Luda had the best application out of the entire selection, I call bull**** on him not being hired WTF!!

maximus_asinus 12-16-2009 06:09 AM

wow, the Venom Fish guy doesn't stop whining, does he? "My application wasn't picked, I am going to unleash a torrent of tears, and accuse the system of corruption."

Back to reality,
Hmk, if you say so. But uhh, next time skip the application step or move as quickly as possible, or do it before you become understaffed. Let the PRs notify you before they start to fail (rofl). My point: Takes too long to get the PRs in.

The input and output rate are imbalanced, they're dropping out too fast. Speed up the process, so its equivalent. (Exaggeration, but you get the point.)

Applications were/are useless, they take up the most time and are the least useful. They're disposable, sooner they're disposed of, sooner you can pick the PRs you're already going to pick, and the sooner I can have my handy-dandy PRs on-command. Everyone wins.

(Most-often, less handy and more dandy), but who cares about details. =o

The only reason it took long was since Sales and me were coming on at different times and we both had to be on.

You obviously don't play Era. If you did you would understand that if Wil (Venom_Fish) were to be hired than 95% of Era would quit. He thinking he has any chance of getting hired is a joke.

lol.
I remember every time there was some sort of staff hiring that Wil could actually apply for, we always unanimously agreed that he wouldn't get hired.

This is the best post i've read on this thread.

Venom_Fish 12-17-2009 02:29 AM

To Squirt: It always takes atleast two-three weeks.

Ironically, the post from Frankie just completely proved my point, roflmao irl.
Bias is involved, thats that. Lexus just needs to accept my dis-owning of him, its been over a year now. Get over it. I'd mostlikely tear that staff team apart from within, Sales is a control-freak, I tend to have alot of influence on 90% of the people I come in contact with. Its how it is, that wouldn't work out. But I am very practical, I know how to stretch my authority / abilities to their limits and beyond.

In any event, the entire point of my posting was stated repeatedly, skip the application process because it takes too long. I don't know what you'd call it in your world (s), but something that takes the most time, yet is the least-required/use, is referred to as "waste" where I come from.

I don't even believe my application was any different from the rest, I simply wrote politically correct answers, like anyone else would, hence why I don't understand the point or sense in them? Anyone intelligent can pass an ethics test, nowadays... they'd simply put the most socially-accepted answers, not their personal preferences. I didn't even plan on applying, lol. Chris Vimes told me to. So take my y'know what out of your throat.

Of course bias is involved. Nobody likes you, so why would they hire you?

Honestly, I think it'd be even worse bias if they DID hire you, since then they'd be biased towards ****ty applicants.

Oh never mind. You submitted an awful and generic application and they didn't hire you. Shock of shocks!

Maybe you should do more to stand out!

Venom_Fish 12-18-2009 12:39 AM

None more generic than yours nor anyone else's, the point of submitting a generic application (like everyone else), is because the questions asked can only be answered in a generic form. Which sums up my point of the applications aren't needed.

Also, valid point from the 35-year still looking for relations on an online game. If I wanted to be liked, I'd be a nice person. The fact that I specifically and willfully treat everyone like trash says otherwise. I don't play a videogame to make friends, to your surprise. Its entertaining to watch children and GROWN MEN alike, spit at you their truest emotions and feelings.

Gareth: Yeah, roflmao lol, why would I want to do you all a favor? Be realistic. I know its hard at your stage in life or lack there of, but try.

Good_Ol_Daze 12-18-2009 12:51 AM

Uh, I'm not 35. I'm probably about the same age as you!

And, actually, I DIDN'T apply to be PR. YOU did. So what are you saying about yourself here?

Nothing good, apparently!

Venom_Fish 12-18-2009 01:22 AM

Last I checked you were in your 20s, which was years ago. I'm 18 Years Old. You're not 18. We all know that, rofl.

I don't understand the you not applying and me applying one, huh? That was weak.
I didn't intend to apply, which meant I wouldn't get hired.
I was told to apply by Chris Vimes, worst case scenario: I don't get hired.

What have I lost or gained? Nice try, but that was mucho flaco. Try again.

What if Chris Vimes told you to hurl your physical body off the nearest high altitude rock formation whilst drinking a shot glass of drano?

Worst case scenario: You move on to a better place (perhaps one where you're finally appreciated). We no longer have to witness a murder each time you decide to post (alas, poor English. He was a good bloke.). And look on the bright side, your ego would likely survive it all. I don't think it's possible to kill that thing.

I'm always reminded of a great quote I once read when I see your posts, Wil.

"Average people think they're not."

He obviously wanted to apply. All this false bravado about "not wanting to apply anyway" just supports the fact that he is infact a complete cry baby. Why would he actually do what Chris tells him to do if he didn't want to do it? Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, tbh.

I doubt Wil would really want PR, he generally avoids staff positions from what I've seen, and not just people not hiring him

Why did he apply then? Unless you're also saying Wil is a complete idiot for wasting his time on, what I've heard, is a pretty long application for a job he didn't want anyway.

It wasn't a long application.

He doesn't display his want for it though. He's personally expressed interest a number of times, at least during my management of Era, and my predecessors management under which I was the Administrator. I believe the positions he wanted the most were the Gang/Guns/Business Admin positions.

Either way, time still wasted :P Though, what you just said contradicts what I read from a staff member, so I don't know who to believe.

Venom_Fish 12-18-2009 10:15 PM

Uh, how is applying for PR and jumping off a cliff even related? What a *****. I'll not even bother ripping you to shreds, you seem like you suffer from depression anyway.

Nice way to avoid the situation, Gareth. What a wise old man.

In any event, I didn't want to apply for the job, nor did I even "want" the job, it was a means to an end. I do have interest in Administration of Gangs, Guns or Business, or any combination of the three. PR position would be simply be a means to achieving that. I think the job is worthless otherwise. They're more like the unpaid janitors if you ask me. Knowing my current standing with the Administration, applying for it would've been a waste of time. UNLESS one of the Administrators tell you to apply because you have their vote. Which changes alot. At that point, applying couldn't do any harm, if I weren't hired... oh well. If I were, well I'm way ahead of schedule.

Next time you want to affirm something immolate, use logic. It never fails, dimwit. Also do your homework, I hadn't applied to many of the previous applications. So not applying to this one wouldn't be out of the "norm" for me. I made a discovery while applying though. I even messaged the Administration about it during my application, which is what I've been stating throughout this thread. The applications are unnecessarily long, and of little to no use.

They take up the most time and resource and are not of much use. Most of the PR team agree, and even part of the administration agrees. Sales says otherwise, but I still have yet to read his reasoning. Since it didn't get much discussion time, I'll assume it was/is ignorable.

It doesn't REALLY make a difference. The fact is, you applied for the god damn job, so you must have wanted to be one. That's the cold, hard logic dimwit. You're actually going to tell me that you applied simply on the instruction of Chris Vimes? Seriously?

Old_Days 12-19-2009 12:49 AM

Wow this thread is getting retarded, I support Wil for PR but since he didnt get it then the best he can do is say, "I'll try harder next time."

Thats like almost me going up to Chris and asking him for all the graal folders access, it wouldnt happen with a normal person, and it sure as hell wouldnt happen with me.

Era pubbies are always predictable, they look for a fight, they get one, and when they lose, they cry. And they cry hard.
You know what, forget all that.
They have something to prove, either to themselves or someone else. And every single word they mutter just proves the point further.

I couldnt agree with you more, I used to do that all the time. But fighting on the internet proves nothing because it just gets both people on both sides aggrivated, and no one ever wins.

I literally applied only on the "hint" of Chris Vimes, PM went something like this: "I'd apply for PR if I were you, I'd vote for you." May be worded differently, or maybe not... same idea though. From there, I applied about a half our later. It was about 3 days before applications were closed, lol. So yeah, I never intended on applying up until then. So like I said, dimwit. I never intended to apply.

Hm, I find it flattering that you know me and I have no clue who you are... well to be fair, I really don't care.

In any event, I did state in a previous post of mine that I'd simply take that position as a means to an end. Therefore, its not the position I want, its the "leg up", so to speak. Taking what I want from that position, is easier than from this one. Therefore, I'd move to a new platform.

I don't get how you deduct power hungry from all that, but you aren't the most logical one, so I'll let that slide.

If thats the case, all humans are naturally greedy creatures. Since we all like to have/take what we want. Using what means there are available to us. Seeing as thats all that is, and I agree with you... I am power hungry, not more than anyone else.

As for Gareth: Shutup. Lol, seriously. I enjoy old men like you, you complain about era players day in and day out. Yet, day in and day out you're on era communicating with those players. In my opinion, have a problem with a situation? Solve it or avoid it. I don't like the applications? If this doesn't solve it, I won't fill it out. Plain and simple. Hate era players? Don't play era.
