I love not being in a Kingdom, but it sucks to miss out on the l33t stuff you guys get/will get. Oh well.
None of the Kingdoms suit my character, anyway. ;) I can make geat ganis, and I can script enough to save my life. But when it comes to very difficult things, I want to be reborn as a lemming and jump off a cliff. And I am so bad with GFX that it's scary. |
Pirates could be...something evil

Wind? How about no? And since when does Dustari get dibs on Fire? Samurai and Japan have special connections with fire and such. Samurai could be... - Earth - Fire - Ice - Lightning (another good choice) |

Who IS Miru, anyway?! |

It seems sort of weird that each Kingdom would be based on one element.
Miru's an NPC that follows Dustari people around and attacks for them, etc. |

So you see, he is for defense, not offense. But I think you'll find that we use him less and less lately. |
Quote:
No. Shadow, Ghost & Undead, and all the elements related are evil. The samurai kingdom does not represent evil. |
Quote:
And when I say Wind, lightning is included in that. Usually when your talking about roleplaying and stuff, wind/lightning are sometimes considered the same element Look at Chrono Trigger for example. And I thought of Wind because it represents a lot that you see in Samurai. Swift, you can't see it but it is there, etc. Also wind is usually associated with more contemplative things. Wind can be calm, it also tends to sneak up on you (as if it calculated what it was going to do) If we do something like this we'll make sure all Kingdoms agree but we already have dibs on fire so blah :D Each Kingdom might be able to use each type of magic, but maybe that one element is where most of their strength would lie, for instance. |
NO SPECIAL ATTACKS FOR KINGDOMS
|
Dustari's get first dibs on everything. Let TrueHeat pick first. :P
Time for me to sleep. 'Night (3;00AM here. :( ). -Mal |
I think Samurai and Zormite should be "the element kingdoms", while dustari and pirates are more tech-based.
|
Dustari should have......TREBUCHETS!
|
I really like the elemental idea, it will give each kingdom a really great springboard for their ideas. And, like I mentioned, it will help make each one more unique. I proposed this idea about a month ago to Asuka and he liked it, and he also liked the idea of Dustari being fire so... take that for what it is worth.
If we don't make it to where each kingdom has its own element, then lets just not do it that way at all. It wouldn't be balanced if only half of the kingdoms were element based. If Dustari is made out to be the more technologically-advanced Kingdom, then maybe we can do something similar to magitech. Not really like it, with the suits and all, but we can do some type of magic/tech combination stuff. I like the word magitech but obviously whenever you say it people think of Final Fantasy VI so... we'll get a new term. But anyway... |
No matter what you guys pick, I seem to be getting the impression that you want to give EVERYONE in Dustari the same NPCs. Which, makes no sense, especially if you want to do stuff based on Elements. Why would a Knight receive a fire spell that a Wizard has? Spells should be for the magical; enhancements to weapons or sword abilities should be for the non-magical ones.
It'd be really cool if you guys could up with a sort of FFIX sort of thing, where a magic spell can be casted and absorbed into a non-magical person's weapon. I've no idea how hard it is, though; I'm a dreamer, not a scripter. |

I agree
Your right they dont belong in Kharlia. Its a shame we never really had the event Geshtar disapearred so did I so no one was there to script them. I still have all the gundam art ready to be scripted =/

I've got a lot of shameful experience in this "line of work". My assumptions are usually right.
And Gundams on Kharlia/Valikorlia make me want to eat rotten rat (sowwy Vermain!@) carcasses. |
Ohhh I see, so, your usually right? Well...
"I seem to be getting the impression that you want to give EVERYONE in Dustari the same NPCs" = not what we are gonna do how's that for being right? Never said everyone was getting the same NPCs Never said everyone would receive the same spells And please just spare us your opinions, I don't take too kindly to being told what we should use what for what. Your help is not needed as you are not part of Dustari or the RPC (regardless of the quality of your ideas) We have some great idealists as well as some of Graal's greatest gfx artists working for Dustari, we'll do just fine. :D |
""I seem to be getting the impression that you want to give EVERYONE in Dustari the same NPCs" = not what we are gonna do
how's that for being right?" Please figure out the difference between usually, and always. "Never said everyone was getting the same NPCs Never said everyone would receive the same spells " I didn't, either. I assumed, simply because right now the Dustari all have the same NPCs. "And please just spare us your opinions, I don't take too kindly to being told what we should use what for what. Your help is not needed as you are not part of Dustari or the RPC (regardless of the quality of your ideas) " I'm not forcing you to do anything, I'm suggesting you things. You don't like them, that's obvious, and you're selfishly rejecting them because you obviously now don't like me. Funny how no on else is saying the same things as you are, yet you'd like to spare "us" as in everyone my opinions. "We have some great idealists as well as some of Graal's greatest gfx artists working for Dustari, we'll do just fine. " How long have you had this Godlike team? Not long, I guess. Otherwise I wouldn't have needed to complain. The great idealists would have fixed my problems, and the great gfx artists would have stunned me with even more impressive looking CTF trophies, and plaques saying 'Long live King WoofWoof'. I'll stop posting, now. If you're a moderator and you've read this, feel free to close the thread. I'll just keep my mouth shut, since it's not doing much help, anyway. :) -Malak |
Whoop whoop! My argument detector is going wild!
|
HAHAHA....your detector is working well
|
Malak, you should think before
you write something. I offered support for Valikorlia, but no one wanted that so what can I do? Making levels and stuff for Valikorlia? There were no one playing, not even people with staff accounts. The Kingdoms wasn't my idea, people have sent in hats, levels, ideas etc. so I have put it in. I will take out the fishes thing so that it will be in a new quest, where you can move a fish or so. But keep in mind that it wasn't my idea to put it there. And when no one wants to make a castle for the samurais then there will be no one. I am more working on things like baddies (dragons) because I cannot spend all my time on making levels for groups of people who then one week later complain about me because I have made them those levels. Roleplaying is not about having special castles or rooms. Even pkilling and complaining about pking is kind of role playing. In the beginning we had the 'Baddies' - they looked like normal players and they had just a small level as base with northing special, but it was something special to be a Baddy. If you have ideas (not pointless complains) about Graal2001 then answer this. |
there's a contest going on now for the samurai castle
when it's done i'll give it to you and you can work your NPC magic or whatever |
Quote:
And while PKing may be a "sort" of roleplaying, it's fine as long as they perhaps acknowledge they are a baddy and not kill just for the heck of it. Roadside bandits would be great. |
I don't see how my complain is a stupid one. If you'll look at all of the posts aftewards, you'll see that nearly everyone (except Zulithe and that Dark lotus guy?) agreed with me. On ICQ, people who can't post told me I wrote down exactly what they've been meaning to say for a long time. So, how could my thread possibly just some not thought over thing that I threw together thinking I was cool? I'm not an idiot.
Yeah, I know what your job is. But I think if you're going to do something for the players, you should continue doing it the way they wanted to see it done, unless you think their way isobviously the wrong way. On the contrary, it is about special castles and rooms, and many other things. It's also about taking on the role of a nonexistant or even existing 'character' role in a time setting, not about feeling special because you're in a guild full of PKers. Once again, I feel my complaint was very useful, especially since it's voiced the opinion of many who were either too scared to say it, or didn't know how to say it. Thanks. -Malak |
Just a few more things...
"Please figure out the difference between usually, and always." I was stressing the fact that you were not right in that instance, dispite that you seemed pretty sure of yourself. "I didn't, either. I assumed, simply because right now the Dustari all have the same NPCs." Right now all we have are a handful of helmets, until we have enough helmets for each class we aren't going to restrict them. Soon our spellcaster-helmets will be online, that is the next step for us. We don't want anyone to feel left out when it comes to the NPCs. "I'm not forcing you to do anything, I'm suggesting you things. You don't like them, that's obvious, and you're selfishly rejecting them because you obviously now don't like me. Funny how no on else is saying the same things as you are, yet you'd like to spare "us" as in everyone my opinions." Since you feel that way, I won't let our disagreements get in the way of what friendship we may possibly have in the future. When I said 'we' I am referring to the Dustari Kingdom, not everyone. "How long have you had this Godlike team? Not long, I guess. Otherwise I wouldn't have needed to complain. The great idealists would have fixed my problems, and the great gfx artists would have stunned me with even more impressive looking CTF trophies, and plaques saying 'Long live King WoofWoof'." Yes, it's a pretty recent team but it's never too late. Why should they fix your problems? O_o We're more concered with fixing the problems we have with it, but thanks for offering. And you know that we didn't make the CTF trophy but you seem to enjoy talking about them soooo much I've come to believe you must rather like them. "I'll stop posting, now." Me too |
