@Rescate: so? trials shouldn't have to Upgrade for that class because they cant use the speed as much as P2P's can. if they cant use the speed than they would have a hard time using Commando. if they have it than they can master the speed


Personally any expirienced player can tell you your speed matters in most situations unless you mastered a slow class gun like SN and raiyo was krazy you guys had the most elite of the elite and i believe you should make a comeback to zone so i can enjoy some raiyo vs server on gw because your never on :O!

I might reupgrade for some good ol' Raiyo vs Server action! aww man, I miss those days, specially when it was just like 4 or 5 of us and we owned about 15-17 people with only one casualty lmao, good times, good times

Personally, I found V4's payment system better than V5's. Remember when there were absolutely no updates? It took about 3 months for an update to appear which was usually just some new clothes. I put up with that because I enjoyed Zone and thought that the payment system was pretty cheap (Probably because I am British and had to pay half as much).

However, since V5 came about, the payment system has been utterly ruined. Yes, there have been so many updates thanks to Daniel and the rest of the team, but I'm not going to USD (Or for me GBP) everything that I want. I liked it when there was a fixed payment method where it determined whether you could save or not. Nice and simple, no messing around with Gelats. You payed to save which provided the game, and then the staff provided updates, and wasn't that Graal's biggest pro? Updates could be added easily without the need for releasing patches or such. The payment method now is retarded, where you have to buy absolutely everything separately.

The stuff that you can buy is utterly shameful. Buying things for an online game shouldn't give you an advantage over other players by giving you stronger weapons, it should just distinguish you from the rest, like the golden weapons. In V4 there were tons of things that would make you different from the trials that you could get just from paying once for an entire year!

You could get the bluerifle, jetpack, different coloured sabres, etc. Fair enough, the bluerifle was stronger but only slightly and it's a good example of how far things should go when confronted with stronger P2P weapons. When it got to the photon cannon though, it was just silly, it was completely overpowered and trials couldn't do anything about it. Anyway, the other stuff wasn't necessarily stronger, just different.

Oh and about the spar, I made it because I got complaints 24/7 about people who just generally wanted to spar and kept complaining about the amount of lag there was because of the vast amount of players on the outside of the spar room. There was no denying it either, it was terribly laggy at times. It made matters worse in spar tourneys when the number of players would double, or even triple! This would cause a lot of frustration to people who really wanted to win these tourneys and win the prize. After I finished the map I was going to change the respawn points to a closer destination when you died after sparring, and I was going to have a spectator mode where people could watch those who were fighting. However I had no scripting support from Mr. Knorr who was too 'busy' with other things.

Huwa, i like your ideas. i love the part of no gelats. buying the bluerifle was fair/jp/rr/br/photon was enough to get the playercount to at least 30. and now what? a whole lot of new players, yet now there is only 20 more? wow. we should have no gelats system, special upgrade packs for special times of year (i was gonna get the pack on Christmas before v5 that was my plan but then v5 owned me). the weapons that were gelats should be buyable (sniper, goopistoles, and scifipistoles) and the magnums/laserforce should be available for special packages again.

Somehow 'oldbies' can never decide whether they want this or want that. When there are no updates they complain that there are no updates, and when stuff is changed then they complain that things are not anymore the same as they used to. We currently make more money with Zone than before and hope to expand this even more, by providing more updates and hosting more events. We made it simplier to buy stuff and cheaper to get Zone Gold. Of course things are not the same anymore, but please don't always only look on the negative sides. Have fun :D

If you are referring to me, I rarely complained about lack of updates. I was saying how I found Zone still enjoyable during the V4 period despite the lack of updates. Then I went on to mention that since V5 came around, even though there are a lot more updates than around the time of V4, I found the new system highly inconveniant and ended up playing Zone less and less.

It depends on what the updates are. Just because you have finally got off your backside to actually produce updates, doesn't necessarily make the updates a good thing.

I'm re-opening this thread. Daniel, Stefan's statements aren't definitive. This thread may have started off as a V5 bashing thread, but I feel it's turning more towards the point of becoming a decent discussion. It's good to hear some more of the player's opinions too (Especially about my post which took me ages to write, and I am not letting that go to waste! :p)

I agree with you Huwa, and I have to say that I liked Zone before v5 better, and that v5 was actually the reason I quit Zone. The Gelat thing kinda ruined it to me, and replacing a totally perfect inventory neither made sense nor made me happy.

I'd have to say, that the paying system on Zone is dumb, I mean the fact that you have to pay extra to get all weapons is so dumb, I'd like to see it back before the Gelats shoppe where all the items were in the Zone NPC, but not all items. Like gold weapons and limited time only (before) weapons were in it. The stuff that should be in the shoppe are stuff such as stat increasing items like say a new item use increased all weapon damage by 2 for an hour houses 10 uses lasts 30 days, that kind of stuff. Look at other online games you can't buy items from online USDing just special stuff.

I don't support it either, but theres no point in complaining about it. Graal Staff, like said before, make a good sum of money off of Zone and the gelats system.. Its not going away in the near future..

If you don't like the system (Like most do) just keep it to yourself and don't buy the extra weapons.. Like I said, no use in complaining. e.e

there are way more ways to make money and get more people to play. removing the Gelat Shop and using the inventory that we used to have (the green one) and making Hotkeys, as many have said, will increase the amount of players and money. i dont plan on reupgrading for zone this year, unless something good changes my mind. the only thing that was bad about V5 was the Gelat shop and limitations. without those and mouseclick gone than you will see atleast 65-70 people online each day. and alot of people have had alot of good ideas, but you dont even bother. i mean, i uderstand why some wont get in, but alot of them are great ideas. Stefan and Dan, you guys are great, but some of the Updates just made Zone less fun. Dan, your gift idea was great. alot of people got a chance to use some of the greatest weapons (candyreapers, carrot) and that made people happy. Stefan, if it wasnt for you, there would be no zone. you guys may have no time to script it all at once, but you could always do a little at a time. i mean, new Vehicles havent came out scince Sleighs, that could use some work. making new vehicles would be a reason to play. and you could make more money by making them Gold Only vehicles. Im not saying you guys arent doing a good job, im saying that there are different ways to do everything. like the Limited RPs and BPs, you could always just make new and cooler event weapons for people. you guys should keep up the good work, and correct me if there is anything i said wrong, and i dont know if there are anything being worked on, but you could always make zone better. there is always room for Improvement.

The only 'plague' I see on Zone is the inventory. I can put up with the players. I can put up with the egos. I can even put up with the Gelat store. But the newer inventory is hideous. The old one matched Zone, it fit. The new is just "'Sup. I'm random GUI window, brightest thing you will ever see on this server."

Sure, making people happy is great, but if you make more money doing and still make a great deal of people happy doing it the v5 way, you know what you would choose.

I'm an extremely optimistic person. There cannot be bad without good, its impossible. But when the bad outweighs the good, you need to do something about it... We do want updates, we want to be able to use our in-game talent to recieve these updates though...
Like the sniper rifle... Its been talked about for two years and its finally released, but its one of the most expensive things at the Gelet Shop... And you don't keep it forever... Thats like mocking a poor kid using food for two years then saying "You can have it!!..... If you buy it off me." Then taking food back from him 90 days later :O.

Lacks originality? I don't think you know what that word means, let alone how to spell it. Zone's levels have a certain design, go outside of that design and it looks hideous.

You mention the red floor with walls? So a floating spacestation in the middle of the galaxy isn't going to have any walls? And about the floor, there are only two colours to choose from, what do you expect? I think my new spar is quite sexy. However the fact that you spawn right at the entrance when you die drags it down a lot. Oh well, I handle the levelling and did what little scripting I knew to help. If you want things such as the respawn point changed, ask Knorr, he was meant to do it.

The main point of spar was when someone was laming on another planet, you cry and say "I COULD WIN ONE ON ONE", so you and the guy and his posse' go to spar. You spar him in front of his friends, win, and say "OSON, YOU GOT OWNT".

I think that V5 was better than V4 (I can use my reaps again! :D).

Of course, everything has cons and pros.

PROS: - I can play.
- I can use mai reaps.

CONS: - Everyone complains about the gelat shop (what's wrong with it?)
- Trials (more n00bs to kill)
