|
I think Era is a breading ground fro communists, rofl.
|
honestly a hotel doesn't really need a player owner, not many people will use it anyway if any. when its first released they will but after that no one, might as well make it npc for a novelty.
|
I don't get it, why are the guns prices still this high? when I go out there and try to get a gun I can't get anything else then like dual k180s, I have arround 10k and it just goes down every day.
I mean when I go arround ask this like "How much is an mp5?" they will be like, 20 mil, and I don't understand, because nobody even has this much money in their bank accounts D: |

When the good guns cost 10 million +, that's a surfire problem to be dealt with quick.... |
Yeah but people trade guns for guns or items for items, what Im trying to say is, they can't technicly say the gun is 10 mil+ because nobody has that kind of money, so when im going to buy someones SD cannon and they say its 100k+ and I only got like 20k, what am I suppose to do? trade them items I dont have? D:

Because Yocas, they always talk about how one person has more than them and that businesses shouldnt be owned by players even though they paid a high sum for it and have to pay fees to keep it running under Angel's system, not to mention probally a forced paycheck system. They want everyone to be "equal" by not allowing people to own things that people enjoy to own AND just be in as a scrub.
Though i agree the current system for businesses is complete crap, I think Angel's system will be fun and a lot more "fair." I don't think however businesses like BHer or PPA should ever be sold off, they are Elitest groups and if anyone else owned them they'd bomb in a week. |

I actually like working to get better stuff. And if one works hard enough to earn something I believe they should get the things that they deserve. No one gets anywhere by doing nothing. Take a look at Sales. I remember a couple of resets ago when he became one of the richest players on Era. Of course, everyone believed that he duped which was just a sign of jealousy by the public. But look at him now, he eventually became one of the main NATs for Era. |
They arent complainging about favoritism when it is a fair system of buying and losing your business. They are complaining because they don't want to work to get the money to get a business like Sales did as you said.
I dotn see how anyone could possibly complain about Angel's system, it's fair as hell. |
How does Angel's system work? Did I miss it somewhere?
|

Shes putting this system into Era Hotel for current Era though and eventually in all businesses for their current owners to deal with. As long as it's not ridiclously hard or too easy to keep a business, it should be a lot more fair than the current system. |

But I'd rather the guard idea when it comes to the PK aspect though. Mainly because the businesses could still be used as an escape source. At least with the guards you'll have a chance to kill the runner before you're arrested. That's just my opinion. |
Auctioning off businesses played a huge role in screwing things up.
It causes players to hoard their money and wait until a business is auctioned...the problem is that out of the 20 people who are saving up for that businesses, only ONE person gets it. So you have a **** load of money in the economy. I was one of the hoarders, and I didn't spend my money on anything until I finally got a business. I have a feeling that's how things will be if you implement this system. I had a plan for how to release businesses, it was a little more fair, but it would require a lot more work. [it was also automated] EDIT: I like the idea of bills like you mentioned, I'm just talking about how to release the business to the public to avoid auctions =S. |
I personally have no problem with money hoarders considering after all the work they did, of course they should be rewarded. As long as the business doesn't make ridiciulous amounts of money and padi workers, why would it matter really?
Anywho, i'm sure Angel would love to hear your suggestions. Shes pretty flexible when it comes to ideas and listening to others. |

20 people save up large amounts of money for an auction, but only ONE gets to spend that money. This leaves 19 more players with craploads of money that they probably wont spend until they win an auction themselves. The money coming in would be greater than the money going out, and soon, everything is worth 5 mil again. I guess as long as the idea behind the auctions isn't to remove money from the economy, then you're not doing anything wrong according to your goals...but previous auctions were actually designed to remove money and ended up doing the opposite. |
Oh alright, I see what you are saying now. Because there are so many people saving up to get that business, it increases the money flow to extremes, but I don't honestly see a more fair way than auctioning it off. Whats your idea? I'm trying my best to have my job not nesscary so theres no middle man saying who and who can't own a business and where it lets anyone own one (minus things like PPA/BHer though. Sorry, but it's a sad fact that 98% of the server can't run them)
|
Well, I was really only referring to how to release businesses immediately after the reset...you could still possibly put the business up for sale if a previous owner cannot pay the bills...but initially, I don't think it's a good idea to auction them.
Basically, my idea started businesses out almost like a little quest. An NPC in the business tells players he's looking for x amount of workers, if you do some things for him, he will hire you. After accomplishing his goals, you're awarded a tag, and the people who were hired then compete (in a way) to take charge of the business. Hardest worker prevails. This could either be automatic, or manual via the Business Admin. I can understand that you might not want "TheKings" and "Swifty G's" owning businesses, but even if you auction them, you may get the very same results. This is a basic outline of it...I had typed up over 1000 words on how it would work, and solutions to all the potential problems I could think of. I believe I saved it in my comments on Era Dev if anyone's interested. |
Applications for buisnesses in my opinion money is how you buy it rl but I think apps need to be made and money paid?

I have an idea for businesses. This is mainly to prevent newbies from owning an entire business. Just as a disclaimer this idea is pretty much a rough draft / concept and may initially sound dumb but please bare with me that this could actually work. It's pretty much for the mechanism of buying businesses.
Each business would be divided into categories; service, production, and administration. Keep in mind this is assuming that there will be plenty of player-ran businesses. Example: - Restaurant / Bar => Service - Ammo / Gun shop => Production - Hotel / Storage Co. => Administration In the beginning, all of the businesses will be NPC-ran until a player buys it out. But before players can purchase a business they must have a license for that type. If the player does not have the required license they are allowed to keep it on hold for a short amount of time. The hold must be paid in full. In order to retrieve a license the player would have to go through a series of procedures -- mainly test. Yes, test. It may sound awkward but this could really filter out the players that would potentially cause the business to be a complete fail. The tests would be taken at the same building you would get the license. The first part of the procedure would be to go through a tutorial for that particular type. The tutorial would inform the player the basics for running the business type such as commands, player interaction, and budget (bills / payments). The second procedure is taking the test. The test would basically be a multiple choice exam based on the tutorial. Any grade below '70' will result in a fail. The test would only be able to be taken once a day. Each test, including the first, will require a fee of $300 (depending on how much everything cost in the reset). If the player passes the exam he would qualify for that particular license. The license itself would cost $1000 - $4000 (like I said, depending on what the average cost of items are after the reset). Once the player has the license he can finally buy the business. Any comments? |
Wow. Looks like this is going to be in the same boat Meditech is in.
THANKS GUYS |
Were just reopening an older part of the gmap to be used to give the players something to do more, ofcourse it's not going to fix the current ecomony it's far beyond to fix that problem as it's gotten way out of hand. We've put forward alot of ideas for the improved era which we we are working hard as possible on but in the mean time angel and deo are just giving the players another thing to do while we sort out this whole mess. Now since we have a stable team things can change for the best.

stop saying we like you're having a big impact lol
