Managers who are scripters tend to be the bestestest :D

zell12 11-23-2004 09:51 PM

I don't think Moongod knew gscript, made graphics, or did levels. I may be wrong. He was a awsome Manager. :/

Anyway, I see your point Kai, but still, it is only importiant to have management skills, and an extra is development skills. Does it really matter anyway though, as long as two kingdoms are done, the jobs are fixed, and some update are made each week or so?

By what criteria?

Yes. Firstly, Zurkiba cannot guarantee that those improvements would be made. Secondly, there are still design considerations. Who will be designing the updates and how do we know that they'll do it well?

You're right. Neither could anyone else. It is unknown.

Zurkiba would tell his development team that he needs a kingdom made, and he would tell them what he wants in it. We don't know he will do well, but again, you don't know anyone else will do better.

A scripter certainly could; he could do the work himself.

Then he is also taking the role of designer, and that means we need to assess his design skills. Why should we put confidence in them? Why should we decide that his changes would be better than no changes?

zell12 11-23-2004 10:34 PM

I made that decision from my own knowledge.

And how cant a scripter GARENTEE that a kingdom would be made, and by himself?

He can certainly guarantee that the scripting would be handled; he can simply do it all himself. Obtaining levels and graphics is comparatively trivial.

I'm humble. Conclude that.

Humble and dishonest, eh? I'm not sure if that's the better of the options.

Dishonest? From where do you derive that?

Is it not obvious? I do not consider you to be one of the most talented people in Graal.

Emily_Cruddas 11-23-2004 11:26 PM

I'll just sit and wait for whatever 2001 will bring, that's all i can do.

Also who originally made 2001?

Alright, fine.

I do not consider you one of the most talented judges of talent on Graal, so I'm not worried.

Alright, children, since we all can't play nicely let's just look from an objective standpoint.

I have access to Dev. I have had it for quite some time. I have been on the Staff since Jeff's resignation, aiding in the design of the Kingdoms (but I owe all greatness in the 1.4 kingdoms completed currently to Shadowless). I am Tseng's friend. I have known him for quite a while. But, nothing is being done on 2k1. I check Dev every now and then, run over the world see if anything's uploaded, check all the folders I have access to, see nothing, hope someone will come on....but no. Tseng, you're a great friend, but I just don't see anything happening. Even if Zurkiba does nothing, is having nothing done with one manager any worse than having nothing done with another?

Also, for as long as I've known Zurkiba, we've had a friendly little rivalry (that damn Montague!) and I've come to understand his role in anything he does: he is the Catalyst. He spurs change, and even if he can't always dedicate himself totally to maintaing the spark that ignites, he always ignites it, and is able to pass it on to someone who CAN care for the flame.

I want 2k1's fire back.

You realise it's not objective if you just state your opinion?

Just what is your talent anyways?

Yes, and you can teach me all this some other time when it relates to the topic.

If you don't like English then don't use English. I certainly won't complain.

I wasn't sure as to what exactly you were speaking of. No duh I'd contact you.

Ah, sorry, allow me to clarify. The objectivity applies only to the first paragraph, the one where I saw nothing happening. Everything else is totally bias.

Fair enough. But it should be said that inactivity from Zurkiba would not necessarily be the worst-case scenario.

Lance 11-24-2004 03:09 AM

I've watched this thread for a while now, my response will be in a new thread for a number of reasons. Continue discussion in there.
