ive still have a question. and i need an answer on it.
Why only 4 permanents weapons gonna be give?
why not 8 or 10?
i find 4' a bit low.
no? more'over i guess in DM events, about 30 players will be in the arena to win them.
so u have 1/30 chances to get it.
>_<

If the playercount ever gets high enough I'll host a few off myself before November 1st and 2nd.

Depends on the amount of people online.

Higher playercount = better prizes.

Uh, even if there were gelat weapons involved in an event (Which they rarely are), then it doesn't mean that there is no competition at all. In fact there would be even more of the element of competition because people would have to overcome the advantages that certain people possess. I'm not saying it's a good thing, just that there is still competition there.

Maybe they could be permanent weapons, but on bunker only, because just like all weapons you find on bunker, you only use on bunker.
Wouldn't that be an idea?

No.

The concept of Bunker is that you only start off with a combat knife. If you go "Oh, AND this" you eliminate the thing that sets it apart from all the other planets.

"Last stand events," the ones with the bots that an ET spawns that mow people down until there is, of course, one guy left, are horrible, and I emphasize on this.. HORRIBLE events for distributing weapons to the public. These kinds of events pose all sorts of problems, like the fact that an ET can choose who wins and who loses. All an ET would have to do is spawn bots all on one side, where their "friends" are not located, and then leave their non-staff related buddies unscaved. Winning a "Last Stand Event" is also determined by how much money a player has in their pocket. Cookies and medkits are large factors in determining who wins-- Whoever has more stuff to heal with, or who came with more hitpoints will win.

Strategy? What strategy? I see people standing in corners while the bots fire a straight line of bullets that pass by them, I see people huddled against each other, trying to get the other to take the blunt of the attack from a stationary enemy, and I see people being attacked by several bots while others stay inert, not taking any hostile fire in any form.

Does this cowardice truly deserve to be rewarded with a prize-- a prize that should belong to someone who worked hard for this opportunity? Zone's event systems are currently awarding people by sheer luck, which is perfectly okay in scarce amounts, and those with outstanding advantages not related to skill, but to wallet size and administration relationships.

EDIT:- This is addressing the fact that several of the weapons are being hosted off in such a matter.. Perm ones, even.

While this is very true it isn't the case with any of the current ETs.

When players are huddled in corners we spawn bots in corners. Bots are only stationary when players aren't moving. And I can think of a few one could use strategy while playing this event.

I don't think its accurate to say that "Zone's event systems" are based on luck since this one event has an element of luck to it.
It is fair to say however, "Bot Events are awarding people partially based on luck."

We don't play Bot Survival that often. And Bot Survival isn't going to be an Event for any of the Permanent Halloween Event Weapons.

Perhaps I can alter "Last Man Standing" Event though.
Currently the event works as so...
Players are gathered in a large box using G18 only.
Bots are spawned all around players, players fight the bots to stay alive.
Last player alive wins.

I could alter it so that while being the last player alive does have its advantages, we could determine the winner as the person who kills the most bots. That would motivate the players to stay in the battle and not avoid the bots.

It wouldn't matter. Everyone would still try to kill each other, because after everyone's dead, then they could just shoot the bots themselves.

I don't know if any of you know this but Halloween is during October. I seriously doubt you were all too busy to host during the actual month Halloween happens.

We're hosting Halloween events on the 1st and 2nd of November for good reason. Everyone will obviously be busy trick or treating and/or partying so we will host events the following two days after Halloween.

Shadow5596321 10-26-2008 05:31 AM

A few days before the 30th-31st seems better, no?

Jesper 10-26-2008 11:18 AM

In the Netherlands, we don't have Halloween :-(

Lol, Halloween will have much of your white text said yes. But I believe Shadow told me he wanted these done November 1st/2nd because those were Saturday/Sunday. Its easier for players to log on Saturday/Sunday.

None the less, we have been hosting events before Halloween and we likely will on Halloween as well.

Shadow is not the Events Administrator, you are. Everything Events related is your responsibility.

I didn't say it wasn't my responsibility. I'm just saying I didn't pick the dates :P. Before I let Shadow do this stuff though I had selected different dates. Not that I disagree with his selection in any way.

Not released all at once, no..

I'm giving you the basic idea of what the prices will be. Also, as far as I'm concerned there will never be permanent weapons in the shop again, except holiday weapons.

Unfortunately I'm not. It was hard enough convincing Stefan to actually think about adding weapons to the shop, even more difficult to keep that thought in his head and was near impossible to get him to actually add them. You of all people should know how difficult he can be.

Maybe later I will try to convince him to add one of the newer weapons as a permanent shop item (or even as a weapon for a specific class), but right now you guys should be grateful you got anything.

Why the hell should we? The gold subscribers who pay Stefan should expect a little more variety in the weapons available that don't require retarded gelats. Stefan is a tightass, there are plenty of those in the world, so you have to sort it out.

Nataxo 11-01-2008 04:47 PM

Siriously Huwajux, thanks to Dante, Zone has improved like I've never seen it before.

Dante rocks.
