Now, I pointed out that 2002-till now is what's pushing Graal forward because most of what has been done since = classic list. Guess who plays on the classic list? Mostly classic accounts. Guess what this kid was saying? Classic accounts are cancer? :asleep: |

There are plenty of servers online to check out, and keep busy on until 3D is done, not to mention making stuff for those who enjoy doing so. I, for one, quite enjoy looking a the progress of some of the servers that are online, meaning the ones on hosted, or under-construction. |

They get more players = more trials = more of a chance to get money. Jesus ****ing Christ. |
I'm glad it seems so simple to you, advertising would probably cost money, something Graal doesn't have
|
If they want more upgrades then they need to do as Gerami said and make a new server that is more interesting. The 2 they have there is not attracting everyone that plays Graal.
UN as a gold server is a load of laughs. A server similar to Zodiac as a gold server could get more upgrades if it has better graphics and much improved gameplay. On a side note, what happened to FairyLand(Unixmads other project)?????? As for advertising. Hey why not try myspace. It has done wonders for Tila Tequila to promote herself and good for many other unsigned music artists, comedians, and self-publishers that want to get their product out. |

myspace advertising is very good since people get stuck onto myspace
we do need another 2D server though..something for the players to knaw on before 3D.. -EDIT- there are alot of 12 year old guys and 36 year old girls as well, if they see it they are gonna want to play a new online game (i mean thats how i found graal). most old guys would probly be pressing the refresh key too fast to even see it anyways |
You need a Gimme to make it work. "Pay $40 to play our game!" won't get the myspacers playing, but "Free to Myspace members!" will. Even if the Free isn't as good as the Subscribers, they'd have to be able to couch it as "Hey look, a Even Free-er than IMVU or Zwinky Graphical Chat Client!"
But it's gotta be better than what they're selling, 'cuz now we got people leaving as soon as they realize it's Pay to Play. |

Have to actually have content to advertise, first of all. Even now, people are complaining nothing on the site that they claim when you subscribe is offered. Try dealing with that after working to organize a large advertisement. There's no need to even consider advertising until they sort out the game itself first, and make sure it's worth advertising, and they can give what they offer.

On the whole myspace thing, most of the advertising = spam. Sure, you can actually advertise on it, but no doubt it's too expensive. If you spam, its against the ToS and they can fine/sue you up to $50 for every person that its sent to.

Fair point.
I'd make the server to break the molds, but 1) I wouldn't get the support I'd need and 2) I'd get shut down for not following the rules as they stand. On my own server. -_-; |

No, the worst that can happen is Unixmad decides it's unforgivably anti-Graal to allow free passes and deletes the server, bans the account, and refuses to refund the hosting fee. Since I've yet to hear otherwise, I'm reluctant to attempt any such thing; besides, he has a point, the last thing he needs is for someone to allow "Free" accounts to all, then open an EBay store where he sells his own server's "Premium" stuff (equipment, scripted saving, whatever)...
|
Whoever said killing trials is bad, is completely ignorant.
Trials dont think they have to pay for the game since it takes like 2 hours just to get all the basic stuff a p2p has. Its time these trials are turned off. I hate them stinking up the servers. And should show them they need p2p which guest accounts was a good idea. |
On Maloria, trial accounts couldn't talk! ^_^
Anyways, this is why I never spilled the beans on The Graal Reform as I didn't want it to turn into a huge public debate where Graal Administration would just go "oh that thread is to huge and is just full or flaming and spam" and ignore it. If you guys want this done, do as I am and make it happen: Go to classic servers and provide all the levels, graphics and scripts for these trial areas. If enough classic servers conform, Stefan/Unixmad will take notice and just may move towards this idea. Graal is a huge boulder, it is way to have to push alone. If you want to get it to roll the right direction, carve the path for it to go! If enough people (mainly capable developers, preferably with current jobs on classic servers) are interested in joining me in my quest, I'll make a thread about it listing what kind of things should be done to accomplish our universal goal. |
God damn, Zero, put it up already. It's not happening =/

If the latter, I beg to differ! My advise is only being literated from the big man him self. |
*sigh*
Anyways... Let me just clear up what defines a Gold Server: A server that is overseen by Graal Administration for content and quality control. This does not mean a gold server has to be managed by them. |

And you know I actually tried that IMVU chat client. What a load of crap and waste of time it was, and it lagged horribly with my DSL. Graal doesn't even lag like IMVU does for me. |
Well...it seems Unixmad will be busy dealing with those pathetic Antigraal fools so probably no input from them :(
|
Just add in server ops to disable (by default) sendtext() and requesttext() and it will solve load of problems.
