Don't kid yourselves with a reset. Pull the plug. Kingdoms has had its run, and is steadily being snuffed out by the passage of time.

The playercount is falling with little signs of relief, the managers are hardly seen anymore and updates are always coming real soon now, but no actual progress is ever seen until about a year afterward. And even when the updates come, many things go unfixed.



Pull the plug and have someone competent rebuild it, or just let it die on the spot, because it's becoming sad having to watch it go out this way. When talking about the state of Kingdoms, I'm usually quite an optimist, but logging onto Kingdoms now just gets depressing.

Fully agreed...Either that or make it Classic...AFAIK, you aren't going to get any new player counts for years to come under gold at this rate.

A reset with all the bugs fixed and new useful content will help I think. Even if we run into this problem again in the future, in the meantime a better system could be put into play. I don't think any of us want to see kingdoms go but we also don't want to see it die a slow and painful death.

It won't die if it had updates the player count is only low at times because players have to make there own fun most of the time.

Also, it could be used to spark up lots of attention to the game/server...
Especially with a countdown timer of some sort... or some story element to it in the same way there was a story of how the game goes from G2k1 to GK...

The story line that you read on the website has never really been used, or atleast i havn't seen it. I believe that Drakeero wanted to do something with it but I guess he isn't now.

It doesn't have to be USED, it should just be HONORED and not ignored... but I doubt that's done either.

It's just a storyline written to explain the jump (or fall) from G2k1 to GK.... that is... to explain why the world changed dramatically... to not ruin the RPing of the kingdoms as the same kingdoms were being used from G2k1... Now as far as the kingdoms going along with that story at that time, or even finding a need to, I have no idea...

Well there's that storyline I just mentioned. And people are meant to RP around it (of course you can go a long way RPing without having to mention any part of that story- the bomy moon, the old world, the travel...). So if noone is using a storyline it means noone is RPing. If noone is RPing, what's the point of kingdoms?
So does anyone RP? If so, they're using some sort of story...

The last time I really felt like I RPed on Kingdoms was about three years ago with Drakeero, we went around killing monsters. It wasn't complex but it was fun and had nothing to do with the original story. What I was saying is that there in no universal story

What I'm saying is that RPing shouldn't HAVE to deal with the original story, as long as it doesn't deny it. Do you get what I'm saying now?

It should be fine to do whatever you want, even make yourself a hero, as long as it can stay consistent with other things.

It's a shame too, because kingdoms isn't such a bad RPing environment... but everyone has to make it work well- members, leaders, administrators...

Don't forget the /dance command on 2k1! It so needs to come to Kingdoms.

Give it up guys.... ill bet you a person with the power to actually help GK hasn't Even read this thread yet, they are too lazy, and not dedicated enough, i mean the players make more successful games than the official servers themselves. Why is this? a multitude of reasons exist, not enough dedication, not will to hire staff that ARE dedicated, all i know is that they have ALL the ability to fix kingdoms but not the will. Yet all we can do is hope for the best.:\

For RP we have to be responsible for that. Staff can't say "go RP now." There are plenty of things we could do that do not require staff support.

P.S. I am not going to give this up.

The server is not going to be saved by having a couple of players starting to RP. People have already done it and they are sick of it. Now all they want is new content.

People can dislike RPing and not participate in it without being "Anti-RP". Not to say this person is Anti-RP... but if a person is, it's like being "Anti-Fun". People shouldn't be allowed to go around for the intentional purpose of disrupting fun.

I'm not Anti-RP and have never been.
I used to RP and I liked it. But it's just that it's gotten old to me. I will probably get bored of PKing as well but not very soon.

And I can agree that the server was INTENDED to be an RP-server. It's just that staff made it a PK-server (with the hardcore-statted items.. Well stats in general actually.)

Make everyone over level 20 bmode. Make bomboria trade the only non-pk zone (this is so that people dont have a hissy fit).

Reasons for this: by level 20 you will have enough gear to be able to defend yourself. Because GK is dead and this will bring life back. And finally, because PKing is the only good thing left on this server

The problem with the 20+ Bmode is that there are a lot of players who are stronger than level 20 who will then pick on the weaker players.

Yea that'll work, of course. All these level 20 guys and then level 110 guys knowing they have easy targets. It's genius.
