I remember when I argued for ms paint on these forums, and I was in the minority by a landslide. This is a nice turn around. :)

Of course you must recognize that other programs have capabilities that ms paint does not, and so they have their uses. MS Paint is a bare bone simple program, that is user friendly and excellent for pixel work. For that simple basic function, it excels, and for that it should be respected.

Its also great to learn on.

Very good description, I use Adobe sometimes for shading, but since I always rape my images in it, I just use paint, it's great to learn with, and I find I'm learning more, and more everytime I shade in-detail on MS paint (:

Well, not really. You can only zoom between set numbers, that's not really flexible.

MS paint is a piece of garbage. it is good for kids doodling and making funny pictures to put on the desktop. Everything paint does, psp does better. the reason you disagree with me is becuase you arent familiar with both. so you defend the only one you have used. Its made me better at gfxing and it sure takes a hell of a lot less time to make anything

If MS-Paint was a "piece of garbage" it wouldn't be one of, if not the, most used graphics program on earth.

I seldom use Paint, but when I do, it's because there is simply no other software that can do the basic but needed things that Paint excels at. No matter how you look at it, with or without anti-aliasing, the drawing tools in PSP, PhotoShop and PhotoImpact just aren't flexible and fast enough.

ms paint is the most widely used becuase its already in your computer when you buy it.
they are just as fast and if not more flexible. you just have to explore the different menus and tabs in the tool options

Yes but ms paint is easyer to use beacuse its faster at certain things.

1 you can make the size of the entire image bigger just by grabing the end and draging.

2 you can select a back ground color and make it transparent and put 1 image over another very quickly.

Now I must say I like psp7s zoom and the fact that when I press ctrl I can use the eye dropper tool real fast to select a color.

Ms Paint is by far the best GFX program, it is THE BEST program for outlines i have ever seen, altough it's not THE BEST for coloring(a little bit slower etc.), that's why you have a 2nd program for coloring, a real artist have more than one brush too ;)

aactually don i think you can just hold shift or alt. one of those and it changed to the eyedropper.

I know, I have used both PSP, PhotoShop and Paint and explored them deeply. I'm not talking about the amount of tools, I'm talking about using the tool itself to create something inside the software. At this Paint is the fastest and most flexible.

MS Paint is among the best because it's simplistic, it teaches you how brushes work, how to shade, etc. MS Paint is also superior because it comes free with your windows version, and as Mr. Cool said earlier, it comes on every computer. (assuming you use a version of Windows)

I've already mentioned my reasons for being "very stupid" But, I doubt I can stand people shouting out ill founded opinions, which seem to have no base except a few poor decisions, or bad impressions. This inane idiocy disgusts me, and although I've always detested it, I only now share how I feel, and if you don't like how I feel on this topic, than I'm not going to stop you, but I'm sure there are many more you will agree with me on.

Yes, other programs have what ms paint does by in large, I believe I pointed out that it is merely a bare bone basic program.
