heh. Well, also do a lot of moving threads around to the right forums, closing threads that need to be, editing threads for content (or whatever might need editing, sometimes I am requested to edit a thread or post by an individual), merge threads that are on the same topic (especially if they are started on the same day) and even splitting threads if it starts to turn into two different conversations worthy of seperate threads ^_^

Not at all! Mods do various things: they moniter their forum/s and move topics to their correct forums. They can also delete threads, and close (allow no new replies) threads or, open them (allow posts to be added to that thread, again), and they can edit posts in their forum/s as well.

Unixmad was nice and ran it by me, my removal from the levels forums moderation. I think he was a little surprised when I agreed with Lycia's assessment that I never do anything there.
Ironically, now that I'm not mod there, I have the time to read them. Oh well. Hated modding anyway. If somebody calls me a dumbash, do I edit the ash out? Do I edit their post to saying "I have nothing clever to say in retaliation"? Do I delete it? If the thread started strong but turned into a flame, do I delete the flames? The thread? What if the thread's old anyway, and the writer's question has been answered? Do I close it?
These are questions I don't have time to worry about if I'm making mummies...
