i ve an idea about bank...
they can make grow up our money +1% each days! lol

(ps:ive a problem ...is it normal that at 10.00 am ... it is the nigt on era? or its my screen...)

Nataxo 11-12-2008 03:13 PM

a real life bank won't work at era... Because it won't be able to lend money to people and the current one can't be anymore safe

Oh and it is normal you getting that, it's part of the scenario though you can disable the effect b y saying /daynight or something... You can also try /help and click F2 for more useful commands ;)

Yocas 11-12-2008 06:07 PM

Wrath of the Lich King comes out tomorrow. I don't think Era's player count is going to be higher than 50 for a while. :(

I'm talking about big things...we did get smaller things done on our own --which is saying a lot considering nothing ever got done when there was actually an administration. :oo:

Hell, I don't think I was ever assigned a single project when I was first hired as a LAT...everything I did was on my own (I don't think I need to name those things either).

As soon as the globals decided on Mange and I as server admins, we started working on big projects. First it was the halloween event because it was around halloween, but we've moved on to other things. Like I said though, they can't be done overnight...especially with Andy quitting, and Crow being inactive.

What Era needs is a new set of ideas. Exciting new quests, events, etc. that keeps the playerlist steady. But for these new ideas to take place, we need a solid and working staff team. Everything to do with the server is correlative with the staff members. Notice when there are active, creative-thinking staff members at the helm that the playerlist rises. And when, yet again, management corruption takes hold and the power shift changes, resulting with building, event, etc. antiquity, the playerlist hits a bottom.

I know "politicallness" does not usually reach to 2D, small company games: but we need a strong administrative team. And from there, it's just small baby steps.

Elaborate.

I already sent you a PM :)

and the departments at Era are currently disabled... and the houses are EXTREMLY expensive... so deparments should be a great thing :)

Will you shut up

The only thing you and icarus did was totally **** everything over and destroy what tiny fragment of balance that was left in the server

Now everybody runs around with coveted 'rare' WW2 weapons that are overpriced to ****ing hell, most decent weapons are SO expensive now that making money by the ordinary methods isn't feasible and therefore the only way to obtain such equipment is by either having incredibly generous friends, or scamming someone dry or spending obscene amounts of time on the game

100k should be an absolutely ****ing absurd amount of money as it was back in the day. Right now it's worth about as much as a car was when era was fresh from the first modern reset. It's pathetic.

The server doesn't need any NEW EXCITING CONTENT or whatever everybody else rambles on about of that calibre. It doesn't need new businesses or guns, or new gangs and features - it needs a goddamn reset, a proper open economy (going back to andy's player own businesses system is a start) and regular power distribution between players instead of allowing a select minority of people to hoard all the power for indefinite amounts of time

The reason people are losing faith as a whole in where graal/era is ultimately going is by the utterly pathetic and downright stupid methods development seems to take in ensuring players continue playing the game. Distributing power to singular people in order to instill hope (and therefore, the chance for another person to seize such power) and promote gameplay is a shocking design choice and can be accurately matched to CJ's whole 'gelats' system that buys cards and all that jazz. You do it once, see how utterly useless the cards and crap are and then get sick of the entire concept and never do it again. It's like development choices are harming the players and scolding them for playing the game

Era needs a reset, a restaff and a good reassessment of it's fundamental design choices to ensure the entire project doesn't collapse inwards into devoblivion, just like 2k1

What?

Crono 11-13-2008 12:27 PM

I for one liked the player run businesses. It put me off era-unemployment and enabled me to buy my pair of AP7's. :)

What the hell are you talking about? You don't know me and you have no idea what I did when I was partially in charge. I NEVER touched gun stats. Only if really really needed (like the SG17 one time, way too overpowered) I hated editting guns because it ****ed with the economy. Therefor I hardly did it. I didn't read anything past the part where you blamed me because you obviously have no clue what the hell you're talking about.

please go back to whatever hole you came back from.
thanks.

natey_440 11-13-2008 01:49 PM

Era needs a reset, less guns.. Some that require more skill to use.

Era needs to be completely player-run. No NPC shops (other than Mining/Lead/Iron, maybe some others?) Have different shops Cars?, Guns, Ammo, Melee, and maybe some sort of new stuff? Casino - Give it to someone that deserves it.

Gangs are in really bad shape. Maybe go through the gangs, make stuff better. Update stuff?

Eh, I have many ideas. I just won't give any out to the public.

You're just as guilty as icarus for not slapping some ****ing sense into him when you had the authority to, especially when you could probably see first hand how ****ing broken the WW2 weapons were

This is why I resigned early on because I could clearly see Era was just going to dig itself a deeper hole with you two in command - I come back a year later and be-****ing-hold, the thing is screwed up beyond all comprehensible belief. Despite how much people complained about Smu/Andy up until they resigned/quit/were removed due to inactivity, whenever Era was under their guidance it was always the most fun and well balanced, especially with the player-owned businesses system that andy implemented.

But whatever, thankfully you didn't **** up era for too long with your halfassed managing, it's still in some state capable of repair

Yocas 11-13-2008 05:14 PM

Actually, the player count hasn't gone anywhere. It's the same steady amount as it has been for months now. The only reason it's dropping is because people quitting Graal in general or because of *cough* WotLK *cough*. Seriously, some of my CS classes were almost empty cause of this crack addicting game; it's really pathetic. The only reason I didn't buy it is because I didn't want to end up like some of my friends and skip school/work on a regular basis just for a stupid game.

But anyways. What makes games last long and entertaining is more features. Why do you think WoW has so many players and ones that have stayed on it for years; because of it's graphics? No. It's because they have a **** load of stuff to do and work for. If Era were to be more creative and imagitive it could really bring a lot more people to the server.

Take Runescape as another example. Have you seen the graphics? I can't tell the difference between a tree and a wall; it really hurts my eyes. Yet, they maitain a high player count. Why? Because they have a lot of stuff to work on, mainly skill levels. Era needs to figure out ways to keep the players busy instead of doing the repetitive and pointless raidings. This is pretty much why I never joined a gang longer than a day, they are all the same.

"k guyz let's raid [insert gang name here]"

"RUSH TEH FR0NT D0AR"
*failed attempt*

"RUSH TEH FR0NT DOAR"
*failed attempt*

"RUSH TEH FR0NT DOAR"
*success*

*Mass Message to Opposing Gang*

*Opposing Gang members logoff/tagoff*

/repeat x12

It isnt just Era going down.. Whole Graal is dieng

I like the fact that people are taking note that guns need
adjustment.

I was starting to think that high-ups didn't see it as a priority.

You know I do. :(
Pking is one of the biggest facets of Era's gameplay, and pretty much everything else you can do revolves around it.

Freudian_slip 11-13-2008 06:20 PM

If my party system is put into place and guns are fixed, I'll be happy <3

Mostly guns being fixed

Oh, and we don't need less guns. Not sure why that'd effect anything? Just crappy GFXed guns that were just thrown together have ridiciulous stats need deleted. I mean, they are uggo anyway.

We don't need less guns; we need to adjust the guns we currently have.
Increase the freezeplayer, decrease the fire rate.

I think they're running low on money.

Seven years ago, it was $20 for unlimited playerworld access.

Now, it's $55 for one year playerworld access,
and you don't even get to name your account.

So your first argument fails, now you blindly throw another one at me? I had no authority when the WW2 guns were released. I was no more than an LAT. Why I never touched them? Because there's no point. I wanted to balance them off of the live server, which I was getting to before I resigned. Everyone just assumed I was going to keep gun stats the same, *****. Surree.

Again, you have NO idea what you're talking about. You were long gone before I was made administrator.

The player-owned business system that was around when Smu was in charge was absolute garbage. I don't feel like going into detail since I have about 100 times. Those businesses were the first **** up of the economy, and only started a week after the reset.

You said yourself you weren't here for a year, yet you tell me I halfassed my position as administrator? I was one of the only ones trying to keep the server up. I put my job on the line to get a dev server that right now the current administration are using to make Era better. The same people that pretty much replaced me, yeah. I demand at least some respect for what I did.

Screw off, seriously.

My major issue with Frankie and Icarus was they thought they could do gun stats on their own. If I could have laughed in their face the moment they told me they were going to do it, I would have.

Very very glad Meph, Diaz and me are balancing them together.

Actually, I'm wanting the GG to go back to the
way it was originally.

Without stands:
  • Insane spread
  • Pushes player back slightly
  • High fire rate
With stands:
  • Standstill
  • Able to control the spread with Left and Right; Up and down
    change direction.
  • High fire rate
Heated bullet(F):I'm eager to bring this feature back.
  • Higher freeze
  • Low fire rate
  • Uses 3 ammo per shot
  • Deals more damage than the regular bullet
  • Indicated with a light effect on the bullet, different sound effect
  • Can be used with or without stands; same stand/nostand functionality apply.

We don't need to change all guns, or the way things are. I believe we need to REMOVE them. Look at old Era, you always keep saying it was so good.. But we never had these things back then? Like the new guns and the new business and all that new stuffs? :O

So, maybe we need to remove alot of things and then we can talk about what should be added. :D I don't know :P
