In my opinion, the staff just don't seem to want to take ideas from the players and atleast test them out to see if it'll do any good.

That was the old staff team. Some stuff has actually been done since Tig got manager position.

There's timers for every hacking on there. Only 2 are forever I think.

Ban length on each individual banned account is set, but there isn't anything like a list of rules with breaking this rule = this punishment, so two different players can receive different punishments for the same crime.

Like...?
I haven't heard of these updates.

That's true... It's just supposed to be common sense and not being abusive with it...

A decent suggestion will present an alternative to the present system in question, or an addition to "repair" or upgrade. An example "Anti-Suggestions" might be... "The idling on GK sucks" while a suggestion might look more like "The idling on GK sucks, we should enforce disconnection after extended periods of inactivity in addition to scipts to detect and report macro use".

To be blunt the sort of statements such as the one I have quoted strikes me as quite stupid. I have previously asked for players productive input and I found it was hard to find; between the lack of interest I had to deal with anti-suggestions. The results were useless.

I welcome suggestions, but that doesn't mean they will be developed. Any people serious about their suggestions may want to take the time to refine it.

One suggestion I have anyone who wishes to express their disappointment might be to avoid sweeping generalizations like "the staff"; there is no burgeoning force working around the clock to develop new material for GK. There is only Tigairius and myself with the exception of the few kingdom related staff - who are typically idling.

First try playing the game on a trial account.
Do you like what you're getting?
If not, change it.

Now try playing the game as a newbie with Gold.
Do you like what you're getting NOW?
If not, change it.

Repeat this process while you're going through the levels, as well as take ideas from players if they have any good ones.

That's called incentive. It's so users have incentive to upgrade. Cyberjoureurs utilize irritation for incentive, much like Microsoft does with their "Genuine Advantage" scheme. There are other equally effective means, but that is the one they chose for their server. I don't think we have much play with it.

This is called a challenge. You do not like being new because you have nothing. The challenge is to get stuff.

You have only offered a process for deriving ideas of my own, I am still very happy to hear yours. But don't forget that I did not simply walk on GK one day and suddenly become staff - I had to play, and that was long before there were as many nice people as there are now. Things were much less "friendly" back then.

nah, theres not nearly as much plat as there used to be. no one can even afford to buy diamonds anymore. i remember hiding stacks of 50k plat behind buildings so staff wouldnt find it on my acc, that was years ago though ;p

edit: also, about satain, his items should be taken. considering i lost my prepped ice sword, and my bro got his sorc hammer taken... and we werent even banned, we just quit for a few years

Charlie bit me.

Give more gear options and less crying will be happening.

I think it's safe to say that there is more plat now than ever before - so much that plat is actually worth a bit less than it used to be (which was pretty bad to begin with).

Well I started out nublike a couple weeks ago, and I'm now level 11 which is strong enough to start killing lords if you've got a good blessed bow. You get a friend to bless your bow to +4 Gov, get a +3 bile or however many dagger, and you're in business. I also had a random complete stranger gift me a RoT and a RoF. Saffon gave me evil bomy lord helmet +3. I find and sell a lot of diamonds, then buy scrolls.

I will admit you do have to have help leveling up at first. I had people stand still while I slowly killed some wolfs and such... that's what I think is the biggest problem for noobs, not owning a ring of war. :)

That's good to hear - we're trying to move towards a more "community" style of play; where groups of players work together rather than individuals working on a single goal.

RealJuggernaut 08-31-2008 01:08 PM

if thats what "you guys" are moving towards then make a goddamn worthwhile group system and make some content that requires teamwork, not someone (me for example) with a hook of bile+12 that can kill anything in 1 hit. what keeps people playing a game is the fact that there is something they havent achieved yet. people quit gk because its the same bs over and over again. even if you leave for 3 years and come back its the exact same ****

Being able to one-hit monsters with a Bile weapon is based on your physique level and WC more than anything else. And, no one can bless Bile +12. It's not even possible on GK to be able to bless that high (and prepping the weapon with a bunch of EWs would be dumb).

They actually have a lot of content though, unlike GK.

Grindan and levelan, my bad.

GK has nice alchemy, gods, and spells; more than "MMORPG X" and "Y". I play(ed) a certain MMORPG whom we cannot speak of but we all know, and I hardly saw any exicting and unique content. I was all the same just with a different color scheme pretty much. And look how popular it is!

Felix_Xenophobe's Nail Dagger of Bile +10.
WC doesn't matter. It's physique level and bile+

GK might have MORE categories, but the depth of those categories is close to null.

Darklux 08-31-2008 08:32 PM

Well GK won't change as long as staff won't change anything regarding balance in favor of 10-15 hardcore players, sacrificing a possible growth of the server to far more players.

It's been like that in 2004, 2006, in 2008 and probaply will still be in 2010 if the game still exists by that point of time.

Popular pk'ing items (other than RoWs) aren't godly rare items. There's a lot of balance on GK, and, the thing is, in a leveling game, you can't have much "balance"

Darklux does not like the current management and, instead of going about it maturely, prefers to begrudge them.

I would take what he says with a grain of salt, as the saying goes.

He also pretty much dropped the chance to dev and "balance" GK as he puts it, so I guess you're right.

Dear Stephan,
Better tried than kept the same.
Sincerely, Switch

The lesson in this?
TRY IT. Don't just sit there and makes excuses not to do it. How about you sit your lazy ass down, turn on Graal, logon, double click "Graal Kingdoms" under the "Gold" tab, and TRY WHAT I SAID.
Thank you, come again.

I would like everyone who is interested to see this - this is the sort of "suggestions" we frequently get. Here he has stated a process for thinking rather than an actual suggestion (improvement). To top it off he's here telling me I don't log on... I think anyone who actually plays Graal Kingdoms knows better than to take his statement seriously - but sadly we get this sort of behaviour all too often.

I really am interested in suggestions, folks.

I never said you dont log on. I know that you do. It's called sarcasm.
And I've never seen this kind of suggestion. And, in fact, it's a good one, so how about you try it before jumping to conclusions.

Oh really?
I had a list not too long ago of things people wanted to see done to make GK better, and they were very good suggestions. Sorry that Bjorn decided to not share it with anyone nor reply to my forum PM. It's a shame, really, that I don't have it anymore.
And when I DO give suggestions, they're just forgotten.

EWs make the blessing more effective, which increases biles chance to kill things in 1 hit (not to mention it also raises your wc) and i put 9 EWs on a hook of bile+3. you fail.

being able to kill anything in 1 hit ruins the opportunity for grouping. and you cant even see whos in your group without going into some ms dos looking bull****
