In theory to make the best server (graphical and level quality) there should only be one GAT and one LAT.

Can you back your opinion up? How is this possible.. Not only would it take
forever to get things done but everything would look generic. There needs
to be different devs with different styles to make things, well, different.

That's true to a degree, but there needs to be a consistent style to the graphics or levels so that people would look at them and go "oh, that's from -insert server here-."
Otherwise you end up with graphics that look awful on the server, like all those new guns on Era.

Different styles in levels can vary to a degree. Different styles in graphics clash. I mean... there can be a bit of leeway with different styles, but not much. If you ever look at companies looking for people to do graphics, most of the time they ask that you can match the current style.
Monotony can be broken with skill, not different styles.

And you're saying that one LAT can't have a bit of variety? Putting together a team with 5 lats causes to much variety, players get confused and ends up disliking the server. In graphics you need to have the same "style", i'm guessing if 4 gats were to work together it wouldn't become the "best" server.


It would become a good server, but far from what people think is amazing. But as said it's just a theory, perhaps you should become a judge and tell who's better then the other in level making and graphical arts.

The ability to buy servers killed absolutely any idea of any "mega-server" being built. It's spread the developers very thin and has allowed egos to explode. The only real chance of anything happening now is a tight group of friends making a server who happen to be very gifted.

Or any good servers for that matter. I still remember when having a website was THE BIGGEST DEAL EVAR and even getting a PWA review was awesome.

Yeah, I remember when Jinx and Torankusu used to do the reviews and post them. It was exciting to read them. Now when you hear about a new server you're just like "lol" and don't get excited at all.

Exactly. Then again "they" don't see a problem with it so it's never going to be the same again. :asleep:

And theres the fact that tons of people actually do buy servers, so nothing will ever be done anwyay.

I can do some ganis, script (very functional, but scripters hate looking at it), level decently, and do some pretty awesome piece of **** graphics.
