I'm not talking about the frequency of events, but raffle as an option for high-quality items.

Draenin 02-05-2007 07:17 PM

I miss having raffles for stuff that was actually worth something.

Ravenblade1979 02-05-2007 07:23 PM

Well tell you what I will discuss with sam about possibly having different items then what we normally get just for raffles. Normally we can take donations from ppl and event off our own extra stuff too.

Draenin 02-05-2007 07:30 PM

Players really shouldn't have to raffle off their own stuff to make the events better.

Agreed but how else will u get good stuff? Do you want a list of what we get in the em bag? Its enough to spread out but not enough to hold a decent lottery with.

Draenin 02-05-2007 09:26 PM

I don't see the harm in raffling off some rare or dead items once every two weeks or every month.

Probably every month, two weeks is pushing it.

No there is no harm in it but I am lucky to get a rare or dead item once every 6 months.

A far cry the wild old days when I won a Phoenix Shield in a raffle held by staff (he-who-shall-not-be-named). I like it that we have more honest staff now, who care about making the game better and not abusing their power.

However, I agree that too few rare items are introduced. I'd be happy if staff held a monthly raffle to give away a good item (for example, one of those that can be made in the event islands shop for 20+ ECs). That's just my opinion, but I think it would generate excitement and give hope to the newer players that they could break into the big time by getting a good item. (I remember how hard it was to get my first good item).

Draenin 02-06-2007 02:53 AM

I think it's a bit ironic that even Bjorn's site has items listed which are physically impossible for players to obtain right now.

While I agree your gonna have the older and more experienced people then try to scam the item from them or get it from them or they will outright complain that it was "fixed". I had to tell a new person not to sell the event coin they won at one of my events. I told them that they should collect it for the Coin Shop so they could make good items. More Experienced players can't stand new people having good items. They fear that their place on the food chain will dwindle.

I thought we were to try and entice new people into playing. All I see are things that are sold for 100-1200 dias these days. When ur a low level you can't clear out the haunted house over and over again to get diamonds and it would take you hours of mining to get even 100 dias. We more experienced need to leave them be. So what if they win a good prize. Let them decide if they gonna sell it or not. Don't jump on them like savages. We are trying to promote the game not show them how greedy we are.

Thats the problem, I have seen people win items in events and then somebody say that they will buy it, because the new player doesn't know what the item is worth they end up selling it for much less than its worth. I find it annoying when people do this because they take advantage of new players and thats not very nice

zell12 02-06-2007 05:57 PM

Not everyone can make events. Should have items like this evented off every few months or so, with prior notice of the date. Need to balance this out some, people should be killing mobs for items too. And not just Flaming swords and crap. Good items sometimes too. :/

Yes that a good idea! its annoying when staffs do events and lots of the time where I live we do not get events hosted (GMT+1) it would be good if staff are going to host a event with a big prize to put a notice on the forums and have someone sticky it so everyone can plan to come online then ;] this would make people more happy because then the cant complain that they didnt know it was happening

I know and they don't care. They just laugh about it and do it again and again. I think one of the problems with with new people not wanting to play (oh yes this has to come up) is people like that. These people finally get something good and they are pounced on and people rip them off. If I was just starting and I won a good prize and found out later after i sold it for what i thought was a good price that I got ripped off I would quit.

We aren't promoting a good game here. People are more worried about themselves then anything. Take this morning. I got online and after was done checking emails and stuff went to the west haunted house and spent a bit of time getting swords, armor and helms and went straight to where i seen trials the most and set the stuff down for them to take. I was being thanked left and right. One even wanted to buy a gold account because I was so nice.

Then this new gold comes in and ruins it by stealing items. Then this same gold has a trial and used it to steal items too. I know ur new but still you fit in with other golds who do the same thing. So I went back a second time and got more items and did the same thing. They were thankful. We need to help new people and not hinder them. So what some dude is selling a expensive item..doesn't mean i need to underpay new ppl or pounce on them for items like ec's that they may have won in a event just to further myself.

I actually will take time to help ppl usually.

There were great events in the past, and people were well informed. This isn't a new idea or anything people. Just slacking off.

How often are you on kingdoms? There is a new subscribe system out. When one of us event masters activate a event a little box will appear top right with the event name. u click it and subscribe. Oh we can stilll announce but by that time 3/4's of the kingdoms have subscribed to the event.

zell12 02-06-2007 06:42 PM

How much notice do you give players? A few minutes? Few hours?

I'm talking about eventing off rare items, not little ECs.

Ec's are just as hard to come by as rare items or don't you play enough to know that? Those rare items like phoenix helm and shield are makeable now in the coin shop so ec's are considered rare.

zell12 02-06-2007 06:56 PM

How many coins do you get, and how often do you get them? How many ETs are there?

They are no where near rare, compared to items such as Red/Blue Dragon Amulet, those battle axes, etc. Those one or two items that are on the server.

Also, answer my first question please.

I get 10 coins only to event off every refill. and there are only me, kyden, proto and sam as em's..and i think bjorn. but sam and bjorn are always busy..so any one time 30 ec's total to event off between 3 em's. thats not a lot considering the costs of the items in the coin shops.

i actually give 5-10 minutes depending on the event. and with the new subscribe ssytem out ppl can see whats going on. get on gk dude and see what i mean.

zell12 02-06-2007 07:05 PM

You obviously aren't even worth talking to.

Ravenblade1979 02-06-2007 07:05 PM

Seriously instead of sitting off of gk and complaining come on and see the wonderous new system. heck i can tell u I just finished a event with 7-9 people in it. As per the old which i would be lucky to get 5.

Taikun 02-06-2007 07:05 PM

How often do you get refill

zell12 02-06-2007 07:07 PM

Dude, I don't have to be on it. You aren't even grasping the whole point of my original post. My god.

zell12, you don't even play GK so there is no need for you to be posting here. Raven answered your questions already

Yep, he agrees giving a very long notice prior to eventing off rare items.

I haven't seen in a very long time, where players were given at least a weeks notice prior to eventing off a very rare item. It was done in the past, like I said. That's all I was saying, then you ramble on about this...

I think you might have misunderstood me or something. But if that doesn't clarify, I don't know, I give up.

Don't start something you can't finish...

Anyway, as for these "dead" items, I feel they should be left alone. Create new ones. Let mobs drop some good items on occasion, and not so great ones more often. Need some more diversity... ;)

It's been said you don't play graal kingdoms so why should i bother continuing what we were discussing.

That's a decent solution.

Which gives me an idea - make a group of enemies, one which has a nice item in it - and let people kill them. then it's chance, and fun in the administration's (sam) eyes ;)

zell12 02-06-2007 08:46 PM

Well, if all players were equal, that would be nice... maybe like a fishing derby, or a roundup game where you are in a big arena and you have to catch a bunch of rabbits or something... hehe

Something where it's not counting the items you have on, but your skill/experience, whatever you want to call it. It would be the most equal way I can think of for having an event for such rare items, also unlike the raffle, it gets them involved more.

Also, "Ravenblade," just because I don't play when you are on, doesn't mean I don't play. Just because I don't play as much as you, doesn't mean I don't have an opinion on such things. I'm getting tired of that comment, especially coming from someone that registered in 2006.
