I can get high and play video games for hours and go ace a test. I did it all the time.

Again though, you really miss the point here, so if Graal gives him a headache and he doesn't want to put the time in,THEN PISS OFF!

We don't need people who don't like the game or want to work on it, because then we get nothing good and we may as well quit.

STOP BEING DENSE AND TRYING TO DEFEND HIS EDUCATION, like Nat said, we don't give a **** about other peoples lives, no one cares about mine, no one cares about yours, that's it.
We all play the game in hopes of having some enjoyment out of it, its their job to provide that, if they don't want to do it, they don't have to, but they should quit then. Stop being selfish and stop telling us you will produce content when they really never will.

And don't tell me i should do something, i'm just here to tell them they suck as video game developers, I am a player, i have always been a player, i voice my opinion as a player, i chose not to be development, but that does not mean I can't tell them they are doing every single little thing wrong. And clearly, what i keep saying has ended up being true.

BlackSolider 04-30-2009 06:45 PM

So because they chose to be developers, they have to develop during all of their free time? They can't take a week or two off to focus on more important things?

Rufus 04-30-2009 06:53 PM

Lmao Tatsumi is going overboard now, this is getting embarrassing.

Honestly though, I think the Manager review may have killed classic. Thor moves to manager becomes less active, DC moves to dev admin.... becomes less active, Whitedragon(Although im not sure what he did before) becomes asst. dev admin-- and I haven't seen him idling on RC for awhile.

Uh oh!

EDIT: Also playercount has dropped off.

BlackSolider 05-01-2009 06:16 AM

Managers being less active...playercount dropping off...

Correlation?

I'll let you decide for yourselves...

Whitedragon was/is asst Dev Admin before this whole manager review.

Thor is pretty active from what I saw. Storm...Can't really speak on his behalf.

Also Tats, I'm probably the only GC that's on Dev (Clel is GC Dev but when has he ever hosted regularly to begin with), and yet I still remain the most active GC in my eyes.

Good point, best so far.

I'm getting tired of every single one of Gladius' posts talking about motivation or how there's no incentive to work.

People act like there is a gun to their head so that's why they remain staff but at the same time don't do anything.

Just quit as "staff" and go do whatever else, no one will care.

BlackSolider 05-01-2009 11:17 PM

People remain staff because they have more power than they would have otherwise. Would you just give that up when you can hang onto it? It'd be the "good" thing to do, if you didn't plan to use your powers to work for the benefit of classic, but it wouldn't be smart (from the individual's perspective) to just give up all your power and go back to being "normal".

I'm not trying to valiadate what some people do or even support them; I'm simply saying that few people with power ever simply give up their power (George Washington would be the best example I can think of of someone who did) when they can keep it.

you're trying to validate it plenty with your tired lines regarding motivation and incentive.

BlackSolider 05-02-2009 12:34 AM

Actually, my recentest post attempts to explain why people wouldn't just give up their power. My previous posts attempted to explain why people might not be motivated to work. There's a difference, though the two can be linked.

jacob_bald6225 05-02-2009 01:12 AM

If management understood proper theories on motivation they'd be doing well!

BlackSolider 05-02-2009 01:23 AM

no **** there's a difference but as long as there are people like you defending staff who are doing nothing you're not going to see Classic change at all

BlackSolider 05-02-2009 04:17 AM

I don't recall saying staff who don't help classic should stay in power.

I do recall saying why they might want to stay in power even when they aren't helping classic.

If anything, I want classic to be as fun as possible for everyone who plays it. In order to do that, we need a staff who is willing to spend part of their free time helping to make classic better. But like I said before, we can't just expect people to give up power if no one is forcing them to. Until a manager, or other powerful person, steps in and starts shaking the staff team up, classic isn't going anywhere.

jacob_bald6225 05-02-2009 04:21 AM

Classic's OW needs to be re-envisioned.

MysticX2X 05-02-2009 04:53 AM

There just needs to be other reason to travel to other parts of the overworld. I think deleting several warp rings like a year ago sort of killed that.....

BlackSolider 05-02-2009 04:55 AM

It'd be cool if each town had its own use, or at least guild fort or something. Snowtown and babord have bowling alleys, but beyond that many towns aren't worth visiting simply because there is nothing to do there. Not to mention you can't get to many towns easily/quickly like mystic said.

Mark Sir Link 05-02-2009 06:37 AM

it'd be dumb to kid ourselves and think that having multiple towns with hot spots would serve some sort of good purpose considering the most active servers have 100 or so players on them. Roughly speaking, that's enough to populate and use one town. While there is reason for things to be spread out on the overworld (travel counting as some sort of quest element) it is dumb to expect several towns being populated when each one would divine the playercount among itself and another. If there were 5 towns, you'd be lucky to have 5 players at each.

The overworld could do with a huge shrink considering almost none of the excess space is used. Babord is currently worthless, Avalon is worthless, Nimda Island, etc.

Primary focus should be making Graal City not suck (and actually making it more like a castle village).

A more linear layout would make traveling grand-- like taking into consideration what you want the player to go beside while going from one place to another.

That's such a perfect description of Master Storm! Except that you have to throw in a bit of "pathetic" into it somehow for him.

xnervNATx 05-02-2009 02:22 PM

talking about ms , when was his last login?

LordSquirt 05-02-2009 02:50 PM

it's Saturday and there is only 4 people on!

BlackSolider 05-02-2009 03:30 PM

@ Kevin

We don't need each town to have a constant population, we just need people visiting each town occasionally if they like the attractions there. Maybe each weekend we have "special events" (baddie invasions, guild wars, etc.) at different towns or something.

Shadow87 05-02-2009 03:32 PM

LOL ITS SATURDAY AND ONLY 2 PEOPLE ARE ON.

And Rufus, again, you make it easier and easier to say you are retarded every time you post. I guess Ares to.

You said i am going overboard? What is this? I type something long, and whatever I have posted always turns out true, so that's going overboard? I don't see you ever being right, just always being an idiot.

I guess rufus is just upset his life obsession is very very dead.

And ranger you may be on every day, but massing stupid **** constantly doesn't count as work.

And again, I don't understand why everyone has to be so dense, they chose to be developers, so yes they should develop. I am not saying they have to work 24/7, but time restrictions of working would probably pick up the pace. Certain amount of time a week just like everyone else. Again, its a job, paid or not paid, its a job to work on the server, if you arent going to do it, why have the tag?

Why is that so hard to understand? And if that can't be understood, then there really is no hope for classic LOL.

Guess you are **** out of luck rufus, better find a new hobby.

Throw as many defensive insults as you like, but don't act like you're ever going to be taken seriously with your childish rapport. Rather than providing a medium for discussion of issues you may or may not feel strongly about (undecided, as you just seem to enjoy arguing) you're just providing hilarity instead and wonder why no one listens

yo tatsumi u suck go away

Shadow87 05-02-2009 04:30 PM

I don't wonder why no one listens, actually some people do, but to me it doesn't really matter. That is what you think in your warped little mind Rufus. None of what I said is really obvious, because if it was others would have been saying it and classic wouldn't be such trash.
You get way to pissy Rufus, are you sure you aren't a woman irl? Besides rufus, nothing you have done has ever helped at all so I don't know you feel the need to ever respond to my posts, thinking that you are above me or anyone else for some reason. You really are one of the ***est kids i have ever met. I guess you are from England right? Makes sense.
And we'll see if no one listens when Delteria comes out and it turns out i was right about that to and it just takes care of our problem of a garbage server for us.
I also find it funny that vincent posts every time after you, its like you guys are going out ^_^ cute.

You're in denial if you believe that you are posting with no intended audience. Identifying problems and issues are pretty easy too, especially when there's a lot of them. Everything that you said really is that obvious, but tackling problems and issues is a completely different story.

Edit: lol @ additional, edited in insults.

Unpredlctable 05-02-2009 04:52 PM

hey tatusmi stfu no one cares what you say

p.s. who is vincent

Heres Vizmar saying what he thinks about graal:

Think its a fake, go ahead. Who knows.

A complete reset is a very good idea. Just in case stats can be saved..

Incorrect, I'd favor having less but more important buildings on the overworld.

Allowing anybody to have a house on the overworld was a mistake, it should be well laid out and not have 100's of player houses.

Less towns with more importance is the way to go.

I actually had faith in Storm when PWA was on his ass and he was trying to be active, but now he returned to his old ways.

BlackSolider 05-02-2009 07:25 PM

Let's ask for another review!

LOLOLOLOL jk.

Kamaeru 05-02-2009 09:28 PM

The only type of content that gets scripted around here is GC content.

The actual game world is neglected--lottery is the epitome of this.

"Let's just give players quest items in a lottery!" "We can take their tickets this way!" "Such a problem, these tickets!"

Wa-derp!

They think this is a good idea regardless of the fact that they have people around willing and able to design a real game for them to put this already scripted content into.

It's not that the management is necessarily incapable... it seems that they are actually not willing. Which is scary for anyone who cares about the server, to say the least.

I would much rather have a more incapable manager with willing intentions and goals than vice-versa.
