Pixel Art is usually defined as an art of making something pixel by pixel, not paint bucket by paint bucket. :)

Yes it is long and tedious but, it is very satisfying once you finish.

I perfer a million color realistic rendering creative painting my self, but whatever floats your boat.

I did this in paint in about 10 minutes but I could have shaded it so much better if I had a better program.

Not really, Colors are so limited, and That tree seemed to take forever in paint. They basically round the colors up to 5 basic colors of the hue you selected.

There isnt, you can add however many colors you want, however you only can apply one color at a time, more advanced programs allow brush simulation with transparent opacity type brushs as well.

Double click on a specific color on the palette and it brings up a color selection window. ;)

Stop trying to sound like you know what your talking about. You didn't even use proper grammar; "Opacity Type"? Try; Opaque. Anyways, Photoshop and PSP are not more advanced than MSPaint, just have different uses. MSPaint is fine if you want to make pixel art, but if not, then don't use it.

opacity is also known as variable translucency. (semi see thru). and goboom pixel art is not defined as doing things one pixel at a time. thats a stupid theory and you do not need to spread things like that. YOu shun other more advanced programs because you simply never used them! please please just try something better! im trying to help you!

Very nice. It's hilarious how this thread has been turned into a fight about pixel art whilst there are still other ways you can use MS Paint and make it look good. Take Oekaki for example: (these were done by my sister, the latest two with a tablet, the eldest WITH A MOUSE)

those images have like 31 thousand colors in them. and PSP and photoshop are more advanced than MS paint. it has a small amount of tools, what.. 4 brush sizes? sure you can make great art in it, but why punish yourself?

When it comes down to it, its all a matter of opinion.

i use paint to draw x rated art during computer class.

I just wanted to say that you can pretty much do the exact same thing in MS Paint if you know how to use the eraser tool properly.

I replace all instances of a color in an image pretty quickly with any other color of my choosing.
