Era is ripped off real life. Everything has been done already, now it's time for doubles silly. Besides there hasn't been ANY pokemon-type servers (outside of the ones in 1998 that Cassy has said she played to me o.O) in graal. I plan on extending it a bit off that, online play w/ such would be fun and we all know everyone likes pokemon even if they don't admit it =p.

I have to agree that the idea is far from original.

I absolutely hate it when people say "everything has been done!" what a load. That's a sure sign that you have no creativity or imagination. I can name dozens of games released on consoles in the past decade that were never done before.

Katamari Damacy, Pikmin, Harvest Moon (it's still the only game of it's kind)... dozens of Nintendo DS games that take advantage of the stylus, such as that under the knife operating game, Kirby Canvas Curse, etc.

Most of these games have innovative ideas that have never been tried in games before. There are still plenty of new ideas to use, you're just not imaginitive enough to come up with them.

Servers like Era are actually pretty unique... The only game Era really has inspiration from is Grand Theft Auto, and still, GTA was never done in Graal perspective or had things like mining or other features of Era.

Ripping Pokemon directly is hardly creative. Just because it hasn't been done on GRAAL doesn't mean it's some new thing. Like I stated above, there are games that come out on consoles now that have ideas never seen before. So don't give me the sob story of how every idea for a game has been used already. I could come up with an awesome new idea for a game/graal server in 20 minutes and you wouldn't be able to list one game that it would resemble in the least bit.

i think its not a bad idea.. yet it would get old after a while

something more like chromehounds or w/e that game is where you can get different kinds of mech robot things and upgrade them and customize them so yours can be edited to your liking and style would be much cooler

All I said was the PW was gonna be similar to pokemons style.

You people can just wait until it's finished before you are too complain about the "originality" of the server.

It is something new to graal, which will also attract people to come to it. Wait and see.

To all about this idea saying it is unoriginal:
- If you believe this idea is unoriginal then even if it is to you.. it isn't to graal overall. There are none (to my knowledge) of turn based playerworlds where you catch monsters and use them to fight others etc... so if it's unoriginal overall then go buy a pokemon game and let's push the players from playing graal z.z

Either way.. the server will be played and liked no matter what you personally think about the idea because it is NEW to graal. Simple.

It's gonna be fun!

There was a pokemon server using the Graal Client awhile ago. Back when gservers were released. People ripped all of the sprites from the pokemon red and blue games, and made a game that was very similiar to it. But still, not many people played.

Except bomy battling was planned for 2k1 like 4 years ago.

Oh and there was that Pokezero game by this guy named Mike which was Graal mixed with Pokemon. Though he was scripting the game in visual basic, he used Graal's tileset and characters mixed with Pokemon graphics..

So again, this idea is far from new. >_<

... well I've been waiting for a month now.. and just stopped 2 or 3 days ago.

I just briefly skimmed over the posts, and I must say, there is a lot of irony in this thread. Telling him that he isn't creative, and that it is wrong to rip off another game is sad, considering that this game (Graal) was originally ripped off of Zelda, and that most servers are made up of stolen ideas from other games (actually I doubt you could find one server that is 100% original). His server has a lot of potential, bashing it because it will resemble another game is stupid. Some of the best things made are variations of the originals.

Is it where Pluffy is from?

Keep working on it, if they see you are dedicated it will only help your case. Giving up is a sure way to make them even less likely to take time out of their schedules for you.
