The most logical thing to do is to place Rufus in charge.

I recon rufus could turn Zodiac around, its a waste otherwise 0_o

Twinny 07-15-2007 11:20 PM

I just quit (again...Vulcan called me back). I got offered 'Manager' (again) but it just isn't something I want. I put my vote in for Rufus. Hopefully he will get it and lead the server to victory.

Darlene159 07-16-2007 12:34 AM

Lol, does Rufus even want to be the Manager?

Switch 07-16-2007 02:48 AM

Yes then put it back so it's a bit easier to level, have a pk system where players can't just kill you once you walk outside the spawn place, make you LEARN SKILLS WHEN YOU LEVEL (every 2-4 levels = 1 skill), and make it EASIER TO GET FREAKIN MONEY! >:O

DutchGuy 07-16-2007 08:02 AM

i find rufus not qualified for the job.
example: as leader of a guild you let people sign up to your guild, then ban their applications because you dislike them, so they can never sign up again(rufus did that on me to the US clan), makes me believe you do not fit the necessary skills to judge on a mature level.
And Zodiac atleast needs a mature person who's steady and works in the favor for the server, not for himself.

Then who would you prefer to see in? They have to be active, have some skills at least and also know Zodiac in depth. A clean record is also viable.

DutchGuy 07-16-2007 03:26 PM

Rufus is in my eye to immature for the job.
hes someone who choses sides, and doesn't have his own opinion.

2 vital things that can make you or break you as a leader.

i dont see anyone fit for the job.
u need someone who steps up and is capable of leading a server.
if people like rufus cant control a guild by itself, how can u control a server.

Is that your whole basis of your opinion? The fact that he baned you from his guild? Perhaps there was a very good reason

Crono 07-16-2007 03:43 PM

Rufus is perfect for the job. He had an admin-like job before on Zodiac and tried to push for some quality. For example he had me re-do CTF for him. I don't see the current management trying to improve in these areas.

Zodiac doesn't need new skills, new classes, etc. It needs to improve it's overall image at the moment. Like Googi proved before Zodaic can self-sustain itself for periods of time without updates. Rufus is one who pushes for quality in terms of levels and graphics. The tileset is ugly as **** but I know Rufus wants it improved.

The likes of Yen didn't give half a rat's ass about the tileset.

DutchGuy 07-16-2007 03:55 PM

if this means he will no longer be on classic, he'll have my vote:p

Your opinion has no basis: it is highly biased and nothing more. This about who can do the best job for the server, not what DutchGuy thinks will benefit himself personally.

DutchGuy 07-16-2007 07:30 PM

it ok , as long as he is a good manager.

I find Rufus quite mature, and have never seen the characteristics you speak of. Just because he wouldn't let you be in his guild, doesn't make him immature, or not Management material. I think he would be great for the job.
Rufus and I have butted heads on a few occassions, but he always made sense when he would discuss things with me. No signs of immaturity at all.

I like how everyone completely forgets just how corrupt Yen was, and how he'd use his staff powers to help people in his favor and attack those he did not like. Whatever though.

Rufus seems like a solid choice.

Switch 07-17-2007 12:40 AM

Rufus was the person who removed Yen's RC. He then attempted to get puppin and Jerret to make him manager, but they refused. calani then stepped in, got Stefan involved, and took over Zodiac; as opposed to Jerret and puppin, who should have been next in line to be manager. calani knew that he was trying to take the server over, so she removed his RC. Jerret and Yen still have no idea how Rufus got the rights to remove Yen. He just had a guest RC to talk in RC Chat; no rights.

Rufus's attempts to steal management of Zodiac are the reason it's in the state it's in right now. If he hadn't removed Yen's RC, calani most likely wouldn't have taken over Zodiac. Rufus has no great development skill, and it's unlikely he could find enough staff to develop, so no; he probably can't help it. Just for what he did to Zodiac, he's the last person who should be made manager.

This story sounds about as completely different from the one that was told when it happened as possible.

Yen was inarguably corrupt. Many people at the time agreed with this. Now everyone supports him because nothing much as been done. The hypocrisy here is amazing.

Switch 07-17-2007 01:02 AM

Since when did you play Zodiac? Yen wasn't corrupt. He worked extremely hard to keep the game balanced. He was always neutral when dealing with any players, no matter how pissed they were at him about recent balance changes. I can't even think of any time I've heard of Yen banning anyone.
I left Zodiac (atleast as liking it, I might go on it once or twice every 2 months) as Yen was leaving. Yen atleast made it easier for newer players so that they could be able to fight other players on not get killed as easily. Now with that new "Buy your Skills" and "get money from monster droppings for 2g each! Isn't that great?!" thing I don't like it. But Yen had it where newer players could atleast have a CHANCE of getting to another job thing (like summoner) without having someone train them and dieing 24/7.

Not only have I played Zodiac, worked with Yen on various occasions, and heard plenty of testaments from other players, but Yen himself has in fact posted some of his "corrupt" actions on these forums. He also made a good deal of anti-zodiac threats when he left, and threw a hissyfit in an incredibly child-like fashion.

Working hard is quite possible while being corrupt at the same time.

Since when did YOU play Zodiac?

Rufus removed Yen's RC, because he was going corrupt, yes. He didn't actually attempt to become manager at all, He suggested to Ibonic for Calani to be made manager in order to keep Yen away, Jerret then agreed to this and she was made manager.

Jerret was manager, Puppin was co-manager, so what were they next in line to be? Global?

As for his "attempts to steal management"; this is not the reason Zodiac is in the state that it is in, it's because people can't move on from Yen's era, and they harass staff so much that they eventually leave. If Rufus hadn't removed Yen's RC, Zodiac would most likely be gone. Yen was globally banned, and obviously for a reason, and what about his webcamming tradeoffs? Haha.

You obviously don't have a clue and you don't even play Zodiac, this leads me to believe you've probably got this weak information from someone who asked you to make the post. In future I suggest you do a little research first.

Switch 07-17-2007 02:50 AM

My research is based on my opinions and the Rufus thing was what I heard.

xXziroXx 07-17-2007 02:53 AM

Yen was VERY corrupt, so shush. And want to know another reason why Frotter or Puppin was never made Manager after Yen? Because they weren't considered as "manager material", and I must say I agree on that part.

bscharff 07-17-2007 03:12 AM

Calani Told Stefan That Yen Planned To Delete Zodiac (A Lie) and Stefan Globally Banned Yen.

Actually, it wasn't a lie. Yen posted on the zodiac forums that he was planning to use malicious scripts already planted on Zodiac in order to destroy the server on a certain date. It never happened though, naturally. There never were such scripts.

And Yen was globally banned for abusing rights, threathening to delete GraalOnline property and more things.

Please, dont speak of what you know nothing about. I really dont care, but if you want to look bad in people's eyes - sure, be my guest.

BS. Yen PLANNED and SAID he had such doomsday scripts. But naturally, they never existed. Or may have, but didn't at the time the server was searched.

Twinny 07-17-2007 02:58 PM

He was also on recently spreading propaganda about him taking over. He said that while he was on 'fixing stuff', the servers would be rigged to blow if he was removed .

Inverness 07-17-2007 03:34 PM

I keep telling him he just needs to let things cool down, but he doesn't listen.

Stefan has already allowed Yen back on Graal btw, not on the same account though. Or so I'm told.

This is what I mean from the ingame PM I sent you. -_-

Yen never gave weapons out if people camed. Atleast not from what i found out. Most of my time on zodiac was spent watching Yen, Akira, and any other of his abusive friends. Yen never really abused, he just let his friends abuse. I would constantly have to take weapons and stuff from Akira. He finally quit proboblly because he didnt get what he wanted. Then i focused on Yen, i gave money to people if they could tell me if yen gave them anything or if yen gave their friends anything. I would then look in the logs and try to match them up with trading logs, and/or set attributes logs. The ecoomy wasnt balanced or anything because of yen. It was because, I took money out of the economy, such as giving out guitars and such, they are worthless but people paid for them. Darkus had 3-4 accounts maxxed out with money, and that was why i was fixxing the economy, only i could not finish, because my co manager fired me, sort of how rufus removed yen....

I wasnt trying to go agaisnt you, i was just trying to put my story up, to help reslove this debate.

DutchGuy 07-17-2007 09:12 PM

in the end it all comes down to this.
Almost every manager is a laming noob.
9 out of 10 managers are corrupt.

I believe rufus is a nice choice, but not the right one.
Im sure he will get enough help with him, as he has got enough contacts to help him, and i just know who.

the bad thing these days is that alot of staff have muliple jobs on several servers, which is bad.
Am i sencing a downfall in development candidates?
Do i sence that the skills and talent is dropping down, leaving server owners no other choice then to hire the same people for multiple servers?
