Because staff get hired, idle and do nothing. They realize they will get fired if they don't do something, so they go do extremely easy jobs (like changing tiles) so if a manager ask why are they so lazy, they can point to a job that took them 30 seconds and get at least a month longer to idle and do nothing before they have to do something.

Everything you say and have said has always been so true.

On a side note, why don't we actually hire staff who will update buildings that currently support nothing, instead of updating buildings with a preexisting layout?

They want it to be known that they do things on rare occasions. Sometimes Kimmy can do good levels but from the more recent things I have seen she should have never been hired as a LAT, Why would you keep her on when there are so many in the community better that would do the work?

I agree.

Level making is generally very simple, and many people can make pleasing levels that would be criticized positively. Also, I'm sure that most of those players would be far more active.

im guess charlie is one of them who thinks hes amazing and should be staff

salesman 02-05-2009 11:11 PM

When I was Dev Admin and was looking over LAT applications, there was honestly nobody that I wanted to hire. They all were very...bad. It took me a while to pick a few that I thought could improve, but the point is, there's not a huge pool of talented LATs to choose from.

I've never applied for Dev Staff on Era, I could but I choose not to, I see and know quite a few people who are excellent LATs. Those who are generally don't apply though.

@Sales
I sort of answered that in the above part of this post.

the same thing happened when Icarus and I were hiring developers. you have like 50 applications and none of them are good so you're lowering your standards just to hire people.

Mmhm, I've been told I'm pretty picky though, too

Frankie 02-06-2009 02:56 AM

there's no reason not to be picky. RC shouldn't be handed out to just anyone.

DKH89 02-06-2009 05:46 AM

sales u have a right to b picky, no one will argue with that fact that ur an amazing Dev.

Frankie 02-13-2009 07:59 PM

bringing this thread back to comment on the new ugly hospital levels that kimmy made.

in before:
"stfu the levels look good"
"ur just a bitter ex-staff"
"ur just bitter cuz u were fired"
"stop *****ing about everything"
"afraid of change"
"an update is an update"

I think I covered everything, but yeah. just seems to me the LATs have nothing better to do but replace old (and better looking) levels with their own.

Aldaris 02-13-2009 09:19 PM

I agree. The staff are really making Era look like a wasteland. I have to admit that I am royally annoyed that I hadn't filled out a LAT application when I had the chance.

I offered my help to Angel; I think it's safe to say I'd suffice.

Freudian_slip 02-13-2009 10:11 PM

I'm looking at the new hospital and honestly it's not bad, and well the old one wasn't exactly anything special...those yellow tiles didn't even look like a hospital. But I'm sitting here wondering why theres a fish tank in here and why there isn't a elevator and only stairs. I know people never used the old elevator but who the Hell uses the stairs in a real hosptial? Also, stairs are generally made into their own room where you climb them to get to the next level. The old one didnt do this ethier, but just saying it makes more sense honestly expecially since the building is straight up and not going at an angle like the stairs make it look lik it is.

Anywho, I like the white look to it because it's very hospital-ish and I like the food pyrmid chart haha...thats a very ncie touch. Be nice to have someone had GFX life support machines to this or something.

salesman 02-13-2009 10:30 PM

It's okay...I'm not really a fan of the random jagged carpet technique that Era LATs tend to use so often though.

I'm guilty of doing it a few times myself, but it just doesn't feel right in a hospital.

Frankie 02-14-2009 12:09 AM

I don't know. I'm not liking it at all.

Older levels seem to be so much better than the work of new LATs. I really wish they would stop replacing levels that don't need to be replaced.

BlueMelon 02-14-2009 12:34 AM

The new hosp are very nicely leveld but it does not fit the hospital theme....
