you can.

Best way to be allowed.

The domain makes no difference, it is the content that has to be graal related.
Also, you can ask for permission for url's that you aren't sure of.

Darlene's probably the best for this, when shes on she responds pretty much instantly :)

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:08 PM

As for the other idea? I think public consideration should be taken into not so much infractures but bans. Even if you do not agree with the public opinion why must it be silenced on such matters?

Devil 10-09-2006 05:10 PM

Message in regards to "excalibur" lol..

To be quite honest, I've been around _alot_ longer than you have.

Even though I haven't posted on the forums for near on 3 years, if not longer, I still have viewed the forums everyday, if not every week to see what has been going on, so please don't kid yourself into thinking that I have just come out of "the blue" and tried to get in on what is happening now.

Tom 10-09-2006 05:11 PM

Can it not be called " Forum Strike List" or "Forum License" and cut out the driving part. As the driving part makes no sense xD

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:12 PM

Just an analogy.

excaliber7388 10-09-2006 05:13 PM

It's a lot more fustrating when you're trying to post.

And I suppose you can't ask questions that are important to implementation new features either.

It was just for fun.
Much like when you get tickets or whatever, you get points on your drivers license that last for a certain amount of time, and when you get so many points, your license is suspended, or taken away. I think it fits.

Devil 10-09-2006 05:14 PM

Dude, your message was deleted in regards to trying to call me out, or it was not proper for this topic in regards to myself.

Well IRL the cops aren't watching 24/7...so we CAN get away with things. Here it's impossible, big brother and sister are watching. :(

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:17 PM

They act within reason I just wish to know the extent in which the users of the forums have a say in the decisions made against us.

IRL, I wouldn't want to be always watching over my shoulder because I am worried about getting caught for breaking the law.

Don't break the law=no worries
Don't break the rules=no worries

Aww man, this isn't in real life. This is a moderated game. Don't mix the 2 up and think because you get away with things in REAL life, that it works the same in a game :(

They can always question it, if they don't understand it, or agree with it. If we think it was unfair, it can be reversed. If we deem it was fair, it will remain.
This can be done by forum PM. If the person is banned, they can use email or the support center (prefered).

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:23 PM

But forum users can recieve infractures for supporting someone who they deem may have been wrongly banned. Moderators in the end have the final word on the matter but silencing the public should not be necessary.

Devil 10-09-2006 05:24 PM

How hard is it to follow some EASY rules... :(

No threads are to be made regarding bans. Questions can be done through forum PM, but we will not discuss someones ban with someone else. We will only discuss it with the person who was banned.

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:28 PM

Indeed.... I just don't agree with severely limiting the say the players have in such matters.

Why should the players have a say in someone elses ban? IMO, it is none of their business.

Twinny 10-09-2006 05:31 PM

Well that's where we differ. We are all apart of the forums and we should at least have some say on rules and how they are enforced.

Devil 10-09-2006 05:33 PM

Twinny that rule has been in place for ages, and the only people who seem to break it are new members to the forums, who _DONT_ read the rules.

Tom 10-09-2006 05:39 PM

I've never read the rules but at the same time ive never gotten warned or banned or anything like that.

Sometimes its just general manners.

If you get banned for 1 week by not following the rules, you need to be banned in my opinion.

I seriously dont agree with the 3 points things. I bet you bans will be flying around.

How can u not insult someone without innappropriate language lol. I think this list should be revised a tad.

Hm, spamming is 1 point, i thought you would get banned for that.

Crono 10-09-2006 07:23 PM

Remember guys, if you call someone a suck up it's a personal attack! No lie!

WanDaMan 10-09-2006 07:39 PM

I haven't read any posts other than the one created by the thread starter. Anyway, Enforce the rules - this feature is pathetic.

MysticX2X 10-09-2006 07:41 PM

They still do enforce the rules, who do you think decides that we lost a point?

WanDaMan 10-09-2006 07:45 PM

If they enforced the rules upon us they obviously wouldn't of implemented this new system - I hope.

The issue here is that following the rules offers you little protection, since you are often moderated for things that aren't rule violations.

Isolated incidents. What you're doing is being a vocal miniority for the actual trouble makers.

Besides, with the current rants and people like you breathing down the administrative team's neck I can't imagine it will happen that often.

Except that they aren't, especially when it comes to legitimate posts being deleted as "spam".

It happens all the time

Damix2 10-09-2006 08:25 PM

Really do we spend more time figuring out ways to punish us then developing the game?

Cool, I just got mine through the post1!

Infernix 10-09-2006 08:57 PM

Whatever, Ill just continue goin with the flow and doing whatever.

Bl0nkt 10-09-2006 09:13 PM

Listen up. I break rules on games because it doesn't have a serious impact on what I do in real life. If I wanted a place to be paranoid about getting in trouble I'd go outside. When I feel like getting something off my back I do it here. Don't take that away too you selfish ****ers. End of story.

CidNight1142 10-09-2006 09:21 PM

This is getting more than a little ridiculous. As if the forums didn't have stringent enough policies already? I've never heard of a non-free forum having so many damned bannings. I swear to god, I'm starting to think you guys want to be broke.

Mykel 10-09-2006 09:32 PM

What an absolutely horrible idea. The people complain about the moderation being too strict, so you make the rules even more strict? I guess the customer isn't always right, eh Unix?

The problem with these rules is that they are up to interpretation of mods who a majority of users don't think properly understand them. This mis-interpretation and misunderstanding that is no doubt going to happen will make for even bigger problems.

Are you insane? 3 spam posts and you're banned for a week?

Unix, I understand that you have a game to run and a profit to make, but you do realize that alienating a large amount of your forum userbase is only going to do the opposite, right?
